Where is Sean Taylor
Heaven
Ikr even tho I'm an Eagles fan
+Eliott Perez you're profile picture is odell
I'm a giant fan but he should defiantly be there
Yeah Ik I just chose a random screenshot I took for my profile pic I'm gonna change it tho
European viewers be like: "Who the fuck are these guys ?"
True
ayeton should of at least make the list and an honorable mention for phil huges
+Franglish hahahaha and latin-american people too
not European, more like everyone outside of North America don't know these guys
+Franglish agreed.
I'm a huge Florida State fan, but still, how is Sean Taylor not on this?
Eric L I was thinking the same thing
Where is Sean Taylor?
Lonzo Ball heaven
DAAAMN
Lonzo Ball you'll be on the list soon
The Mandela effect is strong w/ some of y'all. Sean Taylor was great but his legacy is so screwed up. A lot of people never saw him play live but they hear stories of his days at The U or watch some highlights on YT then they start repeating the G.O.A.T nonsense. If his life hadn't been cut short then he wouldn't have the crazy legacy. People talking nonsense about Ed Reed, Ronnie Lott, Deion Sanders, & Troy Polamalu to somehow slide Taylor onto the list or say he was a HoF shoe in if he didn't die. In reality Taylor isn't even top 20 in history.
Van Basten, regarded as one of the best strikers of all time, had his career cut short and ended up missing his peak years.
Yup
Spot on.
Jesus, not even mentioned!
he had 3 balon d'ors by the age of 27
and that was in the late 80s with legends like voller gullit maradona romario baggio etc playing
True where the fuck is van basten?
Why wouldn't they have Sean Taylor on this list?
it's fucking insane dude, Taylor could have done so much. And he was just a victim of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Exactly
He was gonna get robbed, but he got in his house and the robber shot him ;-;
+Ronaldo Mendoza I think every Sean Taylor fan knows this :(
What's even worse is that he was shot in a major artery. If his leg had been 1/2 inch to either side, we might still be watching him play today.
Dominic Lamphere I know man, it's heartbreaking.
What about Brandon Roy or Tracy Mcgrady?
Grant hill
penny hardaway
SmileHard360_lol tmac still good
Derrick Rose
Mcgrady was unreal. Never achieved what she should have.
What about Uncle Rico? Back in 82 he could throw a pigskin a quarter mile. He'd been an all time great with millions of dollars, living in a mansion with his soul mate, but coach wouldn't put him in.
But where's Sean Taylor
What sport did Sean Taylor play?
+alex davidson American Football
so right
Absolutely
i know right wtf
Calling it right now bo jackson is number 1
+RGKing nice
They forgot Sean Taylor
+WatchMojo.com I would say put Orr over Bo because as great of an athlete as Bo was. Orr changed the game more than anyone and would have been the GOAT in hockey had he played as long as Howe or Gretsky
+Tic TOC Toe I agree but they should of had Sean Taylor
Oh yeah definitely and Marc Savard
Sean Taylor? Really?! HOW COULD YOU HAVE FORGOT ABOUT HIM
The Portland Trailblazers could EASILY have at least three entries on this list: Brandon Roy, Greg Oden and Sam Bowie
And Bill Walton
And technically Drazen Petrovic too
i expected 1 and 2 to be Bo Jackson and Sean Taylor
Same
+ccrusegombio Bo certainly deserves to be #1, but not sure how Sean Taylor did not make the list at all.
+Lance Raiford Barry Sanders does
What about soccer player Ledley King? Here is his story:
Ledley King was one of the greatest defenders in Barclays Premier League and in the team of the year season after season. When he was 25 years old however, he received a horrific injury - the capsule of his knee was completely torn and when he was walking, the bones always rubbed on each other. Therefore King was forced to be ruled out of training during the week. He played until 2009 when he was 29 years old after a continuous enhancement of the condition and damage of his knee even more and more. Furthermore, he never played a full 90 minutes game after being found in this condition.
+spp6u7
Not even a mention for Sean Taylor?
True
Seriously! Only six seasons and he's still considers one of the greats!
