I started a business 17 years ago, it took me the best part of 10 years to realize that customer's don't set the payment terms. It's your business, you tell them when you want paying, all this 30, 60 & 90 day terms are best left to the multi million pound companies (not you) you make your own rules. Once you realize that, you will make more money, with less hassle and stress. And you get to spend more time with the family and enjoying yourself. I used to hate thinking I was getting home on a Friday. Get the missus all hyped up, plan my weekend. Friday morning the phone would ring, always when I was a couple of hours from Calais. Trailer swap in Calais, head back down to Italy for a Monday tip. Good money but tedious.

Having a look at the map really surprised at the absence of crossing points from Spain to France - I see mention of 'Pyrenees' along the border so assume the mountains create a natural barrier. Looks like even Hannibal kept to the flatter going over near the water and hills didn't much deter him lol! Appreciate you haven't gone overboard on the time lapse vision with the 'speed up' still letting us take in the scenery and traffic. Enjoyed.

When I first started I had to put my Invoices through a Factoring service. Yes they would take there percentage but it kept me going until I had built up a reasonable bank balance. Trucking is hard going but given the choice I would still go it alone just for the challenge.
Really pleased to see things are going good mate, but don’t try a achieve something that’s not really possible,,, there’s always consequences, & you don’t need them. Just stay safe 👍
I lived in the Alicante region for nearly 2 years , had my own pool cleaning business, and yes, the iva is a pain in the arris 😂, and they have loads of red days ( national bank holidays where it is illegal to get your staff to work) but they also have regional days off too which varies from region to region , I'm back in the UK now , going to get my class 1 licence and earn more money working for someone else 🤷🏻♂️
Fuse out Friday to get back used to be a regular good luck to you mate it's at times the best job in the world and one of the hardest most lonely things you can do to make a few quid.

Bank holiday friday 12pm MIDNIGHT untill monday 10pm in dusseldorf i loved it parked at the hotel in there car park and a wedding on sunday i just walked in sunday afternoon they thought i was part of the guests lovely food and champaign . all free i was just staying in this hotel .
What you said about cashflow. When the work is gauranteed, its a case of taking out a loan, so you you can pay for costs, and let the profits chip away at the loan. But on the flipside, that is a dangerous game in itself if you lose the work and servcing a loan costs money in interest. It is why most companies operate in debt.
Got to consider too, take a big pay job on 30 days, maybe 90 days till you get paid. There's a possibility you never get paid if that company hits cash flow issues or even worse while you wait.
You say it’s bad that Europe won’t let you drive over the bank holiday weekend but isn’t it bad that in the uk it’s just expected of us? I say that as a driver who is working Friday-Tuesday this weekend coming for no extra bank holiday pay as it’s my rota shift so maybe I’m just a smidge bitter 😂 Love the vids dude

I’m thinking you need a couple of spare trialers plus employing 1 Spanish driver and 1 Italian driver owner drivers throw that in the mix and think outside the box

Seen someone comment on your Facebook post earlier saying the other driver is doing the donkey work, far from it, personally I think it’s perfect for someone just starting in European driving it’s exactly what you’d want to start off, getting used to the tunnel/ferry, driving abroad etc. Getting used to it all first instead of being thrown straight in the deep end, keep it up mate 👌🏼 smashing it so far

A good credit facility helps your cashflow. Make it a priority to pay off credit as soon as you get paid, no interest.
David have you thought about invoice factoring? 1 invoice a month might be worthwhile 👍
