- What's up guys! Today we installed our Apple CarPlay module into this Benz E class with NTG 4.0
This will work on any Benz with NTG 4.0. The years are 08-11.

Is the Apple carplay better controlling than Android carplay?
Looked very smooth and easy to use in this video.
My setup, which is identical, but using android phone, has much more clunky and bad menu's.
Seems to be very poorly made CarPlay.
Finally something for us who have NTG 4.0. Can you ship to Zimbabwe 🇿🇼 . I have a 2010 E class 350 bluetec
Does this work well for phone calls? I had a similar system on my BMW and there people always complained how I sounded
Thanks for the video! What if we don't use the provided microphone? Is it only for Siri or for answering calls also?
P.S. The car has its own microphone.
Our new module, actually uses the original mic.

That was a good detailed video on the module. Im just curious, can the module do video in motion or watching movie via usb connection? Have you tested in rear entertainment screen as well?

Thanks so much for the detailed video - if you would be so kind, I have a question! How would I be able to find out if this would work on my 2014 Mercedes CLA250 in the USA? I know it is NTG 4.0, but I was told by an installer that there are about 20 versions of the wiring harnesses and fiber optics etc. in Mercedes and there are special functions, and on and on...
As long as it is NTG 4.0 it will work fine :)
Interesting never seen any good video about NTG 4.0 install is bit more work then the NTG 4.5 install I see with the extra things needed!

I got android 10 and android 11, I have followed the manual instructions but no android mirror link connection wired or wireless. The carplay displays endlessly: start connecting android mirror link. Quick question as there is alot on here about conversions but not all in English, I have a 2012 E250 with the NTG 4.0 without NAV will this set up give me navigation
will the audio quality sound be better? and is the audio better sounding than the CD?
In this setup can I use the forward and back buttons on the head-unit to skip tracks? Or are these locked out as the head unit is running in aux mode?

Since Android 9, wireless Android Auto should also be possible if this box supports it.

I have an NTG4.0 that does not have the AMI/MMI/AUX/anything. Is the AUX needed for this module to work?
Thank you for the video, i have a w212 with a ntg 4.0 smaller screen than your because i don't have a nav and backup camera the problem is that the AUX volume is kinda low compared CD audio or Radio, will this still be the case even with this mod on, thank you
You can change the aux volume in settings

@@TheFittingBay that depends on the car, mine is 2009 first of the model, and it doesn't have the option to change the aux volume.

Is the Screen In and Out module needed only for the backup camera interface -- or is it needed it for the Apple Car Play module to work with the NTG 4.0 screen?
I have a 2010 Mercedes E350 who dash configuration looks exactly like the car in the video (-- except being in the US the driver side is on the left ;-) Not installing a new backup camera. Trying to figure out if I need both modules.
Its needed for the screen to work with the Apple CP module. Second to that, the interfaces themselves are usually pretty close in price. So a backup cam interface for similar cost, only does camera. Whereas carplay does both carplay and camera :)

I have an early production R172 SLK with the NTG 4.0, most R172s have 4.5. Having trouble finding a kit for it, thin the E-class kit will work?
As long as it is NTG 4.0 this will work :)

My 2010 GLK350 (left hand drive) has NTG 4.0, but the smaller screen (no navigation or factory backup camera). Would this work on my vehicle?
As long as it is definitely NTG 4.0 it will work :)

Wrong setup/installation take it back to your installer

It’ll be 4.0 due to the year but if you google “which NTG system do I have” you can see images of what each looks like

Hi is it possible to install this on an e200 2011 convertible?
I notice that the audio is fed via the AUX input. The NTG 4.0 systems suffer from a very low max volume for AUX (even when set at the highest limit in the Engineering menu)...
Is this the case for the audio fed via this carplay system too? (i.e. does it suffer from a low max volume)

They take longer when we need to record also for obvious reasons 😜
The apple CarPlay is a great addition... I’m waiting patiently for my opportunity to have this installed in my vehicle.. also where did you get that flat bottom steering wheel with the s4 logo
