CLIP DESCRIPTION:
Jack (Nick Nolte) and Reggie (Eddie Murphy) corner Ganz (James Remar) in an alley.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
A variation on the "buddy-cop" hybridized genre, 48 HRS. greatly bolstered the career of Nick Nolte and made comedian Eddie Murphy a bonafide box-office sensation. When a pair of reckless cop-killers break out of prison, grizzled detective Jack Cates (Nolte) is left no alternative but to spring fast-talking hustler Reggie Hammond (Murphy) from the penitentiary in order to find the criminals. The catch: the pair only have 48 hours to complete their assignment before Hammond must return to prison. Naturally, the two despise each other and even engage in fisticuffs, but eventually the danger facing them proves a strong enough common bond for them to play on the same team, and even achieve a little mutual admiration.

"I don't believe it. I got shot!" I love that line.
I love the definitive sound of those words. NEXT!!!
LOL cracks me up everytime.
Sotnas “You’re done. End of story.”
Santos His delivery of that line is so epic!
@@AldenRDavis you 😠 wam wam wam wam wam BAM
The way James Remar delivers his lines...What a badass..
Nolte delivered his stone cold badass too. "You're done end of story"
Uncle Gambi from Black Lightning was a badass back in the day.
The way Ganz delivered them? Nothing but a big mouth punk who at the end of the day got blown straight to hell
@@loklo101 I was gonna make this comment too. He went from s Warrior in the movie "The Warriors," to "Albert Ganz" in this. And 40 years later he looks like "Mr. Geppetto" from Pinocchio, Then playing Uncle Gambi in Black Lightning.
Crazy. I've been watching Everyone in this movie all that time.
You know the cop that Ganz shot on the stairs at the beginning of the movie, at the hotel??? That's Jonathan Banks, "Mike" from Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
He’s gonna be in Oppenheimer this July
"You're done, end of story!" Now, that's some good one-line talk!
He has spoken 😏
James Remar was SUPERB as Ganz in this movie!
Cast was off the hook but, you’re right, Remar pretty much stole the movie.
Small but important detail: all through the film Nolte's hair is unruly and in his face, but in this scene it's suddenly slicked back. A subtle but effective way to illustrate how pissed off and determined he finally is.
or maybe just a continuity error - because at the start of the scene, his hair is pretty much messy.
He probably slicked it back so that he could go celebrate by eating sloppy steaks at Truffoni’s with the Dangerous Nights crew after shooting Ganz.
@@AgingPunk Nah. He was goin back to Vromans!
One of the best endings to a classic movie. "You're done. End of story."
That is absolutely beautiful. That is how you shut down someone out of control. You unload the whole clip. If that was in real life I would say that the bad guy got what he NEEDED. Gorgeous.
I know.
@Dahoss Sad but true

🤡🤡🤡 shut up
gotta love the grittiness of this movie
The brilliance of *Walter Hill*
@@dnasty312and Horner's intense score
Nick Nolte.... Great actor despite all the self abuse.
James Remar too
"Are you crazy, man! I was just bluffing!"
1:32
I wasn't!
Eddie reaction was perfect.
Ganz and Billy are some of my favorite movie villains of all time. They were mad dogs. Always in kill mode. No fear of death. They both rushed a guy that had a gun pointed at them and ended up shot. This movie needs to be revisited.
Little advice from Tuco: when you have a gun shoot don't talk
Peter Ecos the good the bad the ugly classic
If you have to shoot,Shoot don't talk 😀
Peter Ecos lol love Tuco he had some great advice
Hey Blonde! You know what you are!? Just a dang son of a...wah a wah a wah a wah...wah...wah...wah.
Peter Ecos ..ABSOLUTELY....!!!!!!😂🤣🤣😂🤣😂🤣👍👍👍👍👍
Ajax after his release from Jail lol
Josh Hamlin That explains why he killed Luther. Lmfao
Ajax is dead. I remember cause Deadpool killed him.

Yer done end of story.
@@keithcarlson7267 you. ARRRRRRGGGGGGHHH WAM WAM WAM WAM WAM…… SUPER WAM
I horrifically dislocated my arm, bone sticking out and all on a baseball field many years ago...when the ambulance put me in the rolly-thing...I screamed "I dislocated my arm, I don't believe it!! I popped my bone out!!!??".(in between huffs on nitros-oxide..my one buddy laughed and screamed "Is that Ganz?" I smiled at him before they closed the ambulance doors......I can die happy!!