+Alpha wolf no he played for 3
+Evan Gironda Sean was on his way to maybe best safety/DB of all time, definitely should be on here
Adrian Crow Sean Taylor played 3 seasons
yao mings is especially sad. arguably the most idolized athlete china has ever had, which is an insane accomplishment given chinese peoples expectations are super lofty of their kids and that they have 1.2 billion people.
he made the hall of fame so it's all good
more as an NBA ambassador though
he avreaged 20 and 10 get out of here
Scott Pantera yao Ming is one of my fav players ever
Scott Pantera and he's the second best center in the 21st century
ROBERTO CLEMENTE?
He was out of his prime, but the guy was batting .312 that year
He was 38 year old and played 18 seasons, not "cut short" enough.
It doesn't matter. He still had a few years in him. And he died trying to help hurricane victims.
@@jamesesterline 18 years isn’t cut short
if this was simply careers cut short, meek mill would have been number 1
LOL
Not really. Meek Mill became SOOOO much more popular since him and Drakes "fight" which was obviously planned out to make more money
Meek also didn't lose, where did you here he lost? 12 year old girls
+Philly Freak meek got verbally mollywopped.
+Philly Freak he lost when he got bodied by a singing nigga lmao
Phillip Hughes, An amazing Australian cricket player, Life cut short tragically by a hit to the neck, Rest In Peace Phillip.
LOL
Cricket. Seriously?
+Haz Rabbit Well that is the point of America we don't wanna know what is going in the world. just wanna live free and happy. Well of course we have jackasses thay keep dragging us in to the world. what ever though God bless America.
Indeed, I'm not against Americans at any way, I just didn't like how he disrespected it.
+Dark Gomamon crickets more popular than any American sport so....
Brazilian Ronaldo and Marco Van Basten should be on here
American channel and we don't care about soccer. It is what it is.
tripsaplenty you mean morons in America don't
biggerson51
No. I mean the vast majority of Americans. We don't like your game, get over it.
Ronaldo was old already he had hit his peak. Had a World Cup and played for the best club in the world at the time and arguably one of the best to this time. LOS SÚPER GALÁCTICOS "Real Madrid"
Sorry dude, they don't belong on that list. Everybody knows what Ronaldo was capable of doing. And van Basten was European Champion and is considered a legend.
Guys like Sandy Koufax, Bobby Orr, Mike Bossy and Yao Ming were among the greatest ever in their sport, and made the Hall of Fame despite their careers being cut short. We had seen them at their athletic peak, fulfilling their potential. For example, even despite his early retirement, a LOT of baseball fans consider Koufax as the greatest lefthanded pitcher of all time. Bobby Orr is considered the greatest defenceman of all time.
So shouldn't this list be limited only to those great athletes who didn't reach the true pinnacle of their career because they got injured or for other reasons? This is where athletes like Petrovic, Seles, Len Bias cand certainly Bo Jackson ome in. We did not get to see them at their absolute best.
For an additional athlete, I would also add Boston Celtics shooting guard Reggie Lewis, who was just a few years into his All-Star career when he died of a heart condition in 1993. Also Ralph Sampson, who was a great NBA big man in the mid-80's, but couldn't play too many years due to injuries.
Ed Vega you are gonna say Yao Ming was one of the greatest in basketball? you are crazy, i wouldnt even rank him top 20 all time
Well then answer this, Ayrton Senna 3 time world champion had a 10 year carreer and is still considered to be one of the best and most important drivers in the world, to only get an honnorable mention is ridiculous. The problem is not just american athletes this is only american sports, basketball the thing you foolishly call football, baseball and hockey that's it no real football, or any motorsports this is just plain stupid...
Cause guys like Orr Yao Ming and sandy Koufax could’ve had much longer and even greater careers had they not been cut so short
brandon roy was definitely snubbed out of this list
agreed
agreed
Sean Taylor too
+Will Harter and benji
+Burnout VW no doubt
Sean Taylor? The disrespect.
rip
These people are stupid for not putting sean talor
+T Orrent boy.
+T Orrent are you serious? How do you not remember Sean Taylor
+Lee Sipe i miss him
Silly list. A ten year career at the top level of any sport, even if it is ended by injuries, is not "tragically short".
Death can cause it to be tragically short, though.
30 even then was very young for a superstar NHLer to retire
"I'm the second best player in my own family." That's actually really sweet!
Sean Taylor?
