Icelandic and English are closely related languages, the sound is almost the same. They are the only two Germanic languages that preserved the two "th" sounds, which became "d" in the other Germanic languages.
It’s half and half, certain phrases don’t translate well in to English and vice versa, I actually speak a lot of Icelandic and only half of this is sonically legible. However, this is such a beautiful song so to me it doesn’t matter.
Who's the intolerant one? I find this captivating, refreshing, and gorgeous and I'm from the USA. Folks need to calm down their ignorance and stop blaming our governments intolerance on EVERY American citizen we have outstanding individuals and some very ignorant, inconsiderate, sheepish folks... Just like MOST places. On another note, Bjork is so charming! Her music= self-expression and freedom-of-mind as it should be: DIfFErENT
This song is actually both gibberish and Icelandic so all the people arguing in the comments are both right and wrong.
I don't even care what Björk sings. She could sing gibberish for the rest of her life and I'd still listen to her and love every second.
She often does
only an artistic genius can sing sod off and make it sound class.

I prefer this version.
I don't understand a word she's saying but, it feels a lot more expressive than the English version.
Pure soul
I like it, it sounds like the outro to Jóga.
Crooner she is with a wild child jazz improv, she is one of a kind, queen B

Björk or when all the Stones, trees or animals had a voice, she is singing Nature and true Heart. I wish, I' ve met her. An Angel in Disguise.
She sounds like nature, technology, science, extraterrestrials and the human being are best friends in a perfect utopian future.
