    Thank you. I had to do this the second after install and best buy left. It takes a while for the drain pan to fill so they didn't catch it dripping from the water line. They simply didn't tighten it enough, so I had to. Perfect fix that saved me frustration and a call back.

    I have a KA dishwasher (7years) old (KDTE204DWHO) flashing a 8-4 and 6-4 code- finally got it fixed. (It would fill go partway through the wash cycle then shut off. ) I had to shop vac the water out. Unplug from wall. turn off water. Then pull machine out and turn it on it's side twist off discharge pump(had solid debris in it and stuff wrapped around impeller shaft. But the real difference was made when we cleaned out the discharge hose it had all kinds of chunks of stuff that was sloughing off creating a clog and slowing down the draining cycle then the unit would time out and lights would go off too. Spent too much time listening to those who didn't know shite. Got the best advise from a guy in the UK. Best of luck and cheers! PS There is a foot valve that is hidden in the 90 degree rubber boot on one side of the discharge hose on one end.

    What really helped me was seeing you do it by disassembling the censor. I had tried to tighten the feed hose from the side and it was leaking. When I did it your way, it threaded up considerably more and the leak ended. Thanks for posting this

    This is way too complicated for me. I've got this error code the very first time I used the full cycle on this machine. I have only used Express before because the stupid cycles are so long. The beeping is making me crazy. Should I just hit the Cancel button twice or cycle power. That is in the instructions for Self Installers on the Error Codes page. But I'm not a Self Installer, just a person. The machine is still making noises like it's trying to work but the beeps are still going. Thanks for any help!

      @@robertovelasco6320 There is a pan that fills up with soapy water and sets off the sensor that gives the code. I just cleaned up the pan and sensor and it runs ok. I received a recall parts notification replacement but I can't fined the paper. If I run a high temp wash cycle it leaks again, so I just run a normal wash and sani rinse and it works just fine.

  • @HVACENGINEER94
    @HVACENGINEER94 Před 5 měsíci +1

    if the heating element for the dishwasher has brass ends it forms a catalyst with the stainless steel tank, corroding the brass connectors of the heating element, causing water to leak into the pan, tripping the code. It is a recall call KitchenAid have them replaced the heating element if that is your case.

    Cleared the code. It keeps coming back. This is not newly installed. It has been in use for months. The disposal was plugged, which the dishwasher drains through. Now that the drain is cleared, it won't clear codes.

    Big mistakes in editing! Please add the missing the voice-over on the first half; "THIS IS THE DRIP TRAY" .... "NOW I AM DRAINING THE DRIP TRAY INTO THE SINK", "THIS IS THE FLOAT CONNECTION - A BAD CONNECTION HERE CAN ALSO CAUSE THIS ERROR". And move the re-assembly sequence to after the water line connection check - now you have it scrambled to show him closing it up before he checks the water line. The second half with the voice-over is great.

    What a terrible video. Explain what causes the error, what sensor it's related to before you just start sharing fix instructions. This is a terrible method of troubleshooting.

    • @adriandavis3908
      @adriandavis3908 Před 7 měsíci

      Same exact "troubleshooting" from KitchenAid's website. Mine won't clear the code. Hit the Cancel button twice and it goes silent for about a second and a half and then resumes the obnoxious error chime and blinking code lights. Unplugging it makes it quiet, but it resumes as soon as it's plugged back in. I think mine is defective.