Tracy McGrady?
Brandon Roy?
Jackson Ellis?
C'MON WATCHMOJO GET IT TOGETHER!!!
Jackson Ellis 😂
Classic American people. All-Time Greatest Early Retire was Marco Van Basten. He cuts career at age 28. He Also Won Ballon D'or
True
watchmojo is canadian
you are stupid
Tyler Smith why you attacked on me? I didn't insult somebody. Go Fuck Yourself.
+Sam Blas ... And Canada is on what Continent? :-p
What about Sean Taylor
What about the most overrated DB of all time? The kid was awesome but it wasn't until he died that all of a sudden the nonsense about him being a HoF, or the greatest ever, or the disrespect of other great Safeties or DBs started so they could find a reason to place Sean ahead of them.
How is Joe Delaney not on this list? AFC Rookie of the Year, KC Chiefs 1981 team MVP with over 1100 rushing yards at 4.8 yds/carry. His death showed what kind of man he was, but he never really got the chance to show how great he could’ve been as a player.
what about Eric Cantona he retired at 27 from injuries
He didn't retire from Injuries
He retired because french selectionner didn't pick to play world cup in 1998.
Dude what about Owen Hargreves? Injuries plagued such a great midfielder!
Or Alf Inge Haalane. Could've been one of the best Norwegian footballers ever. Sadly he met Roy Keane on bloodlust..
North American sports SNH
Where is Marco Van Basten? Oh, you are americans, I forgot.. You cant play the best sport in the world.
Football?
+Venus Canadians are still Americans
Errata corrige: northern americans
+Stefano Ruggiu American can be anyone from the 2 American contintents
+Stefano Ruggiu you can't appreciate the best sport in the world, American football
Can Now Add Jose Fernandez to the list. Rip 😔
Gary Romero I know he was my favorite pitcher still a marlins fan to this day
Gary Romero he could’ve been an all time great
where's Ernie Davis rb of the Cleveland Browns?
I think Daniel Bryan deserved an honorable mention
Who?
+Dead pool Um it is real? The only think fake about it is its storylines and punches and kicks. Its all scripted. The wrestling IS REAL. But if you believe that the legendary Mick Foley being thrown off a steel cage onto a table is fake, then sure, its fake ;)
+Gz3700 the word "fake" only means that the outcome has been predetermined, not that the activity is not dangerous. Being a Hollywood stuntman is fake too, but it is still pretty darned dangerous.
yes yes yes
+Dead pool Not to mention, fake or not it didn't stop them from putting Owen Heart's death on a similar sports list.
One that WatchMojo would like you to forget.
the fact Tracy McGrady wasn't mentioned is disrespectful. had the potential to be a top 5 player ever in NBA history
Ikr
He could've been the MJ of the 2000's
I was more upset that Brandon Roy wasn't mentioned. Guy never had a chance to have a prime.
+SERGIO SANCHEZ exactly
+Xentenon it's that his potential was cut way short by injuries. Just like Grant Hill. Yeah he played for a long time, but he could've been so much more. The video talks about careers being cut short, but I think he's talking more about the "what could've been" factor.
Didn't quite do Mike Bossy justice. Had 50 goals 9 of his 10 NHL seasons (10th was shortened by injury). Only one other player in history had 9 50 goal seasons, Gretzky, and it was over twice as many seasons
I know it's not a hockey list, but you could almost make a case for Lemieux too. Between the cancer and back pain so bad he couldn't bend over to tie his own skates before some games, and despite never playing his 1000th career game, he's still top 10 all time in NHL points. Imagine if he'd stayed healthy and had a full 20 year career
Sean Taylor ???
Tracy mcgrady ???
Brandon Roy ??
Thank you for putting Dražen on the list! He was a great man and player!
You forget uncle drew, a combination of arthritis and diabetes stopped him playing street ball. My guess was the Pepsi but ...
That's sad man ;-;
Oh no,I have a feeling that Uncle Drew will come back.
L
This was so fucking funny lmao
lmao
Ayrton Senna honorable mention?! Best driver ever lived.
He had a fairly long career before he died.
He would have had a few more years as a driver and then almost certainly another 20 years as a team owner, FIA official or ambassador
Could be because driving isn't a sport.
