I do agree with the comments that They don't write soap operas like these anymore. Such a warm spirit about it and more love and romance mixed in with drama. They didn't constantly flip the scripts such as Y & R and The Bold and Beautiful. I don't get caught up in the emotions anymore because mostly all the characters say one damn thing yet do another. They are never true to their words..
Mitch was so much more attuned to Rachel and Mac’s timeless bond than Janice . As much as I disliked this storyline about Mac and Rachel divorcing , and then what transpired with Rachel and Mitch , and then What Janice started doing to poor Mac , it was interesting , and like Iris always said someone like her father who is not only handsome and wealthy , it’s only natural that women would flock after him . So maybe for me it wasn’t as far fetched as real life .
That scene with Rachael smiling as Mac left the room upset that she is interested in MItch Blake was priceless especially since he at the time had committed himself to Janice the black widow.. Rachael had realized that Mac still loves her which is why he is still trying to control whom she dates. This is when first started noticing how beautiful she was and also in spirit.. Such a radiant sparkling sexy smile. I use to despise Rachael for the way she treated Alice .. I didnt think she deserved Mac and or living in that mansion. Years earliar she was trying to steal Alices's house that Steve Frame built specifically for her.
Rachael seem to be very happy with her life at this time. it was Mac who is upset that Racheal is moving on wth Potentially Mitch Blake. She was giddy at his reaction of her interest in Mitch Blake and the fact that Mac is jealous especailly considering he had committed himself to Janice the black widow. A week or two after this episode Racael began to suspect that Janice was poisoning Mac and she was right. Rachael tried to get Iris to check on him because of his supposed flu like symptons but Iris wasn't hearing anything against Janice due to her overwhelming hatred for Rachael .. Rachael at this time in febuary early March was desperately trying to save Mac and she made the ultimate sacrifice by sleeping with Mitch to remain on Mac's trail as she was homing in on Mac's whereabouts knowing that Janice was poisoning him. She had the sexiest bright smile.
Such a silly conversation between Racheal and Clarice with all the questions about MItch Blake and the hears says of what Ada says.. But Clarice always meant well. I remember she had Robert Delaney's son years ago.. Cory.
Just a guess that this is Ep3932 - Friday, 4 January, 1980. Ada married Charlie on the 7th (a Monday), so the day before is probably that previous Friday.
Such a great time for Another World...I guess, soaps in general. They don't write stories like this anymore, unfortunately.
I had no idea Rachael & Mac had such a tumultuous marriage / divorce, remarriage, etc. Such a storied history.
