Its so good to see you looking happy again Dave. Ive been there with you through those dark days , your operations , and pesonal issues you had. and I will always be there until the very end of every video you do. What I love about your channel is you are down to earth and a genuinely really nice bloke. I wish you all the happiness your little heart desires, you deserve it ❤❤❤
Big thanks Keren. Means a lot 🙏🏻
Just reading through the comments Dave. They prove how loved & respected you are.
You are an inspiration to so many people.
At times it's been sad watching your camps over the years..All beautifully and consistantly filmed but the inner turmoil was obvious.
I hope you found comfort and strength from getting out in to the mountains and from the thousands of people who watch your channel. We were all with you in spirit and always will be.
How you dragged yourself up to some of those summits and kept going is all down to your character and inner strength.
We look forwards now to better things hopefully.
This film was brilliant and positive....and cold😂
Thanks for bringing it to us and hope there are many, many more to come..but always on your terms
Take care mate👍
The great comments on here have been a massive help during some very difficult times. Hopefully my videos have maybe help others in a small way with their troubles. Big thanks for your support Simon. Means a lot 🙏🏻
Brilliant stuff, as always. (Apart from the Bounty bar - a definite no to that). Seriously though - you mention the 'dark' times on the mountains. I guess that whilst they can't make issues go away the mountains can provide the space for perspective and provide some solace. It is great that you are feelings so much more positive about the future. I, like so many others, wish you continued happiness and look forward to joining you on many more adventures.
Really appreciate that Martin. Big thanks 🙏🏻
Delta Ground Anchors are great when you need an extra bit of security. The harder the opposite force is on them, the more they pull into the ground 👌 Great video Dave ATB
Our patented and design protected DELTA GROUND ANCHORS are an innovative tent peg and effective method of securing your tent.
Delta Ground Anchors have many distinct advantages over conventional tent pegs, including an increased surface area for resistance and a remote point of attachment to minimise leverage. 🤷
Personal preference 😂
Superb Vlog 🙏👌
Try get them in frozen turf
I never go out without them if high winds are forecast, outstanding product.
Dave, that medley of drone shots was absolutely breathtaking! I've said it a million times, we're all eager to jet off abroad, but we have absolutely fantastic scenery here at home. The Lake District, Devon, Cornwall, Pembrokshire, Snowdonia, the New Forest, the Peak District, the Scottish Highlands, and many, many more. Fantastic! 👌
Edit: It's really great to hear that you've overcome your health issues 👍👍👍
Absolutely Curt. Really appreciate your comments of support. Big thanks 🙏🏻
Thanks as always Dave. Great camp, but bet you can't wait for some Spring/ Summer camps coming up on the horizon! Best wishes, matt
Cheers Matt. I do enjoy winter but conditions not been great this year. ATB 👍
What a wonderful reminder to slow down and appreciate the simple moments in life. Thank you for sharing this uplifting content!
Really appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏻
I have a selection of different pegs but I always carry at least two Delta pegs, they are rock solid and don’t budge if used correctly.
CZcams takes me to impressive Scottish mountains, to Bavarian mountains, where I used to live, to the fascinating and awe-inspiring Himalayan mountains, but nothing compares to be taken to the Cumbrian fells, where I was born. My Lake District CZcams guys never fail to make me happy.
Thank you for that.
❤
I actually do look into the description box now and again, but mostly in search of the music used in the video. And I always watch to the very end 😊.
Haha. Big thanks ML 🙏🏻. Glad you enjoyed it. VBW

Some acronyms I have to goggle. So among many other things VBW can mean "voluptuous beautiful women" :). I"ll take "very best wishes" though. 😂
Take care
Elvira
@medievalladybird394 😮🤣👍
Another great video with amazing drone footage. So glad things are on the up for you (I remember your little candle on some of the other camps) - onward and upward. I love watching your lakes & local walks as I walk in these areas so I can discover new routes & get inspiration - your Scotland videos were good too but I don’t tend to head that way.
