After 30 years Jean Claude Van Dam finally said yes to Ed Boon lol… for those who dont know MK is based of the movie Blood Sport with JCVD, and Ed tried to get him to play the character and he said no. So Johnny Cage was born with the moves of JCVD

genuine question here, my buddy plays geras and spams the stomp combo that leads to either a tackle i can block or a command grab that is only dodgeable if i duck ( i can counter it but it is inconsistent ) but generally as a johnny player how do i deal with someone who abuses geras grabs? any other person i fight it turns into a read match up and we are throwing combos out and seeing what is blocked or hit. This is the first time ive been getting into a Mk game seriously rather than casually

I tried to upblock his jump in but he empty jumped and punished with a grab which do more damage when they counter an upblock. Hope I explained it well🙏
So you were holding down the block button while looking upwards and he threw you while doing so? Does this mean if I just holding down the block button while standing (but I do not holding down the up button as well), an attack coming from the air won't be blocked?@@Xombat
@@woszkar upblock is a new mechanic that you can do by pressing up while holding block, it makes most jump ins punishable but has a lot of recovery. When you grab someone out of upblock, the throw will do more damage because of the punish. Hope I explained it well🙏
Hey Xombat Which one is your favourite johnny version, mk9, mkx, mk11 or this one ?
I liked all of them a lot while MK X being my least favorite. My order was MK 11, MK 9, MK X but MK 1 Johnny so far is incredibly fun and feels like MK 9 Johnny Part 2. I’d say same order except MK 1 and 11 might be tied, love the character more then ever🙏
