    Thank you Yeonwoo. I like all the problem lecture series you've started doing. :-)

    I found the first move of the third problem OMG I am so happy (I am 20 kyu)
    Although I am sure I would have messed up the follow ups

    The second problem is cool, while the first move is compeletely intuitive - in my game I would probably not find descending on the first line right away ;)

    Super interesting, as usual ! I'm always curious when I see a go problem how it could end with this disposition. Is there some tips to find the right progression ?

    For kyus to improve most quickly, do you recommend playing more games, or solving more problems?

      Both! If you'd rather play games though, and don't have a teacher, I really recommend downloading Lizzie or visiting Zbaduk and reviewing your games with AI. I stagnated in Go for ~5 years just playing for fun, but after I started to review in AI I got better immediately.

      I have stuck in mid SDk for many years because I do not practice solving problem. I just play games. Play more but not study and you will not advance

    I am curious at what rank these Problems are
    often they state things like 5 kyu problem or double digit kyu problem
    Are these high Kyu level or above?

    Is it possible for black to avoid the Ko by descending?

    • @studentofsmith
      @studentofsmith Před 4 lety

      If black descends to 14-1 in that situation white can respond at 14-3.

    I'm really bad at this kinda calculation. I tried to work out these problems, but my skill is not improving. I don't know why 🤣

    i m new and have solved several tsumego problems but i can't remember almost all of them. is it really helpful?

    • @Chlapichlapo
      @Chlapichlapo Před 4 lety

      Quantity matters with tsumego. Better many simple ones than a few complicated. It's not about remembering by heart, but about just understanding and with practice you will solve the easiest tsumego without even thinking.

    what is the difference between tesuji and tsumego ?

    • @natec.2346
      @natec.2346 Před 4 lety

      Tesuji are generally clever moves while tsumego are problems that deal with life and death

    • @mightywimp9145
      @mightywimp9145 Před 4 lety

      Tsumego are "go problems" usually about life and death, making a group alive or killing it.
      Tesuji are clever moves, nice moves.
      A Tsumego can sometime be solved by a Tesuji.

    • @demopem
      @demopem Před 4 lety

      Tsumego is "life&death", usually meaning a problem where an isolated group should be killed, or manage to live. Tesuji is "skillful" or "clever" play; the vital point in a shape that accomplishes something, not necessarily killing or making life. It can be connecting groups, or the best end-game move in a shape as well. Usually a not-so-obvious move. The solution to a tsumego problem is sometimes a tesuji, but a tesuji doesn't have to be in a tsumego.

    • @malyktosik
      @malyktosik Před 4 lety

      tsumego is a life and death/ko problem, tesuji is about one key move ;)

    • @malyktosik
      @malyktosik Před 4 lety +1

      so tsumego is about reading and sequences while tesuji is usually shape point ;) that's how I understand it ;)

    This video is not good for my mental health. I'm going to ignore the existence of tesujis like the second problem. It's how i cope.