Then as the ambulance drove away, "The Boys Are Back In Town" played and you laughed like Eddie Murphy while holding your friend's lighter like at the end of Another 48 Hours.
Lol. The “rolly-thing” is called a gurney.
James Remar - Ganz one of the best bad guys ever so realistic
I didn't even realize he was Richard on Sex and the City until he had appeared in several episodes - even though I had probably seen this movie 50 times as a kid. I was like HOLY CRAP that's Ganz!!
Remar stopped sleeping for this film, so he'd have a psychotic look.
2 Fast 2 Furious? (I live in South Florida) I had the pleasure of meeting him nice guy.
Agree-ruthless!

Harry Morgan, Dexter’s dad
1:09 When a man walks to you like that, only one is walking away
A truly satisfying ending.
"You're not gonna make it"....."You're done, end of story"......
Love this film!!! Although if it were made today, Cates' smoking and drinking would be replaced with coffee and a buff actor who would be scared of firing a .45! Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy are just amazing in this and Walter Hill is an underrated director!!! They should do a 40th anniversary screening of this to remind people of this classic!!!
The “woke” crowd would burn down any theaters that tried to play it.
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 That's probably very likely to happen! ☹☹☹ those tossers don't understand real films, screenwriting or good characters!☹☹☹☹
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Y'all whining about the "woke" crowd not these lazy set pieces, your whole life must be a joke 🤡
@@anti-ethniccleansing465 Like the John Wick films?
This IS a classic and I agree with almost everything you say except but I'm not getting the today's "actors who would be afraid of firing a 45" line. Guess you haven't watched any of the John Wick series?
This is right up there with Lethal Weapon,Midnight Run and The Last Boyscout
And rush hour
And Beverly Hills Cop and Die Hard.
All produced by Joel silver
@@coryames1170 Beverly Hills Cop and Die Hard aren´t buddy movies.
Without 48 Hours those other movies probably wouldn't exist.
Great era for movies.
love it - nik and eddie were perfect in this
Yes they were. If I am not mistaken this movie set-off all the buddy cop movies of the 1980s.
I loved this movie. The 80's.. what memories! :))
Nolte was at his best in this movie...
Love these 2 guys together both great talents. Any chance another one made? Please please
It probably won’t happen after they Another 48 Hours in 1990. Nick Nolte and Eddie Murphy really didn’t get along on set of the films and Nolte will be 81 years old this year. The studio had talked about a 3rd film but it never gained the green light to be made.
"Take the shot jack."
"ARE U CRAZY?"
James Remar always had the best reactions.
Seems a lot of people don't realize although Nolte and Murphy make great protagonists.. Ganz and Billy Bear were two of the greatest villains in the history of cinema.. "What are you talking about, huh?!" Albert Ganz catchphrase!!
In both 48 HRS, and Predator, Sonny Landham played a guy named Billy, who thought he could win with a blade. He lost both times.
@@BrotherDerrick3X Wow I never thought of that.. But ironically I wondered just this morning which actors actually played themselves more or less using their real name.. I guess through synchronicity I got an answer! Billy knew he couldn’t win so went down in a blaze of glory 2x.. Maybe he suggested this?!
Harry Morgan: The Early Years
This is how judges should hand down sentences “YOU’RE DONE , END OF STORY “ 😎
At 1.04 when Nick Nolte's character appears out of the fog. Very ominous.
lol he was one line away from saying "you made me bleed my own blood!"
Ganz got BLASTED!!! Ol’ Cates put that FLAME in him! 1911 Style!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
James Remar managed to be memorable in a movie with two of the biggest scenery-chewers in the history of cinema.
Loved how stone cold and badass Jack was. He was unadulterated western badass here. The cold steely look on his face before and after he takes Ganz out shows who the real alpha was. Clint Eastwood and John Wayne would be proud lol.
ALPHAS SUCK!!
BETA IS WHERE ITS AT!! FTW!!
Ganz was a real sicko!! Should've been nominated for something!!
Was he on drugs or was he just naturally crazy
@@sitdowndogbreath James might've been at this time. He definitely was during *Aliens* hence why he was fired
@@dnasty312 He was on the movie Aliens
And this shows why you NEVER voluntarily disarm yourself like in so many movies and Tv shows.
One of the best films ever!
Are u crazy man I was just bluffing 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
The guy that played games also was in the TV series Jericho he was kind of a bad boy character. I think he’s very good actor!
I assume your talking about Ganz. The actor's name is James Remar.
