This raag is not a single bit close to 'Kalyan'. The name contains 'Kalyan' which is not for 'Kalyan thaat'. Without komal nishad this raag will loose it's everything. In that sense some people named it 'Gorakh' to avoid the confusion with 'Kalyan'.

There is no relevance with the kalyan ang... it's just used and said from older times and it's still followed... singer has given a very valid point here... but that's not the reason... we can't just see sny kalyan ang in the raag... kalyan ang raag have pa re sangati which is absent in this raag...
Thank God I found this after so many years. Mukundji's opening from the Gita has stayed with me all these years !

Singing Gazal was so important? It spoiled every thing. Any big singer will not permit such things in between.
