Great video. I arrived in Statesboro in 1972 and worked in a foreign car shop across from the then college. The building was located at 6:44 in the video on the right hand side. It was torn down some time ago. Back then Statesboro had no circumferential road and the Interstate stopped abruptly not too far away from Savannah. The main highway through Statesboro was busy and downtown was packed with cars. The town was still extremely segregated and the college was bursting at the seams. New dorms were being built, all 2 story motel style buildings with swimming pools. I lived in a defunct motel further out and later on at 208A vista circle in a tiny house which still exists. I left in 1973 to attend school in Tucson Arizona and never returned.
I was in town in 1986 till 88. Back then, there were some defunt buildings at down town intersection. Actually most of the buildings there were vacant. There were only one two story motel, which was Holiday Inn, was expensive compared to other motels, Travel Inn, Syles mortel etc, and cost 40 dollars per night. About college, it was much smaller than current university and several dorms, Brannen, Dorman, Lewis, Olif, Winburn Hendrix and some others were still there but converted into some other use. Stateboro Mall was the biggest shopping center in this region and was still quite new. When I visited in year 2016, it was still there but sopping area seemed to have moved to the place near university. Anyway, video was good to take me back to 80s.
I think that's my truck in the KFC parking lot at 23:35, between the tall bush next to the building and the pole. I've worked there for five and a half years, but the 22nd will be my last day.

I grew up in Statesboro. I left there is 94-95 time frame. Its definitely a magical little town. I have wanted to move back for years
