I love the exterior choice for your truck build! I'm surprised porches aren't more popular and I imagine the roof shape helps a little bit with gas milage versus an overcab design. Do you ever plan on releasing your blueprints for people to see just how much it takes to plan big projects like this?

Man you are inspiring .... You put so much thought into making a comfortable home on wheels ... I have this urge for so long to at least dream about building myself one but finances and not being able to build one cuz I don't have caroentary skills ... Your words gave me strength to build one for myself as well ... Started saving more and more for the appliances ...

@@swatichauhan7912.. You coild do it.. get a good friend that has basic carpentry skills.. MAINLY how to read a tape measure.. (measure TWICE.. cut ONCE 😊).. put your ideas down on paper FIRST!!..
Go to an office supply store.. get you a pack of lined graph paper.. a pencil & a ruler..
Draw your plan on paper.. even using Tims layout if that would suit you.. put ALL your thoughts down on paper.. then make a "to do" checklist..
Check items off until you have your own "truck house" 😊

I already have a nice 1989 Ford F250 w/4x4 & 5.8ltr V8
I will build pretty much same layout too.. I am now retired w/ an EXCELLENT Union Pension.. i may have a little advantage as i am very mechanically inclined 😊
I will also swap out my truck bed for a flatbed & use my factory truckbed as a trailer like Tim!!
I will have ample storage space between both beds as i dont anticipate going to Alaska.. although that would be an AWESOME trip!!.. I've no need of a snow mobile as i would properly use it only one time (maybe i could rent one once there 🤔)
Wife & I LOVE going to the North Georgia Mountains..
I will have mine built & ready by Fall 2024..

Inspired bro! 97 f350 7.3 in the driveway as of last week nature's head toilet, 2 burner cooktop, max ac sitting in my garage starting to gather building materials as of now. Taking a chance at this ive got minimal building experience I was a m1a2 abrams main battle tank crewman for 19 yrs not many similarities except I've proven to myself I'm capable of doing anything I put my mind to. Thanks for the inspiration!

This is what im looking 4.. I live in gulf coast state so the insulation value that would keep me cool is the same that would keep you warm.. Also i have some small cedar trees that died and been trying to figure out what to do with them I like the post on the porch idea.

Diesel engines in the Alaska winter's do not like to start. That's why plug ins don't always work and most people leave their trucks running when they go to the store.
Why not a split window to be able to get to the cab in case of bear roll. Looks beautiful. Enjoy life and clean air/water there.
Mine starts fine in the winter, good batteries and a good starter make all the difference (and special diesel winter additive. The split window would be a little small to crawl through so I didn't mess with it, I installed a reverse camera to see when backing up;^)

Very nice! I've never seen one of those fans installed on a corrugated roof before.
Yup! I researched it and couldn't find a thing, but I just went for it. Stacked 8 strips of butyl tape, then used dicor lap sealant over the top (the video doesn't show the dicor)... it actually works awesome and doesn't leak a drop!

My latest video (last Sunday) answers some of these questions. Not worried about rot because I used truck bed liner to coat and waterproof all outside floor and lower walls, and captains varnish to waterproof the wood and seal it up. Tyvek in the walls is waterproof and breathable. I'm 6 ft tall, the cabin camper is actually for sale (just the camper, not the truck), hit me up if interested:^)

thanks man, nope the truck carries it fine, camper is 1,650 lbs, truck and camper combined is 9,600 lbs, so it's under the GVWR.