BTW - if you started in April then March should be your last camp - 12 camps per 👍🏻👏🏻
Thanks Kim. Really appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed the video 🙏🏻
Look forward to the future now Dave, you put on a brave face for us and soldiered on.all the very best for the future
Much appreciated Harry 🙏🏻
So glad to see you managed to get out in Feb and keep up the challenge ! Bring on April !! Looked bitter in the morning mate good on you for getting the camera out to show us all 👌🏻👌🏻
Cheers bud 👍
Delta pegs are bombproof Dave, awesome for the corners, you only need 4 tho 👍🏻
Dave, this is one of the best, esp for the genuine comments at the end. I wont harp on too, as many others have echoed the sentiments more eloquently, but it's genuinely great to hear you say better times are ahead. Made my day seeing you say that on a vid. More power to uou Dave ATB! 💪
Big thanks Nick. Very much appreciated 🙏🏻
So Glad Dave..That life, once again is being kind to you. 👍 What ever you do, get out there and enjoy yourself. 🙂 You are a great guy and you deserve it. ..Looking forward to your next camp ⛺️x
Big thanks 🙏🏻
Always a good watch your vids are mate 👍🏼
I had no idea about that path up to Dollywagon, I’ve always gone up the vertical hill just before the tarn 🫣🤣 nice to learn it’s there for next time. Cheers Dave another great video.
Haha. One for next time eh 👍. Glad you enjoyed it and ATB 🙏🏻
Fantastic video and great drone footage and pictures, it’s a privilege to watch your channel Dave thanks for all the hard effort you put in, take care mate 👍👍
Big thanks Mark. Very much appreciated 🙏🏻
Hey dave I agree on the delta pegs. Haven’t used them but personally I couldn’t see myself getting them. If it’s really windy then back staking with a standard peg will be more than adequate. They just look so cumbersome and bulky!
Same 👊👍
Positivity until the end. Symbolic.
You survived the dark days to enjoy the brighter days more.
Top man!
🙏🏻
Another great video Dave, you never fail to deliver. Best channel on CZcams 👍
Wow, thanks!
24:17 - BOUNTYGATE! Hubby was *not* happy with this revelation and even threatened to give the video a dislike 😂 he said it was only marginally saved by the later arrival of the Snickers but not to pull that kind of stunt again.... 🤭
You guys are crazy. Love it 🤣😂🤓👍
Stay strong great video
🙏🏻
What an ace camp! I started with a Blacks mountain tent many years ago (probably 1974 and always yearned after a Hilleberg. There was a shop in Ambleside down near the Styles cafe that used to sell them, and I drooled over them in the window ! We then got a MacPac tent, made in New Zealand and it is ace. We now have a Hilleberg Anaris for summer backpacking. good luck for the future!
That’s interesting Angela. Not heard of that tent 👍. ATB
Superb adventure as always Dave.
Thanks.
Much appreciated. Thank you 👍
Great adventure Dave, hopefully the warmer months will be here soon but so will the midgies 😡 I’ve been in the same position with the life changes and it’s always better on the other side mate, no looking back 👍
As for the delta pegs, I’ve got them, they are bulky and look stupid but they are designed to pull further into the ground when the guy line is pulled, so good in wind 💨 ATB Phil 👍
Cheers s Phil 🙏🏻. I don’t think I’ll be bothering with the delta pegs. Take care and ATB 👍
300 new subscribers what were saying a few vlogs ago 😂 It’s the Bounty bars Dave. Nothing compares. The plain chocolate bounty was the best but can’t find them now. 😢. The drone footage was awesome (watched about three times). I love the ridge line. Countless walks along those edges. Will be in the Lakes from mid May after waiting 20 years. Can’t wait. My poor wife thinks otherwise 😂. Fantastic watch. Thanks for sharing. Maybe you should try the ‘buymeablacklabeltent’ shoutout. Never know. 2016 wow how many B&B nights has that saved you 😂 loved the Tornado weather chasers and I’m a fair weather camper in -10 degrees. Watched to the end and watched you from the start buddy. ‘Brew with a view” and the I’ve lost my drone 🤭. Leave all those dark times behind you now and don’t look back. So pleased for you. Carol has sold out by the looks of it. Or, she is too busy making more. Cracking idea. No longer exists. Where’s the Sainsbury’s cake bars ?
