My dad has a mail order bride from Brazil she's a year younger than me and in 20 years I've only met her once, even though I see my dad all the time. They even have 3 kids I've never met, she took the kids to visit a friend in 2006 and hasn't come back. It's an insane long convoluted story that I wouldn't believe if I weren't living it.

My (now dead) brother tried mail order brides 5 times. He beat at least one or two of them daily (his neighbor who was a co-worker of mine heard it all & let me know what was going on). I confronted him & of course he denied, denied, denied. With the last 3 he moved them to a different state & we rarely heard from him after that, which didn't hurt my feelings at all. Then he died which REALLY didn't hurt my feelings. Now his son is on his 3rd marriage....we'll see what happens with him.

90 day fiancé isn’t a true representation of international dating, if it was it would be a boring program. 8 out of 10 would be normal couples that are good match intellectually, in appearance and in age, who will still be married during the decades to come.
The official long term divorce rate is only 20% in America and less in some other western countries. Most international marriages are far more successful than local ones, if they have realistic expectations.... eg :- Not a socially inept creepy old guy looking for an attractive young woman who’s desperate to escape her country.
I just can't understand the whole mail-order bride thing. I mean ,I could see if you talk for a while ,and you actually are compatible ,and then you bring the woman here ,but just ordering a woman like ordering food is no way to start a relationship of any kind! That's not quite how it works. You don't just pick someone, pay money and have her delivered. That would be human trafficking. It's basically a dating site for correspondence. And the guy is usually required to travel to said country atleast once. Before the woman decides if she wants to go

I know my aunt (she has a degree in dentistry) became a mail order bride to go to Germany since she is the oldest child, she saw it as her responsibility to take care of her 7 younger siblings when they lost their parents early. They were from a middle class family but when my grandparents died, they didn't know what to do, they didn't know how to make ends meet with their limited resources.
