    I have two of the Ridge Washer guns (one for house, one for shop) and I have been super pleased. The trigger lock mechanism works great on both, and I find it’s incredibly helpful when priming the lines with water before turning on the pressure washer. Highly recommend.

    Thanks for getting the Ridge Washer gun to test! That’s the only one I’ve seen with the “liability” trigger:) I ended up getting it and swapped the brass 1/4” qc for a SS veloci and it looks good. If it had the smooth pull of the Mingle(mines called a JoeJet) it would be the top contender mid range gun. I have the SS Yamatic and totally agree it’s bulky and for the the price you may as well get the MTM. I believe at one point the WX Mech was at $20. That definitely woulda been worth it for the connections. Excellent job!! The pull test was the most eye opening for sure. I see an sgs28 in the near future. Never thought I’d be a pw gun junkie😂.

    Sup Keav! I've built a small setup for my neighbor, we should be done with the project today. I have MTM sgs28 vs his Active one he bought, I've watched the comparison you did of both. I can't wait to use it in action, it's got the click, I'm not sure if I'll like that, but I might, we see!

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před rokem

      Click can be removed if you don't like it. You can't go wrong with either one. I would say if you did several cars in one day the SGS28 is going to have way less hand fatigue at the end of the day.

    Fed EX Ground China New Jersey!
    Had me rolling when you said that.
    I did upgrade my gun and hose after seeing a bunch of videos but went the real budget friendly and didn't get the hose that unkinks easily. The gun came with a foam cannon and seemed like a good deal, the gun works well but no swivel.
    I do like the attention to detail you put in these videos. I may look to upgrade to a swivel gun, that is if I don't win the giveaway.
    I've never even tried to open my pressure washer gun. But it's cool to see how they look inside.
    Great video.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před rokem +1

      My first big purchase was the MTM SGS28 and it didn't work so took apart and found a small piece of metal in the valve. cleaned it out and perfect ever since. I'm not one to return so I like to open things up and fix or modify. Was able to get the Ridge Washer swivel spinning pretty good after a few seconds with my belt sander. There was no way I was going to say those letters each time so that is what popped in my head. Funny thing their Amazon listing literally has that is the first part of their title. I bet that kills search results.

    • @TRINInDC925
      @TRINInDC925 Před rokem +1

      I have noticed that as well in multiple of your videos that you modify and fix a product. I'm the same but usually when something doesn't work and then I'll tinker with it bc at that point it's already not working.
      But I like the fact not just sending something back and seeing how to make it possibly better as well.
      At some point I may make one of the budget carts as I don't have a garage and at that time I may upgrade everything, or if I'm lucky to win the giveaway I'll start that process now.
      But it's been interesting, I've been very much getting more into the appeal of wanting to wash my car or other people's cars that I know. The process as it can be relaxing and not a chore.
      I swear, if it wasn't raining for the next few days or even later today, I would try to wash my car even without being able to use my power washer.
      I couldn't say that a year ago, I wouldn't even give a thought or bother. Really says a lot at how much I have started enjoying washing vehicles.
      The right tools do make all the difference, that's for sure.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před rokem

      Gave it to a friend, but could always go and test. I would think though it should be the same as the Essential Washer. They are close to being identical and pretty sure manufactured in the same facility.

  • @ferrarista27
    @ferrarista27 Před rokem +3

    I've been looking at pictures of the internals of the McKillans. The Mingle is basically the same thing. The Essential looks the same, but is more refined with nickel plated housing and the shape of the brass housing is shapped differently at the 1/4 inch tip. I would suggest you use a magnet to test if the tubes inside the guns are real stainless or just Nickel or chrome plated steel.If the magnet sticks it is steel, if not it is stainless.

  • @William_NS
    @William_NS Před rokem +2

    I bought that Ridge Washer gun because of the trigger lock mechanism. I wouldn't worry about tripping and falling with it. The lock barely holds the gun in the "on" position when you want it to. Sneeze? Fart? Touch the trigger at all? Yeah that trigger lock pops right off. It's so bad at holding the trigger down, in fact, that it has been hanging on a hook in my shed for almost a year. Best advice, just save your money up and get you an MTM SGS28. I use mine with KEW quick connect and have never looked back. I have at least 4 of those guns collecting dust.