Much appreciated Colin. “Buy me a black label” !!🤣 ATB 👍
Your a real joy to watch, total chill out, fab camp thankyou for taking me on your journey ❤
Big thanks Fran 🙏🏻
The best by miles, tough 3 years yeah, obviously a woman involved there🙄. Onward and upward, can i say i love you Dave… in a very manly wsy🤔, you really are awe inspiring and from what I’ve seen you have absolute grit determination in everything you do. Top man, really enjoy sharing a beer with you one day, or a hip flask up a mountain. Alb
Really appreciate your kind words Phil. Big thanks and VBW🙏🏻
Beautiful video, thanks for inspiring us. Brilliant to see a guy from Gods Country showing us that through adversity is hope. Much appreciated from the Darwen Massive
Haha. Nice one John. ATB 👊🙏🏻
Love watching your camps. Great work as always. 10/10
Thank you very much 🙏🏻
Another great video Dave. It's great to see you with a smile on your face and been positive about your future and out enjoying the mountains. Good for you mate . Onwards and upwards as they say . 💪 💪 🗻👍
🙏🏻
So pleased that things are looking better for you. Been through some bad times myself and getting out really helps on many levels. Sadly I'm down south so it's difficult to get into the mountains as regularly as you do. Your posts are great as I live those adventures more often through your posts. Really pleased for you though
Thank you so much Andy. Means a lot. Take care 🙏🏻
I like it when you put the details of the gear you take with you.. cheers
A couple of 214 completers from the U.S….
We enjoy your adventures. Thanks for posting.
Cheers guys. Glad you enjoyed it. ATB 🙏🏻
Life is a shit pie and we're all here to have a slice. Delta pegs 'Toys R Us.' LOL!
🤣👍
You are a trouper and you keep taking one for the team. I hate the cold worked in it all my life i have been so cold at times i cried, great filming and so so happy you can now move forward and get your life together. Stay safe buddy. And yes there are TWO more camps 🤣😂🤣
Yeah, when you’re working in it all the time that’s no fun.
Two more trips? 😳😬🤦🏻♂️🤣
Love the cinematic opening scene and the chilled out vibe is as good as ever. Nice one Dave.
Much appreciated Ant 👍
Great channel this
🙏🏻
I’ve said it in private mate. Another few brews I feel…. stay strong my friend coz Dave you the man😉💪👌😎
Very much appreciated Neil 🙏🏻
Great video Dave I don't use Deltas but the 9" pins had no problems I don't have a Hilli but a fjallraven Abisko 1 lite.
Nice one Slaz. Sounds good 👍
Some great footage & views in between the atmospheric clouds. Keep safe mate.
Fantastic video Dave your the type of man I could hillday with. Big love from North Wales. ❤
Not one. Many thanks 😁👍 🏴
Dave you do so many things spot on, but pork pie without mustard no no no 😂
Delta anchors ok in peat Peak District etc ATB
🥧 😬🤣👍
Spectacular
Dave, that was again another brilliant video. You genuinely are one of life's good guys and I echo what others have said, you deserve all the health, happiness and well-being. I've grabbed you a few brews, you deserve it. Ádh Mór, Cathal
Really appreciate your kind words. Big thanks 🙏🏻
Hi Dave, a belter of a video as usual, loved it. Funny enough I weighed my climbing rucksack before setting off for Mondays climb and it was 24kg+, ropes and winter climbing gear are quite heavy.😅
Yeah I’ve had my Soulo red label for years now and been out in all weather’s here and abroad and to be honest I think it’s the way you pitch it that counts.:…and I’ve no intention of getting a black label, reds good enough.Anyway great video again mate. ATB Jim.❤👌👍
Bloody hell Jimbo. 24kg 💪🥵. Yeah, I agree. The quality of the pitching is vital 👍. Glad you enjoyed the video pal 🙏🏻. ATB
Glad your coming out of the darkness into the light Dave..you seem such a nice guy.
