    I live in a facility due to advanced MS. A couple nights ago I mentioned Colbert to an aide. She thought I said cold beer. Same thing twice more when I said it. I said Colbert to a different aide this morning. Same result. I asked her if she ever heard of David Letterman. No. Johnny Carson. No. Here Albert Brooks is talking about Rudolph Valentino. We are old. Happy Thanksgiving!

      A good point. A legendary British rock band performed their last American gig as the original quartet on SNL at 30 Rock around this airdate on November 25, 1982. Then the frontman dies less than ten years.

    Always enjoyed Albert Brooks. If you haven't seen his film "Modern Romance", I highly recommend it. There's a great scene between Brooks and his brother, Bob Einstein.

    Every now and then Albert kind of drifts into being possessed by Lenny Bruce. The pace of his speech and movements. For instance as he is talking about bowling. It was good.

      I get a strong Robin Williams-style free-association with miscellaneous quick-change characters popping in and out. Never connected Brooks and Williams before. Strange. Is it just me??

    I'm so old, I can't remember if I saw highlights or the original. I do remember the, "Pro Shop!" guy! Plutonium balls? "No problem!"..... that brought me to tears. If you have ever been in a bowling alley- it is perfect!

    November 24, 1982 I lived in alphabet city attending parochial school in the 6th grade. I was not allowed to watch tv at 12:35am. No wonder I don't recall this appearance.

    Man I miss late night like this. Able to just sit and tell stories and go off the way Brooks does... as opposed to the over-produced, polished and sterile, pre-interview approved pablum plug-fest that late night has become.

      The Super Dave thing got so tired, so fast. It was a little easier to take when he did the same character on Curb Your Enthusiasm (minus the costume).@@DanJackson1977

    Circa 1982 I was just finishing up three years as a computer mainframe operator in Colorado Denver printing everyone's unemployment and workman's comp checks like a good civil servant.😅 And this is how I know what makes government work and what makes it not work and who are the good guys and the bad guys I've been doing this 50 years or more, paying attention that is...🎉
