  • If you're traveling to Puerto Rico by cruise ship and have a limited time in Old San Juan, I'll show you exactly where to go to find sea glass in the short time you're there. It's not a long walk from the cruise port terminal, and the beach is stunning, with a ton of sea glass! Much of it is common colors and small sizes, but there are hidden gems there at that beach. That large lime green piece in the video was found on this beach, as was some white "bubbles" and a beautiful turquoise piece. So get your walking shoes on and head to the Playa del Capitolio in Old San Juan for some sea glass hunting!

    I can’t thank you enough for making this video!! I just heard about the beach in Old San Juan and your explanation with geographic landmarks of where to go is much appreciated. I can’t wait to go check it out in a few months.
    Where are some of your favorite spots in the US? Have you ever been to the sea glass island in Aruba? That was by far the best spot I’ve ever been to. Bottle stoppers and sea coins for days. Lots of blues (deep blue and turquoise). Occasional marbles. I was in heaven.

      I'm so glad you found this helpful! We tried to go to sea glass island in Aruba with Theresa, but our ship got in too late. I'd definitely recommend a Bonaire sea glass trip with Jeni, and Curacao is good too. I mostly go to Spain and England for my sea glass and don't travel too much within the U.S. I did go to Maine last May, but hardly found anything. And the glass on the beach where I live in Florida isn't great.

      @@BarbaraIngramTravel im a local here in Puerto Rico and if you come here for a few days and your searching for sea glass I do really recommend to go to the west side, in aguadilla (northwest) there's a stunning beach that has plenty that you can see on plane sight its called Crash Boat. They also have for surfing, food with fare prices, you can snorkel there and you see beautiful fish with different colors, and kayak.

      @@penny145 Thank you so much for this information! We are usually there for such a short time, that we are unable to leave the OSJ area. But if we by chance can stay longer, I will definitely check it out. That was very kind of you to share.

    Facing the sea you went left to those rocks? Amazing pieces!

      No, if facing the sea, I went right. There is a little area to the left, but it doesn't go very far. If you go to the right, you can walk quite a long way until you get to those rocks.

    Any other seaglass beaches in PR?

    • @BarbaraIngramTravel
      @BarbaraIngramTravel  Před 2 měsíci

      I'm not sure. I only go by cruise ship, so there isn't time to go anywhere else on the island. I know there are some sea glass Facebook groups that have info on PR.

      Jauca has a lot of seaglass. The beaches with a lot of rocks are going to have the most seaglass. Was just there in April.

      Was just in Jauca in April. Never found so much sea glass in my life. The beaches with a lot of rocks are where you are going to find the most seaglass.

    where can you find it? which beach? do you to tours?

    • @BarbaraIngramTravel
      @BarbaraIngramTravel  Před 2 lety +1

      The video shows exactly where the beach is. It's right in front of the Capitol building in Old San Juan. If the map in my video doesn't make sense, just google the Capitol Building and then you'll be able to see it. That's the only beach I went to there. I don't currently do tours, but am considering it in the future. :)