@@roguerook Racing IS a sport. You don't realize the toll that racing for several hours every weekend puts on the drivers. That goes for any of the major racing series, including F1, Indy, and NASCAR.
Rick Callahan my god people who are saying this soo dumb you couldn’t even drive a go kart for 15 minutes at full speed because it’s too exhausting. Now imagine driving at +300kph for almost 2 hours while talking to the engineer, battling other drivers and keep the car at good state and more. You would pass out after 10 minutes so shut up
That one with Sandy Koufax really gets to me, I got told I'd not be able to pitch again when I was about 15 after a few great seasons. I had to give up baseball altogether and I had been playing 11 years :(
Michael Owen, Duncan Edwards and Adriano
+Ashley Rumajar
Marco van Basten
Cantona
+Zlatan Ibrahimovic
so true.
Nedved, Ronaldinho, Brolin, Saviola.
Rinaldo de Lima?
+ThePunkerLive ronaldinho still plays
Though not one person in general, I would've pug Manchester United's Busby Babes on this list as a majority of the victims were in their 20s and had played very few matches
*put
aye mate, that team would have conquered europe
+JeeperCreeperMC
i agree
Arsenal fan and I agree Bobby charlton nearly quit as his best friend (who he said was better than him) died in the crash forgot his name thoughb
+Henry Swales duncan edwards
Where is Roberto Clemente
kristian veghte Roberto played 17-18 years & amassed 3,000 hits. He reached his potential. He died tragically. That's another list.
Anthony Ferrara He lost at least 5 years which would have produced more championships and raised his career stats and profile. The same with Lou Gehrig. They are the two most underrated players in baseball history because of their early deaths.
clemente was 38 and had a long career when he died in 1972. his passing was tragic but his career wasn't shortened as drastically as the others on the list.
Had Lou Gehrig been able to complete a "normal" career, he truly would have an unbeatable consecutive games played record.
Clemente and Gehrig are not underrated they are among the greats they simply both died tragiclly
I think that Terrell Davis should be on the list.
Was just thinking that. No RB in the Hall of Fame has more TD's than Davis in their first four seasons and only two had more yards. Definitely a great career cut short.
Trenton Popham nah Sean Taylor
Jaydog 1023 you are 100% right on that
First time I saw him run I thought, "Damn, this guy might be better than Barry Sanders." Too bad we'll never know.
Trenton Popham your right
you should have put Tracy McGrady
agreed
+Ege Karpuzoglu T-Mac and Brandon Roy should of been on this list.
true
+DBZfreakMBB yea and Barry sanders
+Ege Karpuzoglu tmac is still balling in the NBA isn't him?
Marco Van Basten?
2x Champions League
3x League titles with Ajax
3x League titles with Ac Milan
6x Best player of the year in Europe
3x Ballon D'or
At a age of 28 he played his last game because of Ankle problems
+Vincent Vandersypen 3x Ballon D'or isnt it?
+Arjun Dhaliwal Yeah sorry even 3
+Vincent Vandersypen They only care about American things on this channel.
True
was wondering .. btw i dont think it was ankle problems i think it was ACL issues
My guy Brandon Roy... so lucky to be from Wa State and got to see him in high school state tourney and then watch him lead my Huskies. Always mad love for B Roy
Gerald McClellan should be in this list. Two time world middleweight champ, got a brain injury fighting Nigel Benn and had to retire at 28
Duncan Edwards? Died in the Manchester United Munich air disaster.
100% agree with you
Would be World Cup winner.
Canadians don't give a rats ass about that shit
Ayrton Senna is a fuckin honourable mention?!
yes
let me guess... a product of the american public school system? NAPPI NOT 12
Who is Ayrton Senna? Can't be any better than Bo Jackson was tho
+Max McGowan
He was a Formula-1 champion.
+dan989 He was not a Formula 1 champion, he was the Formula 1 champion
Pelle Lindberg. Flyers Goalie who was on his was to becoming one of the all time greats !...
What about...Mark Ella (rugby), Tom Pryce, Francois Cevert, Ricardo Rodriguez, Peter Collins and Tony Brise (F1), James Taylor (cricket)
so guys Who play 10 or more years make the List? with so many great choices left out completely (like Sean Taylor) and not a Single soccer Player for instance? Come on, watchmojo, you can Do so much better!
