Oingo Boingo - Take Your Medicine (Fan Made Extended Mix)

This song's interesting as it's from the same sessions where Oingo Boingo's 1985 studio album "Dead Man's Party" was recorded, but it was cut from the album. It didn't even stop off during the demo stages, it was a full on completed outtake from the album.
Luckily the song did see the light of day as it appeared on the 1986 charity compilation album "Live! For Life" by Oingo Boingo's former label I.R.S. Records, which by this point moved distribution from A&M Records to MCA. Oingo Boingo themselves were also signed to MCA outside of I.R.S. by the time "Dead Man's Party" was released, so there's that.
This track does resurface on the 2021 Rubellan Remasters CD release of "Dead Man's Party" as a bonus track, which is where I've sourced the audio from.
Originally I planned on doing an extended mix of the title track from "Dead Man's Party", but while working on it a bit I just couldn't get myself to do it because I simply didn't think I would've been able to pull it off. "Take Your Medicine" was the next best thing, but maybe someday I'll revisit "Dead Man's Party" and actually make that extended mix as whatever I'd envision it.
Anyway, in terms of how I've made this extended mix, it's pretty much the same process as what I've done with the two previous Boingo extended mixes I've made. I used the Demucs4 HT Ai separation tool that's available on mvsep.com to extract the vocals and instruments, and then I played around with each of the separate tracks I extracted alongside the original unedited track in Audacity to create the final product that you're listening to right now.
