    Multi-sport athletes are a rare breed. These outstanding athletes didn’t limit themselves to one sport, but instead flourished in a number of sports and leagues. Among the greatest who have ever competed professionally in more than one sport are legends like Michael Jordan, Deion Sanders, Bo Jackson, Babe Didrikson Zaharias, Jim Thorpe, Charlie Ward, Herschel Walker, Lionel Conacher, Jackie Robinson, and Jim Brown, but only one can come out on top.
    For this list, we’ve chosen professional athletes who have attained some level of success in multiple sports.

    So, ironic that in the first video with Michael Jordan, he's shown being guarded by Danny Ainge, who ACTUALLY played 2 major league sports: Ainge played a few seasons with the Blue Jays before joining the Celtics...

      Ya Thorpe definitely has the most impressive resume. Dave Winfield is a guy who didn't even make the list who should be considered up there with Bo and Thorpe. He was a HOF Right Fielder, but he was actually drafted as a pitcher, being one of the best pitchers in his draft class. He was also a star basketball player at Minnesota, and was drafted by both the NBA and the ABA. He was also drafted by the Minnesota Vikings. He is one of only two people who have been selected in the draft of four different pro organizations. Prob the most underrated multisport athlete of all time. Elway was another guy who is underrated.

    Bo Jackson Didn't Choose baseball just because the royals won it all the year before. The Tampa Bay Bucs, invited him to a meeting when he was still in college, thus being illegal, and he was suspended from the last season of baseball at Auburn. The bucs hoped to get him to not play baseball, So they drafted him 1st overall, but he declined to sign with them and went for the MLB draft instead. Check your shit Watch Mojo.

    Yup, all Americans. In New Zealand alone we've had George Nepia, who was similar to your number one, as the first prominent Maori athlete, he played Rugby for the national rugby team known as the All Blacks, and that particular team known as the Invincibles, and also played Rugby League for our national team. Then there are a few who represented New Zealand in both Rugby and Cricket, Jeff Wilson being the most notable but there were others before him I believe, and then there's Sonny Bill Williams, world champion in Rugby and Rugby League, and has also been trying his hand at professional boxing. And I'm sure there are Brits who have represented their country in both either Rugby and Cricket or Football and Cricket. There's Australians and other European and even possibly South American or South African athletes who have also had success in two sports. Maybe you could have done an all American top ten and a Rest of the World top ten?

      Josh Poirier That is okay.We all have a little troll in ourselves. Tebow is a phenomenal athlete. I'd like to see succeed in Football because I hear he is a wonderful person. He should give the CFL a try. It may not pay much, but it is a pro league, the game is more exciting than the NFL. The CFL game would help him immensely with his style of play. Right now the CFL is hurting for good quality quarterbacks. He'd have not problem adjusting. Many cheers to you.

    I see the Eurotrash are trying to act like standing around and lightly jogging for a few minutes at a time for an hour and a half makes you a better athlete than guys who crash into each other on ice skates, run and jump and dive, or running and jumping, throwing and kicking, tackling and blocking is more intense and makes you a better athlete.

    What Bo Jackson did was much more impressive than Jim Thorpe considering it was so modern. Jim Thorpe would struggle in any major sport today as athletes are much bigger, faster, and stronger now. What Thorpe did was impressive for his time but high schoolers today could run circles around him.

    • @MClark-ii2di

      Well sure but athletes today have access to a lot of things people at that time didn't. Especially the pharmaceuticals if you catch my drift. ;)

      in all likelihood, Jim Thorpe would have been built physically of the time just as Bo Jackson or any other athlete does. Modern nutrition, modern weight programs, etc.

    • @simonklages9262
      @simonklages9262 Před 7 lety +1

      then put highschoolers of today back a century ago, get raised, trained and feeded the same way as people back then and see if they "run circles" around Thorpe. Or bring Jim Thorpe as a child here, give him the modern conditions and see what he is able to achieve... Or transfer the athletes of today 100 years in front from now and see how they will compete. And if you CAN'T do that, you should better consider that the only measure for greatness can be the achievement in ones own time. Or was Charles Lindbergh not a great pilot because he didn't cross the atlantic with a modern type airplane or Aristoteles or Leonardo da Vinci not great geniuses because some of their theories turned out to be wrong in modern science with all its steadily growing possibilities? Well, this point is no point actually.