*Football
+Actuallysweedish *Association football
fabrice muamba
true
+jay fowler true
Derrick rose will be here...soon
💀💀💀💀
+Toriono Newkirk 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Evan Lysacek
Angie Maniaci 😭
Rose playing better..
I miss you Aryton although I wasn't alive when you were racing, TRUE LEGENDS NEVER DIE, u are never forgoten
N.1 Abdalak Nouri
Story:
this midfielder joined the Dutch soccer club Ajax at 7 years of age. And quickly made his way to the third highest level in the club. Where he became a fan favorite.
Finally he played his first game of Ajax and did what the legends Cruijf and van basten did in there first game. He scored.
Sadly in the friendly pre season game against an Austrian club in the mountains he went into cardiac arrest and slipped into a coma.
Two weeks later he woke up, but he suffered brain damage so bad that his career ended at only 20 years old.
Oscar taverns at least should be an honorable mention and Ayrton Senna should be at least top 5
Taveras*
Nick Adenhart of the Angels too. kid died the same night he won his first MLB game.
+sam craig exactly even though senna died on the track he's still remembered as the greatest racer of all time
Absolutely, I also am astonished he's not here. But maybe he's not here because people die often in rally sports. If Ayrton Sena was here, then Colin McRae and Richard Burns also have to be here. Not to speak about so many greats died during Dakar Rally.
If we're going to mention race car drivers, how about Adam Petty or Kenny Irwin Jr., or Davey Allison?
They didn't put Oscar Taveras
Yeah
:( RIP Oscar, great talent lost too early
+Zavier Morin RIP :(
+Sahijpal Kambo I think the video came out a little before, but I completely agree. Hell, Darryl Kile too.
Why isn't it called "Top 10 American Sports Careers Cut Short" there's so many europeans careers cut short because of injuries and deaths for example Eric Cantona retired at the age of 27 or something and is still considered one of footballs greatest strikers ever...
Konstantinov should have been more than an honorable mention. He played a handful of seasons in Detroit before that wreck in 97, and he was a dominant D-Man for his era. Just look up some vids of him playing. He was a beast.
This is so weird. 2 days after this video was released, Ravens 2015 4th round pick, Tray Walker, was killed in a motorcycle accident. Tragic. RIP Tray.
Brandon Roy...I think he won rookie of the year he was a beast
J. R. Richard should at least have an honorable mention on this list
Marco Simoncelli, Daijiro Katoh, Nicolas Salom, Nicklas Feher, Alvaro Benito, Ruben de la Red, Antonio Puerta, Gabriela Sabatini, Martina Hingis, Jennifer Capriati, Guillermo Coria, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Greg Monroe, Andrew Bynum, Marat Safin, Royston Drenthe...
Guinness Sauron Jennifer Capprioti had a career.
Royston drenthe really? He still plays.. he threw away his own carreer after madrid... you must be joking. Better say Marco van basten. He had to quit early with a chronic ankle injurie.
Daniel Bryan
Amen.
Not a real sport
It's a fake sport
+Ryan Young lol, go ahead. Keep talking.
+Ryan Young scripted* sport... but the injuries are way real
The feels when I saw Yao Ming on the thumbnail...
He could have been one of the best NBA centers of all-time...What could have been
Where is Sean Taylor, he's my favorite player of all time
South Carolina's Marcus Lattimore could also be on this list, retired from two different ACL injuries in college
At least title your videos if they're all going to be American sports or 90%! If you're not going world wide, don't bother. Do some homework or stay away from Sports topics!!
right
Nah cuh
your good
This is an American CZcams channel. What did u think would happen
+joey tayler then call it, top 10 American sports careers cut short,, it's bull man how can the busby babes not be on here
Sports. That amazingly narrow definition that contains literally only baseball, basketball, american handegg and ice hockey
*Football
+Trevor Meeks *Handegg
+Sean Martens football*
+BMWM3GTRLOVER The Big 4, 4 of the 5 richest leagues on the planet and are watched in 2 countries.
+Sean Martens Football
Kenny Easley (The Current Pro Football Hall Of Famer) Will Be Included Since Kenny Played For The Seattle Seahawks In The 1980s And Retired In 1987 Due To A Severe Kidney Disease.
