Trump behaves much worse than either of them. They were not hired they are elected members of congress, who in turn elected them to their current roles. They won't because they can't. Republicans could end this by telling any truths they might have and assisting the investigation. @@carlpainter9950 They are behind closed doors because the Justice Department cannot be trusted to run an investigation. They do not defend themselves at this stage because it is an investigation. When that process is complete they will decide if there is enough evidence to make a charge. So it is still an impeachment investigation and not a trial, which the senate conducts. At that point him and all his suck ups will have the chance to defend themselves. So it is far from a fiasco, it seems to be a well run investigation. And if you still believe that there was no Russian meddling in the election then you clearly watch too much Sean Hannity. Try watching some non right wing media or maybe some world news and you will easily find the truth. Innocent until proven guilty is still valid. So if Trump is innocent then why isn't he cooperating? Hide what exactly? How is Trump supposed to hide something with all of those others in the room with him? There weren't just Republicans in the room with the President. If the president revealed something the Dems might consider unlawful, that sure isn't going to stay in that room. It would end up leaked to the press.
