  • In this video I’m responding to a no cooling call where I found the condenser not running. The water sensor was activated, and later I found it low in charge. #hvac #hvactech #hvactechnician #hvaclife #hvacguy #fieldpiece #makita #goodman

    One of your previous videos helped this DIY'er fix my system!! My Rheem HVAC no turn on in any mode....I remember you doing a call similiar where the yellow wires rubbed through on the compressor line....lo and behold the same happened to me...fixed the wires and changed the 3 amp fuse op ck good!! Been a couple weeks now! Thanks for the great content!

    I goofed up and had my probes set to another refrigerant yesterday. Told the customer he was way overcharged but needed a condenser cleaning too. Luckily I knocked the cleaning out and rechecked pressure before removing anything because I caught it the second time around.

      I've learned that I see different pressure/ temp after cleaning, now depending on the visible inspection and age of condenser I'll clean it before I Guage up to the unit I've had better results from that practice. Great job with your meter work!

    Real world efforts, I guesstimate half my no cooling calls have some twisted numbers boiled down to airflow issues. In the real world on a service call with 2 hour windows, there is only so much you can do to make it perfect, besides I'm never there for airflow issues directly. Maybe just 1 this week, she had a blocked supply plenum, internal insulation came off the duct...

    Good job Mr. Curits! I need you around here when I drop a screw or nut on the ground as I can never find them even when I use a magnet. I like how you explain thing & why you are doing it. Keep up the good work & stay safe out there!

    Hmm, maybe you should have used some bubbles on that fitting? I've seen people re-use the Teflon seals on the coil when they remove the nut, right after installing it. You can crank down as hard as you like on a twice used seal to no avail.

    Use sand paper to clean the copper, the practice of moving/wiggle the clamps only works when clamps are new then it’s a toss up….. it’s hard to change behavior after you have established a norm…..

    You can run joblink in Bluetooth mode(turn off your mobile data) to make it run faster in areas with less than full bars. I think measure quick still allows Bluetooth mode if you're already signed in.

    @josejulian5116 Před 2 lety +2

    Again I would start at the inside and check the safety switch, that is the best way to wire the safety switch that way the inside blower can move the air inside and early spring late winter still operate heat if weather calls for it. Have to be more careful….. especially with the elderly

      You can accomplish the same thing by breaking yellow. And that’s what I would expect. Breaking red on a lot of models will only stop it from going into defrost.

    I've never understood why people break Y instead of R. By breaking yellow technicians spend more time trying to troubleshoot what's going on. The condensing units not running so they go out there first before they go to the air handler. When you break R you go straight to the air handler.
    Anyone reading this who breaks Y...... PLEASE STOP DOING THAT. SO ANNOYING
    What good is it circulating your fan when it's 85° in the house?

    • @fernandofhernandez899
      @fernandofhernandez899 Před 2 lety +1

      correct, they brake red with a hardwired thermostat and the t-stat is blank, you go directly to the air-handler unit,saving you time, who knows why they do brake outdoor circuit, whats the point of blowin just air

    • @andrewgilbreath1331
      @andrewgilbreath1331 Před 2 lety

      Yes This right here break R wire. Breaking Y also means your circulating all that moisture back into the house.

    So far I’m at 14:00, question, i thought my R was just my logic outside to keep up with the defrost timer. It can still get the Y call and run even with no R. Or have I been wrong the last 3 years lol

    • @HVACGUY
      @HVACGUY  Před 2 lety +1