Stunning footage.
Much appreciated David. VBW 🙏🏻
E' lad tha's a gud 'un ! I can't help thinking that if I met you on the WP moors,I'd get on with you like an house on fire.
I just admire how you push yourself through thick and thin come what may, whether thats mental or physical barriers and always that infectious northern humour to cap it all off.
Brilliant pal ,you're set the bar high and I'm sure an inspiration to a great many people that are suffering with illness in whatever shape or form that may take.
Well done pal....and keep em coming.
PS
I wished I had patented the Delta peg, I'd be on a beach in Mauritius...no I don't think so,The throne of the gods takes one hell of a lot to beat that view🥾🙏👊💪
Haha. Nice one Michael. VBW 🙏🏻
Thanks for keeping on with these CZcams videos: loads of work to film and edit them I'm sure. Also, it is very good to hear that you putting the dark times behind you.
Much appreciated Greg. Big thanks 🙏🏻
That was filmed in the most walked areas I used to go, from all different angles brilliant Dave.. and good luck with the future pal.. put it all behind you and onwards and upwards.. Brekky looks awesome.. ATB Dave TC 👍🙏
Nice one bro. Glad you enjoyed it 🙏🏻. VBW
What ever you do, get out there and enjoy yourself

Hi David just brilliant news about yourself upwards and onwards no looking back now mate there is just a massive smile on your face so pleased for you keep them videos coming ps your breakfast looked delicious 😋 see you soon
Nice one Philip. Very much appreciated. ATB
What a content, what a magnificent work! Shots are just epic my friend!
Thanks a ton 🙏🏻
Great to hear things are looking up for you. Another great video, take care xx
Thanks so much PG 🙏🏻
Superb video and what a great pitch with amazing views. Once again the drone footage with brilliant backing music was fantastic. Many thanks and best wishes.
Glad you enjoyed it Andy. ATB 🙏🏻
Great video, inspirational. Always thought the mountains are great healers.
Big thanks Phil 🙏🏻
Great pitch, beautiful spot. That view at 38:30, yes.
I love my Soulo RL, it's certainly no entry-model though, except if you start with winter mountain hiking perhaps.
About the pegs, I can imagine they work well in soggy/boggy soil, where you can barely find a somewhat decent enough pitch to put your tent and all pegs will be 'submerged' from the start. Haven't got any Delta pegs myself but they look like decent bog anchors/mini ploughs.
Epic Dave. By the time you've done all the tooing and throwing - you've done the walk twice! Fair play to you (and not feeling on top of the world)....although strictly speaking, you were really😅
Glad your glass is half full now and not half empty. Nice to see a smile back on your face.
Cracking Dave...onwards and upwards👍
Very much appreciated Ray. Best wishes 🙏🏻
Good to see you well again and back out there, looked bloody cold, well done mate
Great camp mate and look forward to your march camp, sometimes it’s the dark times that make you stronger and more determined to succeed pal, all the best Dave and take care 👍
They certainly do Mark. Glad you enjoyed it video. ATB
Cracking video Dave. Loved the colour you got for sunrise. Glad you kept the roll going
Big thanks Robert 👍
Lovely camp this Dave. Drone footage epic as usual. got to love the red tent in the white backdrop! TFS Steven
Many thanks Steven. ATB 👍
In my experience, the softer the ground the greater surface area the peg should have. I haven't used deltas, but i can see the appeal in a bog. I mostly use the pegs the tent came with (unless they're shepherds hooks) for hardish ground, and some 90mm pirhannas for soft ground.
When I see people popping 9" easton nails into a bog and not even putting the whole peg in, I honestly wince.
