I can see myself coming home from school and starting to play 1 or 2 normal games. When night came, 9 p.m., start playing some ranked, to go up to gold 3. To play in the position you wanted, you needed to be quick and write in the chat "mid pref, supp pref". I used to play support, I remember using sona, nami, janna. My PC was running at 25 or 30 fps, and I still enjoyed the game, there wasn't much toxicity back then. And on the weekends? It was time to watch the LCS, team curse, tsm, and then continue playing ranked all weekend. More than 10 years have passed since all those moments that will never come back, and the passage of time surprises me a little more every day. We were happy with so little.

Always a feeling of bittersweet watching these videos.This game really was a remarkable experience to me. I remember running home from school to play this and read the lore of the champions I was going to save up to buy. Twisted treeline with my best friends at 30 fps cause my pc was shit. Playing hide and seek for hours on the dominion map. Boot enchantments. Feral flare. Old kayle. Old Aatrox. It's kind of wild to think i've been playing this game on and off for a decade now. But I will always remember and cherish those memories of the first few years. Pure enchantment and enjoyment.
Man this was so good at the time and it still is. For me this was peak league. The map, environment, graphic everything just screams of "I want to play it". They have to return this.

The glaring thing about this is that Riot lies all the time and even pays streamers to steer public opinion as an example old swain where x streamers say he was totally weak( but never played him) but he was an absolute monster much like old ryze. Tanky with a lot of damage and self-healing. Players find cool ways to play a champ and riot deletes it right away. This behavior caused the game to lose a lot quality

Even relatively new times of league (well fuck, it's s7-s9 to me) were something different, not soulless yet, but for sure different. It truly is soulless today, league is not heading towards anything, over the years summoners rift lost its sense, there's not a mysterious forest with aura of uncertainty and danger. It's sterile, money driven soulless arena. League is of course the best game it have ever been, there's no denying that, but riot's direction to make everything clear, competetive and minimalistic (idk if i mean it, but i think its something like that) makes it all just so bland and uninteresting. It's prettier for sure but it lost it's spirit, which is sad to me personally. I think that's the trend to make everything like that (still cannot find the fitting word). You can see that in for example titanfall franchise, I loved the grittiness of Titanfall 1, and when Titanfall 2 came sterile (i still absolutely loved it) i enjoyed it for a while and missed the climate I've fallen with in the first time. Bro jungling back then took a phd. I started the game in open beta in 2009 and other than ww you basically had 4 champs could jungle without dying to the jungle creeps. Half the time when you went to gank you were at 1/2 hp lol. Health pots were literally essential. The jungle role was so frustrating back then

Old league had something mysterious about her, the chilling, ancient vibe that new league from 2017-today never have. Nowadays there are tutorials EVERYWHERE, guides EVERYWHERE. Back then people werent actually know how to properly play league, thats why it was so fun. Today people playing league just to prove themselves, to have solokills, to play braindead champs,... just to win. League was so much fun back in 2013-2017 anyway.
i played league 10 years ago, 2014-present. Seeing how the game drastically be worse and worse (although there are some good things, i admit). The gameplay couldnt be amusing like this anymore, everything is about waves, gold, kills, item, braindead playstyles and champions,...Back then people dont actually understand how to control the waves and many other things.

Comecei a jogar de vdd na s3 depois do rework do Master YI, eu amava esse jogo, hoje em dia parece que eu jogo só por jogar mesmo, passar o tempo, não tenho mais aquela paixão que eu tinha antes, jogo parece meio sem alma, te obrigam a fazer build padrão, se teu personagem off meta tá no meta eles nerfam pra jogar na lane que eles querem, era super divertido fazer antes sla um Ezreal Ap ou até um Shen AP mid, coisa que nunca funcionaria hoje em dia, tomaria nerf em aspectos específicos pra não funcionar de jeito nenhum nem pra se divertir, as skins parecem tudo a mesma coisa, hoje em dia é muito fácil confundir os personagens pq as skins são cheias de brilho e particulas que atrapalham a gameplay, antes o maximo que a gente tinha disso era o EZ Pulsefire, Lol tentou se separar demais da sua origem que era no DOTA original e acabou se perdendo no caminho, oque resta para nós é só a saudades dos dias divertidos jogando esse jogo.
Great season before the ugly map visual update and the other bs changes, This had Great music, Sounds, And atmosphere, It was cozy. Now the game is full of tryhards, Gay anime skins, And over complicated boring new champs.

