I have lived in Camden since I was born in the early 80s and it's so nostalgic see all these old photos, thanks for bringing back a lot of memories for me of growing up there, especially of the high street and the Camden Lock, Chalk Farm area
Bought back so many memories THANK YOU 🙏 for uploading this
Hi all, what an amazing video which brought back lovely memories, when I was a kid. The good old days. Love the music .
thank you kindly...
Great little video, I grew up near the Fortress Road picture, I think it was a Piano shop on the junction there. I walked down KT Road a couple of years back and was quite depressed that it looked even worse than I remembered, as is true of so much of North London. Hackney has a feel of what Camden was like in the 60s-70's. Thanks for the effort.
The Midland Bank was my first bank when I moved to Camden, there was a lovely bank manager there who helped me budget.
Compendium was my favourite shop, was heartbroken when it closed. Thanks for that trip down memory lane.
Good pictures, and good memories
Must have took time finding or collecting these photos i live in Camden and to see these photos of kentish and Camden brings tears to my eyes
Great pictures, love Camden xxx
thanks Jim...
Round the station still looks the same! If you grew up there you know! Xxx
EXCELLENT!
My manor in the 50'&60's it was a great great place to live...then. Went back recently...Hampstead Road NW1 area...it was like a, expletive deleted, filthy rat infested ghetto. Nearly threw up, I couldn't wait to get out of the place and get home for a shower, felt like my head had been shat in. My Mum and Dad would have cried. Such a shame to have my childhood, and teenage, memories of a smashing place to grow up, defiled. Thanks for posting mate, very nice photographs.
pro tip: watch movies on flixzone. Me and my gf have been using it for watching loads of movies during the lockdown.
@Mohammad Louis yup, I have been using flixzone} for months myself :D

Thankyou. I grew up in Kentish Town in the fifties. Would have loved some labels. Lots of places look familiar and I can't place them.Where did they come from Mr M?
I collected many of them over the years from all sources, thanks.x
@@cadetmouse She is spot on. Label the pics please!
Just seen photo of the Roundhouse, saw Waiting for Godot and XRaySpecs there.(not on the same night, obvs)
Graffiti about The Somers Town and The Camden Tongs, the two most feared gangs in the area in the 60s.
The O bar!
Compendium Books and Dingwalls were the only two reasons anyone went to Camden until what was once a quiet, run-down neighborhood was transformed into a hideous tourist draw.
I worked at dingwalls and bought my magazines at Compendium. The heart was finally ripped out of camden high street by the end of the 80s...now its crap. Nothing.

Used to deliver to Pages Stores in the 1960's it was a big very busy shop, do you know when it closed ?
Sadly I dont, but my guess was the late 70s as I never saw it in the early 80s....
I have no idea, sometime late 70s early 80s, wasn't there in 82' when I first came to Camden....
Needs labelling which pics are where. Confusing and I've lived her near 25 years
