Hi, I’m really enjoying your channel. Thanks for all of your helpful advice! I’m new to the travel business and apart of a host agency that has an MLM component but it’s not required. For example, I only focus on selling travel. Same for my other friends. And many people are on the marketing side too where they bring people in. I just wanted to point this out as I wouldn’t say MLM is wrong. But I definitely think people need to know what they’re getting into if they join one. Personally I don’t do MLMs at all. I used to yearssss ago and it wasn’t my thing.
I plan to go out on my own one day once I have been doing this for a while. But right now I am really enjoying the weekly trainings and being able to use my host agency’s credentials and not having to do any of those things on my own.

WOW Thank you for this video! Just getting started but you talked about MLM agencies. I warned friend to stay away from them but she insisted that it was legit. Did not turn out that way. And then joining a franchise their cut is just too much to make decent money. I finally found something that fits me so I will join them in the future .

I almost joined a Host agency. I found this information and have definitely put that on HOLD!
Hi There! There is nothing wrong with using a host but you need to know the right questions to ask during the interview process to ensure they are a good fit for you & your travel business! I would say about half of our community starts with a host. Within our program, we offer a list of vetted host agencies that we work closely with!

I am new. I am an air booking agent for a cruise line and it has been so frustrating because of the post covid pilot shortage, people are getting so upset and they tackle me like it is my fault because there are not as many available seats to get to the cruises. So, I decided to do away with the pessimism, and reframe my entire mental state to a positive landscape, the trick is conveying that to the travel agents that call in. Some of them are just so damn rude and obnoxious, how do you fix this?

I am trying to break into the traveling world.
I just left my job in November 2022 ... it was the perfect job... until it wasn't. I was a Flight Attendant for 26 years!!!!! I understand travel and know a lot about travel, NOT EVERYTHING, and I know that I still have a LOT to learn. I want to know what I am jumping into. I want to know what my finances are going to be like. I want to know if I'm going to have to pay thousands of dollars up front just to get started. I have so many questions, and nobody to talk to. And the people who are trying to "sell me" on the idea, or on "their" school, they are trying to make a sell and I don't think they are being completely truthful with me.

can I display my favourite destination or programme on my own web which is connected with a host agency? Or will I be stuck with the host-preferred offers in the highlighted ones?
I see that most of the host agencies look American and feel American and Im from Scandinavia and the trends or culture of tourism are different.
Hi There!
Everyone has their own niche so if Scandinavia is yours, then run with it! You will be able to market on your socials for your target audience to attract the right clients for you. Your host will have to be registered with suppliers in Scandinavia but once you have that squared away, you should be able to book!

@@wanderlustceo I didn't even know what a host agency was until today! lol I'm researching options. I want to learn more about the industry since it's so complex. Maybe take a course. I'm a freelance writer right now so I know what is required to run my own business, but working under someone else's brand in a new field temporarily would be helpful. I could learn, gain experience, build a clientele. I would also have the reservation/payment technologies with a host. But I'm just starting the research!
