I don’t have this my glove compartment
This will not work on most if not all W212 E-class mercedes sold in the US, probably Canada as well. The US spec cars came with some version of comand along with the Harmon Kardon sound system. That means they don't have the slot in the glove compartment. There are other solutions available, but none that are this simple to install.
I was very disappointed to find that out as my w204 doesn’t have the Becker slot in a glove box :(

@@DS-wv1nl my car doesn’t have pre wired Becker slot, so the only solution to connect CarPlay is to buy a more expensive and heavier equipment, dissemble the whole central console and install it. But I don’t think I’m gonna do that because it’s too complicated and there’s a high chance I can damage something or the whole panel may become squeaky
I bought this same upgrade, install was easy, everything works just as it does from factory. Sound and quality is a little better sounding to me since I installed! Highly recommend to anyone! Make sure you have the Becker unit in your glove box before ordering!

@@mcostafernando I own a B 200 2014, my dealer's approach when my family got the car new was to replace the original head unit by a chinese clone with a dual system so we could have Maps via Windows CE, rear camera, digital TV (1-seg) and a slightly bigger screen. It's completely outdated (no Apple/Android connectivity for one).
What approach did you take?

Just got it on Amazon for my w204 2013. Unfortunately the unit failed after a couple of days and the replacement had something loose inside and would also not pair. Once I get my money back gonna give it one more shot. When it works it’s nice.
Update have had unit for 7 months. Love it. Specially the google maps. No issues.

Now will the navigation still work. See I have a 2014 c300 sport, and a Samsung s10 plus. Originally I was just about to order the 12.3" screen off DMP Design and it is insane for $629. But I saw this . And it's like a mini less work involved but cannot do near

I believe there’s one where you just plug it into the media port in the center council and access it through media 1 or 2
If it has the Becker slot in the glove compartment you are good to go.

Problems with sound are usually not set up to connect the audio with Bluetooth.

i really wish i knew these existed when i did my android auto retrofit. i had to rip the entire radio unit out and shove bulky cables in there, and i almost wanna undo it to get one of these modules.... it also cost me like 3 times more than these cost 😢

Will the data be used for navigation from the car or smartphone? The GPS reception breaks down in the motorway tunnel, so it is good to use the vehicle data for navigation.
It is not, waze is better than old navigation in the car. And you cant lost yourself in the tunnel lol you just go straight :D but i heard somewhere in the northern europe they are building roundabout in the tunnel so you may be right in this case :D

bought this unit for my W204 2015 with ntg 4.5, my sons iphone connects fine and works perfectly but my android Samsung A12 wont work as intended

Hi, will it work with a 2018 e class w213 with NTG 5.5 system. The car has Garmin map pilot but has not got android auto or appl apps installed and even though the car usb has the special mobile phone icon, phones won't connect with the built in 12.3" dash screen. Dealer said android auto was a special order when car was purchased. Do I am wondering if the USB even connects with the car screen to enable this device to connect to it.

Kameran måste strömförsörjas från vänster och höger backljus och installera 12V-reläet, AV-kabeln till kameran och AV-överföringsanslutningen till modulens expansionsgränssnitt.

Can I ask what the cables are for if everything connects via BT and supports mirroring? Also are both android auto and ACP wireless or wired?

I installed this unit from the link that you provided now I'm stuck installing the backup camera and settings on the car. When I go to settings to set up the rear view camera it doesn't change automatically and the menu that you set up is different from the OEM , any advice? Thnx

Hi, I bought this device. I make the install connected the car to the unit, and the phone to the unit works perfectly until i stop the car. When i start the car again simply don’t make the connection between the phone and the device. If i press the device on Bluetooth on the iphone is not connecting. Also i try to wipe the settings on the device and repet the connection process and is working, until i stop the car again. Is so annoying that is not working properly and not making the connection automatically. Do you know what the problem is? Do you think is broken? Thanks

I had this exact problem. Took me ages to figure it out, partly because my Audio 20 Bluetooth Audio menu is a little different to most people on this videos (older firmware).
If you search for Bluetooth devices and then select the box (like you would if connecting to a phone), it will never work because with a phone for example you need to accept the invitation on the phone screen. You can't do that with these boxes.
If your firmware is newer than mine, you're looking for the option that says 'Connect via BT device'. Once you select this, edit for up to 30 seconds or so and the box itself will request a connection with the car, which you can authorise.
If your system is like mine, it will show the list of paired devices, and above that there is a heading, which is you select it, brings up another box that says 'external verification'. If you select that and wait it does the same thing.

How do phone calls work afterwards? Iphone will route the call to carplay but you do not have a microphone

I wonder where I can find information about the different service types that my w212 shows. I has 95000 km and request a B5 service. What is a B5 service?
I not understand the service codes really is kinda confusing. Is better to use the workshop code find in the hidden menu then check it on WIS you get paper with all the steps. But also you could check manually from the service book that’s probably the best and easiest way.
Hello there. B5 service it’s about the changing oil and filters control break and steering fluids and tires pressure. Nothing special. Even if late it will just keep adding days to the service but will work normal way.

@@crazypict I will tell you the truth. I found the answer here in the CZcams. I searched for what it’s b5 service in my w204 and the videos I found all showed the same information. It’s a reminder from the car for us to make the services. Hope this information helps you.

i bought the same unit for ntg 4.5, the carplay works excellent but when i try to connect the car's unit with the carplay unit throught bluetooth i get the message from the car's unit that the connection was regected, do you know how to fix that?
In the Bluetooth search menu at the car go to the second option and it should connect.
After the „installation“ of the device my car (w204 facelift) give me a Failure Notification (Radar Sensors) and the distronic + blind spot assistant don’t work anymore. Any solution?

Probably you have the high end comand head unit with built in navigation, and that’s good news. But not in this particular case.

To my knowledge your HU in US are comand mostly then is not works. But you could check glove compartment if you have Becker system.
@@MB212 Can confirm, NA W212s don't use a Becker nav slot, as NAV is built into HU.
HELP!!! I can’t seem to connect the device to my NTG Via bluetooth. My bluetooth menu only shows UPDATE and noth the (connect via bt aufio device) carplay seems to work perfect but i cannot connect the audio with my cars stereo. Is there any workaround?

I’m having a similar issue when trying to connect the device with my car. After the dialog showing the 6-digit pass key (min 2:23), if I continue the screen displays “Connection to CARABC-BT rejected”. Would be glad for any help. Thanks.
Found the solution: In the BT audio connection submenu of your NTG 4.5 you need to go to the second entry (“Connect via BT audio device”), not to the first entry (“Search for BT audio devices”). A menu will pop up after a few seconds to authorize CARABC-BT and after accepting the pass key your car will connect to the device. For reference check step 8 from installation manual.

Yess is really commonly here in Sweden most bought the cars without the high end system (comand) only with audio 20 and then no navigation is built in so these device was installed to have navigation possible from Harman.
With that you probably have the comand system and if you live in USA you have it for sure. Because you could not choose this cheaper option.
