    To those with a shaking/shuddering Chevy: I was told (Firestone) to replace the rotors but that didn’t fix the issue. Changing the trans fluid solved it.
    Look up Chevy shudder.

    Every single one of these signs of a bad power steering pump is the same as a bad rack and pinion

      Exactly, I've been going at it with my steering rack over a week now and even tho I've changed the seals three times, it's still leaking😭😭😭😭

      Mine looks like it's leaking from up by the pump that should differentiate it from the rack and pinion

    My car power steering fluid reservoir got empty after a day. I saw a big spot below it and the steering is making noise while turn but it isn't hard. I filled the reservoir bottle again and the noise was gone. Is the pump bad or something else?

    How does it affect acceleration?

    • @krayzietj

      Cause its putting too much of a load on the electrical system and the engine gets effected by that as well

    I got a car with 232k on the clock. She's leaking power steering fluid very slowly everywhere. The insane humming noise while turning... now that's impressive. Original components 2005 camry. About to swap all lines pump and rack. If you gotta change one.... you should change the other. People are beating you up in the comments bro. Make another video and tell them to buy both and stop crying.

    I just put a new(reman from dealer) pump in my car and my steering whine is now louder. Does this mean I got a bad pump or they didn’t remanufacture it properly?

    • @tenmil1
      @tenmil1 Před rokem

      Either one could do that, or foamed fluid and air bubbles in it could cause it to whine.

    I drive a 2008 Toyota Yaris, when i speed up in the highway, the entire car and steering wheel vibrates🙈 but when I slow down,it drives smooth again. But soon as I begin to speed up,it will vibrate extensively again.
    Any ideas what the problem could be?

    so i had started the car and drove like usual a few miles and suddenly the power steering goes out. i make it back home fine, but there's no fluid leak. is this my power steering pump or the steering rack? i see a lot of the pump issues have leaks and idk, it doesn't. i wanna fix this thing, but i gotta know if it can be done in the driveway where it is or if i have to bring it to my friend's place

    I have a 1999 Toyota Camry and when it rains, and I run into some water, say when I make a turn and water is there, my steering wheel locks up as in turn for a few secs. And proceeds to drive as if nothing happens. Can someone help me out with this?

    • @derekbernhard9191
      @derekbernhard9191 Před rokem

      Your accessory belt is probably slipping when wet. See if you are missing any plastic splash guards in your wheel well or under the car, or check if you need a new belt or belt tensioner

    What does it mean when my steering wheel gets hard just the right side ?

    • @VQ37MOMO
      @VQ37MOMO Před rokem +2

      If it's easy to turn the wheel then gets hard you could have a warn or seized intermediate shaft which is what connects the wheel to the rack. When it's worn or seized one side of the wheel will be easy to turn and then it might get hard to turn on the other side.

    I changed my alternator and now when I turn the car on it makes noises. I try turning the wheel and it goes a little bit and then completely stops and when it stops it also stops the spinning of my alternator. Do you know why this is?

      Ive personally never driven a car with red power steering fluid, maybe its a foreign car thing, not sure, mine has always been clear and i mostly drive GM cars. I don't agree w the video saying your power steering fluid "WILL be red." May be red or clear, sometimes a yellowish tint

    Hello, I just recently loss PS on my rx330 Lexus and fluid coming out of reservoir when I try to turn the steering wheel. Is this a pump problem? TIA

    • @zachzw
      @zachzw Před rokem

      U have to have somone look and see exactly where the fluid is coming from, if it is coming out of the pump w the cap on (unless its been way over filled) then there must be a crack in the reservoir. A small leak in a line could also squirt when you turn the wheel

      It could be bad ball joints.

    • @804MRMAN
      @804MRMAN Před rokem

      I have only had Lexus and Toyota cars. But usually, if all is well, as far as suspension parts and the ball joints are good then it's the steering rack or could simply be Zero Point Calibration which is MANDATORY after an alignment because the steering angle sensor is vital to the abs, vsc, traction control, vehicle speed etc.