I'm going to meet James Remar later this month :)
The foghorns at 2:08-2:12 were the ones I grew up with in San Francisco. They've been changed.
James Remar was always brilliant at playing Badass Characters ,He was Brilliant in this as Psycho criminal Albert Ganz with the late Sonny landham as Billy Bear .
He's also good as a drug kingpin in Band of the Hand.
@@Ori0n1975 good at playing l o v e r s in Indecency and Boys on the Side.
Why the music in this scene sounds like it belongs in Friday The 13th? Lol Cult Classic! Murphy and Nolte has great chemistry
Would you believe James Horner scored this? 🎼 🙌🏼
1911 proves to be as efficient as the 44 mag
It is a wider bullet so it slams into you hard
That was flat-out suicidal for Ganz to charge into a 45acp!!! 💀💀💀
I'm with you he had that Viking crazy spirit that's why the 45 was invented for people like him
@@sitdowndogbreath that's 💯 % TRUTH. 👍👍👍
Nick Nolte was so badass in this scene. By the way he is also the father of Mike Banning :)
The third fallen film was good, especially that forest sequence that Nick wasn't playing around.
He let that 45 do the talking lol
Man, Dexter's dad was a real A-hole when he was younger!
1:33 are you crazy man I was just bluffing
This was Nick Nolte's best tough guy role. He was so believable. I'm surprised he was never able to duplicate that edge. He wasn't as hard in he sequel.
Are you crazy man, I was just bluffin. lololol
I love it. No bullshit. Just blow the bad guy away.
BY FAR THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE !!!!!!!!!
Reggie is thinking "Don't piss this guy off" after seeing Ganz get taken out.
I See Why Walter Hill wanted Remar for the Ganz role He was Super awesome in The Warriors
Ganz and Luther together again.
Love it.
I got hit... I don't believe it. I got shot!
You're done end of story
I like a happy ending : )
They should make another 48 hours 3 where nick nolte and Eddie Murphy do the desk work and training two newbies
We never find out if they killed Luther's Girl
Somebody says they heard a shot as the bus was leaving which were explained she probably on the floor dead
There was speculation and in cut scene that they Bill Bear and Ganz killed Luther’s girl and dumped the bus in China town.
Its a character James Remar played in a movie called the warriors
Cates unloaded that whole magazine into Ganz like it was his way taking his anger out on him for getting away all the time. I don't blame Cates for being angry. He would've caught Ganz and Billy Bear on the subway, if those uniformed pigs didn't interfere and screw everything up.
Magazine not clip
Best part 2:10 -- "You're not going to make it."
"What you takin about?" I got your gun!
Emptied that clip with conviction and purpose...
What an epic ending.
My favourite buddy film
Instead of the text, “The End” appearing at the end of the movie, the character tells us, “End of Story.” 🤔😃
What you talking about I got your gun I got the money I got everything
Except for the lead that's coming
He ain’t gonna make it home for supper.
So Badass...
They don't make movies like they used to!
Eddie was only 21 in this movie.
James Remar who played Ajax from The Warriors played Ganz in 48 Hours
Nice shooting Tex!
James Remar has such an Axl Rose vibe throughout this whole movie ....
First Cleon then Fox now Ajax
1:02 Appears so badass.
👌🏽love this scene
he was in walter hills film the warriors in 1979 great film
1:47 you’re done end of story.
Walter hill, sure does like to use fog/smoke, in his movie's. 48 hrs- red heat- another 48 hrs. Im sure there are other's, in his other movie's.
Rip Ajax from the Warriors
I got your gun....I got the money.....I GOT EVERYTHING!
I got your gun, I got the money, I got everything.
Didn't know Ajax left The Warriors
One of the scariest bad guys no lie ✔️
I met Ganz/James Remar a year ago, he signed a picture of him and Eddie Murphy at gunpoint for me.
To think, the next time I would see James Remar die in a movie would be when 'Mortal Kombat: Annihilation' came out in late-1997...
His career died in that movie, too.
yupp
Great movie.
Farkin' phone... Nick Nolte, not bolter wally!
Jack Cates takes out Ganz...Stone Cold Badass move..
Years later, Ganz's little brother Cherry tries to kill both of them.
This is similar to what happens to Chucky at the end of Child's Play.
Does anybody know what vest Ganz has on? Or something similar?
Good movie but I always wonder why did James remer run after nick with his gun in the air instead of shooting haha 🤣
Good movie
You use Ajax too?