DO SOME RESEARCH. I take it you never seen The Express, how can you forget Ernie Davis. The first African American to win the Heismen Trophy and then gets drafted into the NFL but couldn't play because he gets Leukemia. He should have been number 1. Come on do some research, how good would have Ernie Davis been in the NFL?
Marco Van Basten retired at age 28 from world football. Also, how is Salvador Sanchez not mentioned as well, died from a car crash in 1982 and many thought could have been the greatest featherweight of all time.
1. Meek Mill
lol😄😄😄😄
Rap for like 14 years, nice try
+Asian Connection Foooooreal thou where he @ xD
Facts lol
Number one Album last year...
Where is Tracy McGrady????!!!!!
He retired at 34, so he already was out of his prime
If he hadn't retired early, he still wouldn't be a hall of famer.
Tracey McGrady and Yao Ming never played together while they were on the same team due to injuries. If they were both healthy, the Rockets would have been a dynasty!
Jules Bianchi ??
And Senna
Ernie Davis
Yes
thank you
you REALLY need to change a lot of the titles in sports top tens... just wright "north american sports" because the greatest sport in the world is football so you missed players like Marco Van Basten in this list
*write
their channel, their choice of titles and content
+Eduardo Grasso Get over yourself
"soccer" is for from the greatest sport. the only reason it's so popular is because no matter how poor you are you can make a net and get a ball and play soccer.
Go look at the voting page, he's on it.
Ledley King?
I wonder where Jose Fernandez would be on the list
What about Phillip hues the young opening battman who died on the pitch
Exactly
+kingbrad1234 To be fair he wasn't as good at cricket as Sterling Sharpe was at Football...
RIP Pat Tillman.
agreed
+Jim Ringo it isnt a list of greats that died. its a list of short lived careers. and he died early in his career
I know the video was published before but, José Fernández and Yordano Ventura
What about sean Taylor or I don't know if to count it because he eventually came back (but he never did anything) but mike Vick as well
How's Sean Taylor not on this list Dude got shot while being one of the best safety's in the nfl and becoming the BEST if he wasn't already
At least Yao Ming's legacy lived on as an internet meme.
+Ian Cabugsa Haha
Always look on the bright side of life.
This got me thinking about Brandon Burlsworth.
Bo was so amazing. He was the first person to ever play a professional sport with an artificial hip, and was probably the best athlete in human history.
Oh, the irony in that thumbnail.
Kristopher London!?!?
LSK
+Mark Riccio yeah he went through alot
I'm sorry but that's so ridiculous, he was good but not nearly as good as some of the players on here that should be on here. If you want a high school basketball player that had their career cut short then google benji Wilson. Just sayin, I don't see ESPN making documentaries on LSK
+I'm Lowkey (Superman) it's players who were the most likely to succeed in their sport but couldn't because of injuries or other reasons And I'd put Sean Taylor, pat Tillman, or benji Wilson above LSK in that category. Also if you're gonna call someone retarded, make sure you spell it right
Duncan Edwards? Died in Munich air disaster aged 21 and was tipped to become one of the greatest of all time, he had already proved he was one of the greats with Man United and could have achieved so much more.
How about Richard Zednik who gut his throat cut during the game?
Tracy McGrady?
+David Safadi what i thought - i was going to say he could've been top 3 SG's, but MJ, Kobe, D-Wade, T-Mac, no way I'm making that top 3 :p
+Nuno careers that were cut short… they had long careers
Chris Parris im not saying MJ Kobe and D-wade for the list. Just T-Mac, but still he had a long career yes, but could've been way better if it weren't for injuries
Penny Hardaway
Brandon Roy
How is Ayrton Senna, the greatest racer ever, not in the top 3?
I agree with number 1. Bo was so explosive, fast, talented, smart, STRONG and reactionary. He was unbelievable.
Sean Taylor, Penny Hardway, Tracy McGrady, or Grant Hill?
Can't believe y'all forgot the Legend Sean Taylor smh..R.I.P #21
Sean Taylor, favorite football player of all time rip
It's not a short career without Sean Taylor he could have been one of the best
There are a lot more so i guess there would be part 2?
