There is a block, the difference between NES and SNES is that NES can use any block to start counting down time, but SNES uses a special block, not any other
What went through my head starting with seeing the thumbnail in my recommended: "Huh? Oh sure I'll watch that." "Oh, cool so it still works. That's neat." "Wait, it's-" "I- oh..."
This has been known for a while, I believe. There's been documentation out about version differences between the original and this one for a long time.
In the NES version, mario needs to run into a block for the timer to count down when you complete a stage, but in the SNES version, no block was needed. That's all i know.
THis is because the game waits until mario is at the castle, so he can do his little Cool Sign. Because he never reaches the point, he just keeps on walking forever, and ever and ever.

Proves that SMAS was just source code ports of the original games tweaked heavily since glitches work between each version.
yeah
when i was playing smb2 with rtc same corruption were occuring but with different texutres
@Kembi IIRC if you enable debug mode for SMB3 in All Stars you'll get the same menu positions on the title screen as you would for the NES version.
How do you explain the weird physics after breaking a Brick Block (in Super Mario Bros. 1 & TLL) then?
