    Hi Bill, those are three good speakers for the price. my choice would probably be the Yamaha because I use my Bose system for my music library at home in the house or in my backyard when I'm outside relaxing on my deck. thanks again Bill for another great video.

    FYI : PB110 gets louder if plugged into AC. Also, since port is on the back, you can boost the bass by putting it up against a wall.

      Alto are good speakers. I have an older 10" model. Sounds good but clips early and sounds harsh when pushed. At $250 the TS 408 is a great deal but I have heard to get the price down they use cheaper parts and don't last like a Yamaha that has a 7 year warranty!

      Looking forward to that next video. Loving the Dbr10! Without your videos, I would never have repurchased the Dbr10, Thank you! Interesting how the fan runs almost silent. My QSC K8.2 has annoying fan noise audible at low volume! If one is looking for full range sound in a small speaker with a really nice midrange, the only other alternative is the $1,300 Bose Pro8!

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz Glad you're loving the DBR10 again and you're welcome!! Yes the fan is definitely quieter than the DXR series but on the DXR series you can actually see the fan so it's a different setup.
      Out of town for a few days but I have to get that uploaded when I get back home. 40 yards pretty interesting for those two speakers. I'll be looking forward to your take between the CP8 and the DBR10 turned up.

    Hi, really nice review! Can you clarify, i dont quite follow - 87dB for the JBL and 100 for the Mackie, and you say "when you go from the JBL to the Mackie that is 3 dB more, like 2 jbl’s"? Is the Mackie then at 90 dB or is it actually 13 dB louder than the jbl? Sorry, but I get à bit confused here…😅 The best!/Dennis

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz

      Yes Mackie is 13dB louder! More like 4 JBL's=single Mackie. Partybox speaker is not meant to compete with PA speakers as far as volume.

    Thanks for the vid. Just FYI you said Mackie is like the equivalent of 2 JBLs. But that’s because I think you were thinking about 3 db difference between the 2, but it’s actually 13 db more according to your testing. So the difference in vol is bigger between the JBL vs the Mackie than the Mackie vs the Yamaha. Let me know if that’s accurate.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před rokem +1

      Yeah you're right, I was thinking when I add a second same speaker/a pear I usually only get a 3dB boost. Difference between JBL vs Mackie is huge!

      @steve31785 Před rokem

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz gotcha. So you know, if you plug the JBL 110 into that little battery bank you have I think it’ll give around a 4db boost which is def noticeable. I have 2 JBL 110s and it gives more volume and bass when plugged in. (Not to mention greatly extended battery) :)

      @@WWeiss-nv5vz the Mackie go is 200 watt rms. Is it? Less than the jbl which is 240. But I guess that it louder due to the fact that it's a PA speaker. But how abt the bass? I like loud music but also boomy bass. Is the bass on the Mackie at least 1/2 the bass of the jbl? Add DUAL-JBL Partybox ESSENTIAL's to this comparison. They are only $200, so a pair can be had for the price of one PB110. Yes, the Essential is basically 1/2 of the PB110, so two may produce a similar volume BUT what you gain is DISTRIBUTION. Don't underestimate the effect of quantity & proximity of the sound source. It is common for DJ's to just set up just one speaker in a non-mainroom space for cocktail hour. Guests sitting near it get blasted, and guests on the other side of space don't get enough volume. The sweetspot for volume(and frequency response) is fairly small. Drop smaller dual or quad units around the space for a superior experience. This is the beauty of Bluetooth! Sound distribution is equally as important as volume.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 11 měsíci

      Thanks, I agree with you, two speakers usually beat a single sound source. The exception though is the Bose Pro8/16/32. One column throws 180 degrees filling a huge space! Of course completely different price category.

    • @WWeiss-nv5vz
      @WWeiss-nv5vz  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Yamaha will be considerably louder through a mixer. As far as sound you really should listen to them. Two very different sound signatures. Yamaha more refined mids with lows boosted slightly. More Hifi sounding/smooth. Very similar to Bose sound if you are familiar with Bose. EV typical PA live sound - crystal clear sounding like you are on stage. Some say fatiguing after awhile. If you don't need internal battery, new EV ZLX8 G2 is even louder than Dbr10. Personally to get best of both worlds, I use EV for the clarity and add a small sub to fill in missing mids and next level low end.
