  • Below are the topics I covered in this video on my M1078 LMTV. I have added time stamp links for each subject.
    0:42 - Light Material Handling Crane
    War Fox Equipment - warfoxequipment.com/index.html
    24v winch - ebay.us/beXFwY
    24v reversing solenoid - ebay.us/NyP7hN
    Winch remote - amzn.to/3So5jK0

    @CallMeColt One suggestion, you should mount your jerry cans with the openings to the INSIDE. 1. To even further lessen the possibility of road debris or catching a branch off-road on the cap, 2. To prevent thieves from simplely unscrewing the cap and siphoning your fuel while you're at a restaurant or away from the vehicle, and 3. To make it easier for you to pick up the can when you need to take it off. Also, you should probably find a way to lock the fuel can to the vehicle if you're going to be away from it for a while. I hope this helps. 8-)

      They were just in there for example in the video. All good suggestions. There's a lot to be stolen on the LMTV. It's never left untended. :)

    LOL now you need a way to use the crane's winch to lift itself into the bed. Maybe to tilt it up into the bed socket too.

      @CallMeColtLLC  Před 5 měsíci

      No kidding! I kind of want to never have it leave the bed. At most, move it to a different corner.

    Could have you mounted ammon can controller to crane and use waterproof bulkhead connection to crane motor then just make one connection with slave cable?
    Could you have used rivnuts for jeery can install?
    Love your updates and editing.
    Thanks for sharing your talents and adventures!!

      I had originally thought about putting the ammo can directly on the crane, but if I were to store it, it would definetly get damaged. As it is, it's pretty durable when it's broken down.
      Rivetnuts would have worked fine with the jerry can mount as well. But when I can avoid them I do as they can turn into a nightmare when they go wrong. I love them though.
      i appreciate you watching & the input. :)

    I have always wanted one of those cranes, but my local hoarder would not sell the only one he has. Too late now, I sold my truck.

      Seems a lot of people with good stuff keep it & let it rot! It sucks that you had to sell your truck. Hopefully it went to someone who will appreciate all the good work you did to it. I actually need to message you & pick your brain a bit on some transmission stuff here soon.

      That is the MHC, not LMHC. MHC is what I was talking about at the end that is on the M1084 & M1086.

    Colt, for the tow bar mount, do you have the NSN for it or was it something nonmilitary?

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  Před 5 měsíci

      When I got it, it was just shown at tow bar mount & I didn't see markings on it. It is military as it is CARC painted. I'm thinking it's a standard part of some sort of recovery vehicle.

    What's the lifting capacity?

    • @milcommguy5927

      Stencil on the crane arm said MAX 1500 lbs

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  Před 5 měsíci

      I should have said in the video. As it comes from the factory, it is rated for 1,500lbs. I'd say it could do more with the proper lifting winch on it. The one I got really isn't meant for lifting. My goal was to be able to lift the 1,300lbs MEP 803A if needed & I can. So I'm happy.

    Great set up with the crane Marine! I know you like to keep things authentic and military correct...but the ratchet system for the boom is slower than a democrat at the southern border. Perhaps a hand held drill type electric drive to move it along a lot faster. I wouldn't want 1500 pounds of weight teetering off the side of that vehicle at that height any longer than necessary. Just my two cents brother! Nice gen sets as well. Are those from War Fox?

    • @CallMeColtLLC
      @CallMeColtLLC  Před 5 měsíci

      I thought about making an adapter for the handle but it is very specific so the handle will stay as it is for now. If I end up with no drill or something, then I can't move it at all. The generators are ones I have gone through & sell. The one in the video is currently for sale actually. ebay.us/NvcX6M

      Good point about the drill. You need the drill and of course a battery or power source. I'll check out the generator. Thanks!@@CallMeColtLLC
