a-freaking-men... I hate shows that have a decent premise that involves a craft, a skill, or whatever whether it's hunting in the wild or building a fish tank, and the shows producers push it in the direction of creating turmoil between people on the show in some way. Just show people doing something that doesn't involve conflict!
The blades cut or they don't. It's 99% objectivity in the judging process, with 1% connected to judging aesthetics, when the performance levels of the blades are about tied.
Of all the judges on FiF your my favorite. Very humble and down to earth. Great smith as well. They did well when they asked you to join them as a judge. Glad your life is going so well and look forward to many more years of the show.
Ben needs more videos - I really like his work. A real addition to FiF, not that all the other folks aren't good also. J. Nelson and David are right up there also and great bladesmiths.
Love ya, Ben! You’re my favorite judge on the show! I’m in awe of both your knowledge and forging skills! Hope to see you on many more episodes. Keep up the fantastic work!
Any one who is a blacksmith or bladesmith or farrier knows the hard work and skill it takes that's what makes people like Ben special he has the passion and drive that most people just don't he truly loves what he does
That last part of the video is definitely me. I started watching the show a couple seasons ago and thought that would be awesome to do. So here a couple months ago I went through a scrape pile I had and found some materials and made myself a homemade forge. Without the show I never would have gotten into it.
I'm one of those guys lol, forging has turned my life around, came back from iraq to a broken familly, single dad, wounded and addicted, when the demons come in the early hrs , I go create something from nothing , wear myself out and sleep great, started with building a propane forge, then coal, built a revolution 2x72 by brian house, first anvil was a 4inch thick mild steel, zero rebound, found a fisher 100#, not making it a business but sold a few, gave most to familly to abuse and get back with me on the quality, I'm 56 years old and anyone just about can do this !!!
The community has grown so much as to create a lack of inexpensive anvils to buy. All the rusty, ignored anvils have been bought, cleaned, fixed rehardened and are in short supply. A very good thing. I see leather work exploding the same way. A lot of 'old' time crafts making a big come back. Again, a very good thing. Being a maker.
Thanks Ben it's because of you my grandson and I started foregoing blades and swords ⚔️⚔️ we have become so very very close. We have been doing this for almost 3 yrs and has my grandson and I taking challenges to each other. One week he picks what he wants me , and when I'm done I tell him what I want done. It's been amazing to see fif together. Thank you Ben
INCREIBLE. Te admiramos mucho. TU historia es ispiradora, y mi admiracion de la manera que te conduces en tv es Como SI naciste para eso. Pero lo que me impressions mas son tus Brazos. DIOS esta Contigo.
It makes me very happy to see a good man, like this, associated with a great company like Berne! I have had the pleasure of meeting, training and talking with a top representative of Berne and it is not a surprise to me that these two have made this video! Good job Ben and Chris (I'm sure we will speak again soon).
Gotta love the guy. So humble and Gentle and willing to learn more. God Bless You Ben! May you accept Christ as your lord and Savior! Much love for you!

It sounds like God's hand guiding you to fulfill a greater destiny than you knew possible all with talents and abilities He birthed in you. Congratulations Ben
"I didn't have anyone to look up to"... Becomes the greatest blacksmith under the sun...
FIF is so much filled with positivity and little to no drama that it gives reasons for people to like it...not all shows are able to do it

Contrast that to cosmopolitan "Housewives" shows where the backstabbing never ends.
Its because its regular everyday men.
It's the only real reality show on television. No bullshit just pure competition with no ego.
The blades cut or they don't. It's 99% objectivity in the judging process, with 1% connected to judging aesthetics, when the performance levels of the blades are about tied.
FIF not only showcases the beautiful things that man can create, but also the *Respect BETWEEN Men.*
He's the very definition of humble beginnings. I watched a video, and his wife explained how they met and that was pretty wholesome too.
He seems like such a nice person, and my favorite judge on FIF.🔥🔥🔥

man i love Ben. aspiring to be great, passionate, and humble.
The best judge on FIF... I enjoyed watching him in season 3 ep1. He should be ABS Master Smith
Extremely talented and humble. Ben doesn't need to be an ABS Master, I believe he is already as good as many Master Smiths.
Ben has been doing this since he was a kid but he's so inspiring I want to try to do this for the first time in my 30's
Ben needs more videos - I really like his work. A real addition to FiF, not that all the other folks aren't good also. J. Nelson and David are right up there also and great bladesmiths.
My bast two times forged in fire Champion and bast judge.🥲💓💖💖💖💖💖I love you Ben
I LOVE THIS BEN!!! CONGRATS!!!! I won't miss a single video of yours!

Ben’s Truly Awesome and I’d love to meet him one day. I’m planning to try my hand at forging and it’s because of FIF. Love the show!

I think I’ve watched every episode of FIF. Much respect for all of the judge’s.
Ben Abbot's passion is inspiring! I wonder why he isnt an accredited ABS master bladesmith yet. He is definitely a master of his craft.
Love Ben Abbot on the show ... Earned his spot to be there!!! Good job Ben, congrats .
I feel like he is the most knowledgeable judge of metallurgy 100%

He and Doug are my absolute favorites. They are living the life
Ben is a jack of all trades, and master of none, but he is better than a master of one.
I am a definite fan of the show. I appreciate Ben's interview giving a small insight into the real day to day Ben.
Great job! Best blacksmith ever!
Congrats on your success, Ben! And kudos for inspiring others along the way.
You are in forge in fire
he got a talent, some blacksmiths are only got an ambition Its a huge difference

Even though he's English, Ben Abbott lived the American Dream.
