But Medicosis, if in Respiratory Acidosis both H+ and HCO3- goes up. Then how come we get Acidosis, should the H+ and HCO3- increase balance each other to have a normal pH?
Since both H+ and HCO3- increase, it causes acidosis because when they combine they form Carbonic acid (H2CO3) which is an acid and therefore acidosis occurs. It is when one ion increases and the other decreases that can cause alkalosis. for respiratory alkalosis, it will only happen when C02 goes down, when that happens the equation will be shifted towards making more C02 to overcome the stress ( Le Chatlier's Principle). then H+ goes down and pH goes down, HENCE ALKALOSIS! Ethanol (Ethyl alcohol) is metabolized to Acetic Acid (which is in acid added to your system). Is this the lungs’ 🫁 fault? No! Therefore, it’s metabolic.
Does that make sense?

Question about lactic acid. If an athlete were to be on a higher O2 percentage, like 100% or whatever is healthy and safe, would they have less lactic acid? Lactic acid is that muscle soreness, right? I'm just wondering if that's a solution to lower muscle soreness I guess.
