As someone who sells and installs Bryant and Carrier equipment i will give one small piece of advise and that is to leave that teflon seal off til after you braze it up . Ive seen them melt and cause a leak later .
Always clean-up / sand your lines before you cut. Saves the possibility of introducing dirt / sand into the line-set.
Curtis is the man at the ol local supply house. Being a little funny but seriously you have one of the easiest to watch HVAC CZcams channels
Nice job, bro👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Don't you wish they were all like that..I know I do!! Nice change out!
That fieldpiece looks sweet. Thanks again. Well done.
Nice install ... Yes having the right tools makes it a whole lot better ...Thx ...
Good job Curtis.
That cool gel is ausume stuff,I love it. Great job Curtis.
Gotta get the spinner swagger and a bender. Saves cost of fitting and reduces brazing joints and possible leaks. Just an idea. I haven’t bought any fittings other than street elbows for years.
Your right about that Joe
Yes sir....
I’m ready for summer!! Hopefully I get to do some installs, I’m always on service nowadays
We all been there money is rare these days... Nice video as ever pal
I love the video and I'm sure you know more than I do by far. But I think that was the quickest soldering this side of the Mississippi.
I always preferred a rose bud tip for my oxy-acet
Very nice!
Thanks again for the videos!
🍺🍺🍺🥃🥃⛳🎳
Stay safe.
Retired (werk'n)keyboard super tech. Wear your safety glasses!
Carrier 🙌🏽
Thanks for the 60p video, much nicer!
I have been trying to use 60fps, recording that way. I’ve only recently started using a new software for editing.
@@HVACGUY Something in the process must have been down-converting it. Looks great now.
I always heat wrapped all driers when soldering. Just had to say my 2 cents. Have a great day.
Carrier 👌🏻
I’m not the kinda guy to tell anyone how they should be doing something, especially Curtis, just offering my experience; since I’ve started weighing in initial charges, things have been better and faster for me . I thought you were in for a struggle for your vacuum when you saw all that oil in the lines, glad it wasn’t!
I’ve never seen that stuff you put on the valves but it seems like it would be a mess to clean up. Personally I would just use a wet rag. The 3/8 line brazed up quick. The 3/4 with a wet rag is also just fine
This is the Carrier Sentry, the builder grade model. This is the exact same as the Payne. It is cheap, but gets the job done. Comfort series is the step higher. These are decent condensers for the money.
Get an ICP Comfortmaker and save the customer some money. It’s the same when you’re installing entry level systems.
@@joep4143 I have to agree, you can get any of the ICP brands top model 5 speed rotary compressor unit with variable speed fan for the price of the Carrier. I sell Bryant as my main line but the whole ICP line is available. I just priced them Friday. Hell, the Bryant is 15% cheaper and could get the Evolution for the Carrier price.
Nice looking install. Question as to why you wanted to change the pad. From the video all i could see wrong is it looked to be a bit lower than lawn grade. Just curious.
good stuff...one question so u have a piston on top and on the bottom? it wont make a difference?
I hope you didn’t ruin that plastic o-ring. I always take that out when I solder.
How you liking those icons I just bought a pair yesterday
Why was the subcooling so low? Just curious…
Good video...no water and rags?....my opinion.
Open lineset,channel lock on brass???
Completely other sort of question: at 20.56min in the video there's a clearly German license plate behind you on the wall starting with 'MSH', above it there are 2 oval plates; where are those from exactly? Thnx in advance! T🐻 from NL.
Why are the pipe joints brazed rather than soldered?
Other than the pretty grille I don't really see the difference. Unless they put in a different compressor now. Got a feeling that even the changes from 2003 to now that the equipment is even worse.
you don't have 4 rubber pads to place under the unit....should have
That flame was 🔥 blazin, maybe try a more suitable tip or at least back off the Oxy a bit. Gonna burn threw a line with that flame and how your using it.
Great video Curtis. I really enjoyed it. Couple of questions. I notice you use the spray heat sink. Do you like this better than the paste or puddy type? Is it easy to cleanup afterwards? Are you a one man show? Do you rent a storage bay for your business and if so, how do you like using rental bay? Thanks again for your video👍
Yes, I’m a one man show. I do rent, but I have a 4000 sq ft warehouse with an office
@@HVACGUY So do you like the spray heat sink better? Ive been using the vipor puddy type stuff and its a bit of a nuisance to mold it around fittings :( Does the spray type absorb the heat well? Thanks
Is it better to open first the low pressure line and then the high pressure line? Or it doesn’t make much difference? Thanks 😃👍🏼
No difference.
You should always open the liquid line first. If not, you can flood the evaporator coil with oil.
Ever heard follow the nitrogen while you braze
Is that a widow maker?
Was that a Makita battery on the Dewalt fan
Yes it was
In crappy Florida we have to change total system. We just can't change condensor because of the geen bull shit.
But doesn't that create more waste?
You could if the indoor coil was matched for the regional minimum seer rating.
There isn't a Neighborhood near me
😂
Good job, I guess he spent all of his money on that Nest thermostat.
Not if you get it through your energy provider
@@murkyturkey5238 What, they give those things away ?
Sure they do not exactly free they get to control your ac
@@deonpotgieter4473 Ya know, I don't doubt it.
With the amount of oil running out of the suction line, there is no way that you recovered the refrigerant…..
you could of put 4 bricks under it as I think all of them should be done tat way
It's code up here where I am in ohio that all heat pumps are supposed to be on pop ups.
I have to know if you are in the gym frequently or are just naturally muscular looking. It seems to me it's the former.
No time for a gym. Although I spent a lot of time there decades ago.
Why not use a better brand
Sorry but that’s a cheap unit