    • @annagraham6204
      @annagraham6204 Před rokem +1

      I did for that reason and aesthetics. I think your spot on with just getting the 28. Had no idea the pull was that easy.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před rokem

      It looked like it would pop out if you dropped it. Somebody else commented that best way is to lock it and apply a slight bit of pressure, but not enough to unlock it. You have to have a little bit of hand grip to control the gun enough. If you are willing to spend you will never regret the purchase of an SGS28. Its so smooth and I have abused for 3 years now.

      From my perspective it the best value in pressure washer guns, but is a big spend if you are starting out your wash setup build. Many will start out with something like the Mingle or even one without a swivel and then upgrade latter. just depends on your budget.

    I was thinking about buying a Mckillans but I see others are recommending a MTM SGS28. I see that one is $25 more. Would you say paying $25 more for the MTM over the Mckillans is worth it? or is the Mckillans good enough. Im just detailing my own cars with a 3000 psi electric pressure washer.

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 3 měsíci

      This is a tricky one as the Mckillans is a great price and a good sprayer. I myself would buy the SGS28 every time over any other spray gun that is less than $100. I have tried them all and none of them feel as good in the hand and the trigger pull is the easiest out there. I have abused mine for 3 years now and all I have had to do is replace a quick connect a month ago due to it finally leaking and had to clear some sediment that built up inside which would happen to any sprayer.

    Hi , I just bought some cheap gun. But my wrist hurts when using it. Feels like the pressure are too strong. Is it because of the gun or it’s because of i’m not strong enough to hold any gun?

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 2 měsíci

      It’s due to the tension on the trigger. Most of the cheaper ones are much harder to pull back and hold. If you want very little wrist fatigue you have to spend more to get and SGS28 which is very easy to pull the trigger and hold it down. I have been using mine for 3 years now.

      If it’s coming out of where it swivels then I’m not sure much can be done. Unless it’s a leak internal and it’s coming out of the gun at the swivel. There are a few areas that can be tightened if you remove the plastic coverings. If it’s a threaded area Teflon and leverage to tighten might help.

      All connection threads on these are NPT. Depending on which end is if it’s 1/4 or 3/8 inch in size. 3/8 at the bottom where the hose connects and 1/4 where the nozzles would connect.

    How's that AC splitter holding up for you so far?

      Amazing so far and very easy to install by yourself. Will be filming a phase 2 wash bay video once I get my outside drain done. Water is not going where I want it outside and I may have cut my channels a little lower than my driveway so some water sits there.

      Also I always wondered what you’re gonna do with all these extra items you get for your reviews. Now I know!

      I used to give out to friends, but they all have good setups now. I'll collect enough to do some combo giveaways, but only if its a worth product. I won't giveaway the crappy ones.

    Essential vs mtm sgs28 is it worth the difference on price ?

    • @CarsWithKeav

      For what I like in a sprayer the SGS28 is worth it as the trigger pull tension is so easy on the SGS28. Plus I know it’s durable with my sgs28 being almost 4 years old dropped 100’s of times and still runs great.

    You titled this video which one was best and you didn’t give us a recommendation? What the hell is the point of this video?

    • @CarsWithKeav
      @CarsWithKeav  Před 3 měsíci

      The point is to give you all the information to make your own decision. There is no best as everybody has an opinion on what they think are the most important features. I could ask 10 people and would get at least 5 different answers. The title has a question mark which means I am asking you based on the video which do you think is best. The comment section is a discussion on that as well.

    He spent all this money on this review when he could’ve bought a mosmatic / SGS35 acqualine

    • @CarsWithKeav

      I have an SGS28 and been using for 3 years now and that's the most I will pay for a Spray gun for personal use. The SGS35 IMO is too big and not worth the money to somebody who washes their car a few times a week. It was developed to be a food grade cleaning product. Mosmatic is not worth the purchase either as I don't like the click and prefer the no tension trigger of the MTM. I buy these as a way to review and inform my audience and create content.
