    Thank you for all the techniques on the process of sail setup. They are great.
    As a life long sailer and a former worker at a boat yard and yacht basin, I understand rigging. I recommend you research proper use of the stainless steel rigging from a sail boat prospective to get maximum reliability from your hardware. There is room for improvement.

      Thanks for your kind words! Rest assured the installation techniques described in this video are optimal for the longevity and reliability of Shade Sails and their hardware! Take care.

      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před 6 měsíci

      We're glad to hear that you are interested in Shade Sails! Our shade fabrics range from 340gsm (grams per square meter) to 430gsm. They can be light or heavy depending on your needs!

    Do you use springs with your sun shades? I'm in a high wind area and I put a high-tension spring on mine, but it does move more because of it. Is that bad?

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před 6 měsíci

      Great questions and an interesting design! Our goal is for our fully-tensioned shade sails to remain stationary at all times, even in high wind events. This is why we use our tensioning devices to get the Sails tight like a drum!

    Can you install the clips on vinyl siding?

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před rokem

      Hi @pamelasobek1357 you can certainly anchor through vinyl siding into the structure of your home. We recommend anchoring into a minimum of 4" of substantial material to adequately support the forces a properly tensioned shade sail creates.

    Did you angle it ? I’m not sure if I need to for rain

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před 6 měsíci

      Great question! Angling your Shade Sail can help water to trend toward and run off a specific corner. If the Shade Sail is not angled, the water will still drain through the permeable shade fabric.

    Can you anchor a sail to Fascia?
    I have a brick home and don't want to drill into it.

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před měsícem

      @messageswithmarni5706 unfortunately not. Our sails are tensioned which results in static loads of around 200lbs per anchor point. We recommend a minimum of 3" of structural substance to anchor into. Our brick anchors are amazing - minimal size and easy to install. Give us a call if you'd like to learn more - 1-855-899-8290

    what happens when wind blows tree around

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před 6 měsíci

      Great question Bill! The movement at the top of the tree should not have enough of an effect on the base of its trunk (where we have anchored) to affect the structural integrity of the Shade Sail.

    I made the mistake of ordering a shade the width of my deck to attach to the wall. It does noes work because on one end is the eves or soffit. I wish someone would have had a video how to install over a deck with impediments. My goal was not only sun block, but also some water block. I set the out post in the wrong place as well. Example shade is 14x 14. I place the plat 14 apart. The shade flapped in the wind, next day bad wind storm came up. So diy is a bust for me. Make a video on where to place the eyes based on size of shade over a deck please. Maybe someone else want waste their time and money.

    4:09 M8 or M10 Turnbuckles?

    • @ShadeSailsCanadaTV
      @ShadeSailsCanadaTV  Před 22 dny +1

      M8 (5/16") is sufficient for most sails under 40'. Have a look at our hardware:

    the triangle ones look like a g-string for your deck, they also don't cover much, Id rather use the square ones.

      Well said Steve! 4-point Shade Sails effectively double the shade coverage!