🤣👍
loved this camp mate , cracking spot 👌 , ive only started watching wild camping channels now for a year and hopefully my son and I will do our first this year , your channel was one of the 1st I started to follow , I absolutely love your adventures , your so genuine and very informative , I dont know exactly what you have gone through but im glad youve come through it and enjoying life now , looking forward to the camp in March
Much appreciated Stuart. Glad you’re enjoying my videos. Good luck with your trip 😎👍
Great views from Dollywaggon Dave. Thanks for taking us along 👍👍👏👏👏
Glad you enjoyed it Dave 👍
Nice one Dave stunning 👌👍
Cheers Graham
Great mindset, hope you have some easier times mentally in the future. Must be a great feeling ticking the February camp off, looked bloody cold up there. Can't wait for your March adventure 👊
Big thanks Ian. I’m nearly there but the job ain’t done just yet. Glad you enjoyed it. ATB
Great one again Dave. Good to see you've managed to get back out.😊
Absolutely. Cheers Steve 👍
Finally, a video thats really worth watching👌⛺️👍
Glad you liked it Phil 👍
10/10 absolutely amazing 🫶🏼
🙏🏻
Great perfect viewing cheers dave🏔👍☕️
Glad your happy now 🎉
Big thanks Cath 🙏🏻
Thanks!
🙏🏻
Saw the pic the other day and guessed wrong, thought you were on Great Rigg, not a million miles away I spose! Great vid, love that way up onto the ridge, very pretty!
Nice one Peter 😎👍
Will always be with you mate 🏔️💙
👊🙏🏻
i used to own styles from 1986 until leaving to live in New Zealand, Aug 2000. I ran it as a Pizzeria and lived above in a flat. Dark days and happy days, so i know where you are coming from.
That’s amazing Steve. Where you at in NZ? I visited back in 2008 mostly touring the South Island 😎👍
I live under Mt Taranaki, but i used to live in the south island at Christchurch . I like the south better than the north, so many mountains to explore. I also live for six months at Grange over Sands in Cumbria. Love it there duet its proximity to the Dales, Lakes, Howgill's and the Trough of Bowland.
That lovely lake at 8:00 made me itch to get may paints out! Beautiful area and the only way I’ll ever see it is through your eyes. Now don’t pity me too much because I’ve traipsed all over Montana and much of Idaho and Washington State here in the U.S-so I have my own breathtaking backyard to play in. However, I’m grateful to you for he time and the hard work you do to create a great video for all of us to enjoy. Thank you so much!
Must be stunning where you are Dee. Haha, “traipsed”. Thats a good word 😁👍. Glad you enjoyed my video. VBW🙏🏻
Delta Ground Anchors are for when the winds are proper kicking-off...your tent will rip before those things come out the ground...! There’s actually a much smaller titanium version called the Titan...very hard to get hold of as the fella makes small batches. Got mine a couple years back & have proved their worth too.
Nice one 👍
Balls of steel mate to camp up there in that weather 👍
🙏🏻
Loved it when the camera fell back in the wind and we got a shot of the sky!!
Fabulous video of Dolly Waggon and Grizedale - so many great memories of those parts.
Thank you, Dave.
Haha. Bloopers eh. Glad you enjoyed it Kelvin. VBW 🙏🏻
Excellent video again. I have some Delta pegs but only use them in soft ground. Otherwise mostly the 9in Easton type with some 6in cross type ones. Really glad your able to look forward positively now. Happy for you
Big thanks Rogar 👍
Really enjoyed your video. I don't know how you cope with camping up there in bad weather. We were there a fortnight ago, and it was fantastic, but we're still glad to come down. Lovely to see that big smile xx
Big thanks guys 😊🙏🏻
Outstanding Dave lad. Always start to finish for me, and to coin and yesterday is history ... tomorrow is yet to be written, so Get in there lad. Cheers.
Cheers Garry. We’ll keep going eh 💪😎👍

Super video as usual. :)
I drove past Stiles on Sunday on my way to Grasmere to buy copious amounts of gingerbread before a quick yomp up Loughrigg Fell. :)
Sounds great Jessica 🍪 😋👍
No more dark times bro , great video , that was a great pitch , until next time mate, cyas.