Graphic is like warcraft II and III, cartoonish and cozy, i would prefer a design like this any day over this high graphic stuff right now. It just felt different. It truly did. And not forget about winter map which we didnt get for like an eternity. And some people dont even know about the blackmarket event mode that was purely made because of GP rework. Or Hexakill on Twisted Treeline lol that was chaotic. Or Dominion where you could play any champ freely to get away from Summ Rift. Or the Nexus Blitz feeling when it was released for the first time. Or the very very old aram map with the same cartoonish look and a black background, 98% wont remember that because compared to the playedbase now like 2% played in Beta to S2 Or the old Sion "Who's your summoner" voiceline. Or Volibear randomly jumping on the ARAM map when he was reworked and everyone got the eye skin for free. Or even the old twisted Treeline map, people barely know this map existed and what it looked like
remember when the game didn't tell you what to build? i miss starting boots 3 pots and a ward on most every champ every position lol. guess it's more convenient now but builds were wild back when nobody knew what was actually optimal to build
believe it or not this is actually high elo gameplay. If I had to guess the rank I'd say platinum1- diamond5, which is absolutely insane for the time period.

The game was darker, more serious and made you want to play. It's no longer this big shit that it is here in the Brazilian community, a bunch of sensitive people who made the ban a reason for absolutely anything written in the chat. I stopped playing for these reasons.
I started during open beta back in 2009. Even by my standards, 2016 League was forshadowing things to come. Thankfully i abandonded it. IF (don't hold your hopes) Rito launched classic 2011-2013 server i'll be on playing my favorite MF, Akali, Morde and Soraka.
The music. The environment. The champs. The nostalgia. The game had so much sense back then.

I have no nostalgia for it and i think its better too. Didnt play until recently watched a few friends play it back in the day though.
I always loved the difficulty of jungling with non junglers such as Mundo. His clear was fast if you played him well.
I have nostalgia and I don't think so. The Jungle camps like Red & Blue now look a lot better and their designs fits the Red & Blue way more.

Lembro como se fosse ontem a primeira vez que um amigo de escola me apresentou o lol,, 2012.. por ai, era tão divertido, elo não era uma coisa importante, o jogo era mais simples, tudo fazia sentido. Hoje em dia eu ainda jogo, mas o jogo perdeu a magia.

Total, fico aqui passando meus tempos vendo esses vídeos antigos, mas oque já foi já foi, infelizmente.. Comecei a jogar de vdd na s3 depois do rework do Master YI, eu amava esse jogo, hoje em dia parece que eu jogo só por jogar mesmo, passar o tempo, não tenho mais aquela paixão que eu tinha antes, jogo parece meio sem alma, te obrigam a fazer build padrão, se teu personagem off meta tá no meta eles nerfam pra jogar na lane que eles querem, era super divertido fazer antes sla um Ezreal Ap ou até um Shen AP mid, coisa que nunca funcionaria hoje em dia, tomaria nerf em aspectos específicos pra não funcionar de jeito nenhum nem pra se divertir, as skins parecem tudo a mesma coisa, hoje em dia é muito fácil confundir os personagens pq as skins são cheias de brilho e particulas que atrapalham a gameplay, antes o maximo que a gente tinha disso era o EZ Pulsefire, Lol tentou se separar demais da sua origem que era no DOTA original e acabou se perdendo no caminho, oque resta para nós é só a saudades dos dias divertidos jogando esse jogo.

Great season before the ugly map visual update and the other bs changes, This had Great music, Sounds, And atmosphere, It was cozy.
Now the game is full of tryhards, Gay anime skins, And over complicated boring new champs.
The game had so much more charm back then

Graphic is like warcraft II and III, cartoonish and cozy, i would prefer a design like this any day over this high graphic stuff right now. It just felt different. It truly did. And not forget about winter map which we didnt get for like an eternity.
And some people dont even know about the blackmarket event mode that was purely made because of GP rework.
Or Hexakill on Twisted Treeline lol that was chaotic.
Or Dominion where you could play any champ freely to get away from Summ Rift.
Or the Nexus Blitz feeling when it was released for the first time.
Or the very very old aram map with the same cartoonish look and a black background, 98% wont remember that because compared to the playedbase now like 2% played in Beta to S2
Or the old Sion "Who's your summoner" voiceline.
Or Volibear randomly jumping on the ARAM map when he was reworked and everyone got the eye skin for free.
Or even the old twisted Treeline map, people barely know this map existed and what it looked like

believe it or not this is actually high elo gameplay. If I had to guess the rank I'd say platinum1- diamond5, which is absolutely insane for the time period.

i am ww main since season 2 ww never needed 5 health pots for a game maybe 1 or 2 at best XD

The game was darker, more serious and made you want to play. It's no longer this big shit that it is here in the Brazilian community, a bunch of sensitive people who made the ban a reason for absolutely anything written in the chat. I stopped playing for these reasons.

I started during open beta back in 2009. Even by my standards, 2016 League was forshadowing things to come. Thankfully i abandonded it. IF (don't hold your hopes) Rito launched classic 2011-2013 server i'll be on playing my favorite MF, Akali, Morde and Soraka.
