- Hello, my name is Ellie Griffin. I have been exploring and using the acrylic fluid art technique for the past few years. I particularly love the Dutch pour technique which was introduced by Rinske Douna @RinskeDouna. Her art is amazing!! I have added finger swipes to this technique which is known as a Botanical Dutch pour. This technique originated by Tina inspired Art @TinasInspiredArt. Check it out as it certainly lives up to its name for a botanical feel to the Dutch Pour, just beautiful!
I also enjoy discovering other fluid art methods to create beautiful paintings.
This video is a tutorial on how I do a botanical Dutch pour with many colours.
Most of my paints are acrylic Global paints. This is a brand that is Australian made and easily accessible in most art stores.
Base colour is custom-made using Global paints to make a light grey and purple colour. It is also mixed with Australian floetrol. 50/50
Top colours are Global - White, Paynes grey mixed with metallic pearl, Tahiti, magenta mixed with metallic black, ultra violet with metallic pearl, and metallic pearl.
Pebeo - iridescent gold,
All top colours are mixed with water only.

Stunning colors and movement!
I believe in the art world the wood pieces are called Keys.
Yes, that was the one I forgot to mention.😁
Those colors are amazing. Love this
Thank you. 😁
Your art piece really did turn out beautifully! In the US, those wooden pieces are called spacers, stretchers, or wedges. They are used to stretch the canvas and make it taught. I see in the comments some refer to them as keys but thats a new one for me.🥰
Adding the gold was a great idea.
❤ ❤ ❤ your art , talent, colour combinations & your chilled personality. Always refreshing to listen to your tutorials as you talk to you and not at you. Thankyou 🙏😇. .
Oh & those wooden inserts to keep canvas tight are known as 'keys'. 😊'
Thanks Amanda for your lovely comments and thanks for the information on the “keys”.😀
Wow. This is absolutely stunning. The details are perfectly placed. Your color palette is awesome. I love it. 😍😍😍

Really beautiful!
Wood bits are typically called shims
The wooden pieces to tighten the canvas are referred to as Keys
Now thats a dutch pour flower
Thank you 😁
So pretty always love finding you artist to follow. I think you must have a fluorescent light in your room though, because of the flickering I would try changing
In construction those wood pieces are called shims. They are used to give some extra lift to things like cabinets to make them level. By the way, your piece is stunning!💖
Thank you
Gorgeous for sure! Love it! 😊
That is remarkable. I love how three dimensional it looks. Like petals or leaves on a plant.
Thanks 😁

@Ellen G Art Designs I'm in total awe of what you created here. I've always loved art. I spent many years in art classes and it was always my safe haven. But, over the last few years I can't seem to be inspired to draw or do anything artistic really. After seeing u create this masterpiece ...UVE INSPIRED ME to try to get creative again. THANK U FOR SHARING UR TALENT WITH US.
questions....how much water do u add to the paints? BIGGEST QUESTION...how long did it take u to learn this technique??
THANKS AGAIN❤❤❤❤
How do u keep from burning the canvas/paint when blow torching it?
Thank you. I have just recently created a video on how I mix my paints. Check it out as it will help with the water question. I've been doing fluid art for 3 years now, and over time worked out how to get a good result with Dutch pours that I'm happy with. With torching, just keep moving it so it doesn't burn the paint. Hope that helps and all the best with getting back into it. :)
New subscriber here! This is absolutely beautiful! Perfection!! ❤