🙏🏻
Bit late to this one Dave just been catching up. I’ve got the delta pegs but yet to use them, probably got them as seen someone else using them. Great vid
Cheers Dave 👍
Just watching the video now, thanks for the advert 😊 but... you were probably cold as you didn't have a warm meal .. it really makes a big difference, I remember Doug Scott talking about this many years ago at a talk in Bolton. Take care
Carole
Cheers Carol. Makes sense that 👍
Top video again Dave, living in the Lakes i know pretty much all the area's you get to whilst camping up here 😁..as for the Delta Anchor's they truly are anchors, they are superb,i always carry some in my pack.
Cheers Andy 👍🙏🏻
I’m a proper fair weather camper and I’ve got a yellow label Niak which is absolutely fine for me. I was on the Langdales a couple of years ago and the winds got up to around 30mph and it never budged.
Sounds good 👍
Hey Dave, well done for squeezing your Feb camp in👍. As always your videos are a pleasure to watch and good to see you back in form. On the delta pegs, I am not sure if they are better then the 9" pegs which I also use. More importantly, very happy to hear that you have reached the end of a tough period and come out of it. What I will say is, that whilst these experiences can be sad, frustrating and not good, they also make you a stronger person. Well done and thank you as always for sharing your adventure and yourself as a person. Great spending (virtual time) with you. 👏👏🙏🙏
Really appreciate that Biagio. VBW 🙏🏻
I've bought 4 ground anchors after hearing all the hype on CZcams and I'm honestly not sure if they are any better than my 9" eastons. They do feel a bit flimsy and cheap being plastic although they are thick but that just makes them heavy. I think if they were alluminium or titanium and less thick they might be stronger and possibly weigh a bit less.
Aye. I won’t be bothering at this stage 👍
Balls to camp there mate. Respect and kudos to you. Love the vlogs. Be safe ok..
Big thanks Dave 🙏🏻
Awesome video, Dave. Yep, as others have said, deltas are for pegging on soft, peaty, mossy ground (think areas of the Highlands) especially in windy conditions where regular pegs wouldn't give enough grip and would be pulled out. Glad to hear things are on the up and you got your window seat. All that gear seemed to be your older stuff, assume that was the idea. 🇬🇧🏔👍
Nice one Nick. Yeah, hadn’t planned to be summit camping so just used what I had. I was fine but would have been more comfortable if I was a bit warmer. Atb
I used to use a north face mountain 35 tent, still stayed upright in a 70mph wind with alloy pegs!
Onwards and upwards Dave👍
Sounds good ⛺️👍. Nice one
Another great video mate, keep them coming. I'm a delta peg user and I have to sa they are brilliant. They're designed to dig into the ground as the wind gets stronger. I've been out in some hairy weather in my Allack 2 with these and it never budged. I got the Hilleberg Anaris last year for my lighter camps and used the delta pegs again in some high winds up on Seathwaite fell and was good. Still not completely sure on the tent yet but plenty of room for me and the dog :)
Oh, nice one Richard. I’ve done fine so far without the deltas but will keep them in mind if I have any issues with my traditional pegs. ATB
Another great video Dave glad to hear you are in positive mood
Got Delta pegs but not used them yet 9” Eastons are my go to
Hilleberg Soulo has served me well but also agree can feel cramped after using a bigger tent
Nice one Bill 👍
What a camping spot. Fantastic views. The Delta pegs are designed to be forced further into the ground as the guy lines pull on the pegs. I bought 4 just to peg out the 4 corner guys on my Soulo, haven’t used them yet but I reckon they would be useless in harder or frozen ground as I don’t think u would get them in. I use the 9” Easton pegs for my guy’s if the wind is forecast to be bad.
I bought my Soulo last year and yes it’s the Black Label. The advice at the time was, if u already own a red label it’s not worth upgrading to the BL as the RL is more than capable of dealing with UK weather. If you don’t own a Soulo then spend the little extra and get the BL, which is what I done. Great tent. Hope your personal problems are behind u now mate, keep doing what u do as it’s people like yourself who inspire me to do what I do. I started my own channel back in September so appreciate all the hard work that is involved in getting out, recording and editing. 👍
Very much appreciated Peter. Sounds like you’re enjoying the Soulo. At the end of the day that’s all that matters. ATB 🙏🏻
Remember 😊❤
