  • Hello everyone, I am now at the entrance of Chongqing Hongyancun metro station, a metro station with a depth of 116 meters. It takes eight escalators to reach the metro platform, which is as deep as a 39-story building. It would be crazy to walk through a metro entrance like this! Now I will take you all to experience it, let's go!

Fun fact: you are entering the station from entrance No. 4, and go downwards to reach the ticket hall and the platform. If you walk to the left of the fence at 2:22 you will find entrance No. 2 which is even lower than the platform level.

Is this a deep in the ground station or inside a hill that you entered from the hill top? My understanding this is a very hilly city, many buildings have entrances on different levels.

Again, impressive what kind of projects are realized in China. Projects in Europe dont even come close to that.

Perhaps it's true but projects in Europe stand intact even after centuries. See buildings in Rome and the French metro which was the first on the continent and was built in 1900. I wonder how long this metro-cave will serve the passengers without problems.

@@editfazekas3854 Many technologies didn't work in Europe as well. We're setting the wrong benchmarks here. The fact that they go all in to find solutions for challenges they have is the sole reason they were able to advance that much with their society.
