- My 2024 MLB Predictions were....well some of them were good but others were horrendous. Let's laugh at them together.

Yeah, the Brewers losing Counsell to the Cubs was the best thing that could have happened for them.

My dad is the biggest counsel hatter I know. He was thrilled that he went to the cubs so he could ‘fuckup that organization back ten years’ he’s unbearable when right but I think the cubs would be happy to go back ten years.
Brewers have surprised people including myself because all these rookie have been playing out of their minds and pat Murphy has changed the team with the way they have been aggressive on the bases so hopefully they can keep it up
I’m not surprised. But they are exceeding my expectations but I knew the lace place predictions were full of shit. I predicted turang would break out but he exceeded my expectations

Murphy getting this group aggressive on the bases has probably accounted for more wins instead of relying on the long ball as in the past. Liked Counsell but loving Murph!!

Most of them werent haters except the Marlins one which is pretty funny since they turned out to be such garbage
In your defense, I’m a Brewers fan and even I didn’t expect them to lead the division for nearly the entire first half of the season (outside of that brief strong start the Pirates had). Although, I did think you picking them to finish last in the division was a bit of a stretch.
I do think the Brewers need to bolster their rotation a little bit, but I do think when they get Devin Williams back, that should help out an already loaded bullpen.
My idea for the central was the Reds, Cubs, Pirates, and Cardinals all should improve from 2023, and the Brewers were the only team I thought would get worse. They have 100% made me eat it so far

The Red Sox are shutting everyone up. The craziest part about it is they’re still one of the most injured teams. No Story, Casas, Whitlock. Doesn’t matter. Loving this team

They did last year, start out hot in the 1st half than dip of in the 2nd relax a lot of games left

Jackson Merrill should have made all stars over castillonos he needs to win ROY. Merrill is the future
Skenes is as close to a lock for ROY as anyone is to locking any award this year so far

Heliot Ramos has more war than either of them. Also Merrill is better than Castillonos so your right about that

@@Raptor15468 on baseball reference Ramos has 2.9 and Merrill has 2.4. Ramos is still a great defender but I don’t doubt Merrill is better just because the highlights I’ve seen. There is a lot of baseball left and they are both great players I wouldn’t be surprised if either one was ROY. Paul skenes also could win it too

Kinda knew the cubs would suck so far in the 2024 season. I have them in 5th this season. STL is showing a lot of prominence at 43-40 and I’m sure they can still win at least 90 games. Yet again I unfortunately think the dodgers will clinch another playoff spot. Im for sure the Phil’s will finish with the best of the best in MLB. I have them at 103-59. Just a wild guess, I’ll say the World Series will be the brewers and the Indians
As a Brewers fan, we’re a fan base that is used to everyone sleeping on us and then hey we still make it to the postseason again just like 5 of the last 6 years

As a Brewers fan, I am pleasantly surprised. Pat Murphy has injected enthusiasm into his team. Hated Counsell going to the Cubs. But very shocked by how Chicago has been performing. Lots of baseball left to play.

I still think it’s a great pick for the Orioles win the World Series I mean there team has been incredible especially their pictures have been incredible aside from Cade Povich He’s been really shaky and he currently has an ERA of 3.94 but other than him the Orioles pictures as well as their bullpen have been incredible
Year after year people sleep on Milwaukee, and year after year they massively outperform expectations. Since at least 2017 the Brewers have only failed to exceed the predicted record once.
Yeah the one year I actually DID pick them to win the Central (2022)
Braves are gonna make a comeback just like they did in 2021 (when they won the World Series btw).

These are actually solid predictions considering just how wild and unpredictable baseball can be. How many people had the Dbacks going to the world series last year?
seriously. I thought they had a decent shot at going to the playoffs and they did with 84 wins, not exactly a great team, but those playoffs are a crapshoot

Thanks for the mention but given me some credit for the Guardians is generous as I was wrong about alot. Bullpen instead of being a weakness is the strongest part of the team. Offense hasn't need Manzardo or Delauter. Only question is does the starting pitching hold up. Vogt has been impressive. This is turning into another year where no one talks Jose Ramirez but he will be a top 3 in MVP.
We will see on Craig Counsell but with the way Milwaukee is playing it looks more like Brewers made Counsell look good rather than the other way around. Good managers have a tendency to get their teams to finish strong so we will see if the cubs made a mistake.
Everyone just assumed Counsell was one of the best managers in baseball. You could blame the Cubs but this team was on the verge of the playoffs last year so how they got worse on the field without even getting worse on paper...resigning Bellinger, getting Imanaga, getting a great performance from Assad, and still they are a frustrating team, doesnt bode well for the skipper
I really wish the giants new players would be more consistent, but Ramos has stepped up in a big way. It seems like the team is gelling more and getting better, I think next season we'll be a lot better and actually ready to compete
I think they have a shot at the playoffs after beating the dodgers and braves and playing the guardians so close. Ramos is a beast and Chapman is getting hot
As a Giants/Orioles fan... I'm not expecting a playoff run from the Giants, as for Baltimore? Make the playoffs, and then we can talk.

The Dodgers' current pace rn is honestly very normal for them. During the 111-win season, they went into the All Star Break at 52-30.
Look for them to give me and fans more false hope as they get hot after the ASG. They will win 100+ games, win the division comfortably, and fold in the postseason again.
It's why I legit have refused to watch a baseball game since the Korea Series. Have been doing so since last season.

It's why I've stopped watching the regular season entirely since then lol. I would be more shocked if we failed to win 100 games than losing in the NLDS again.
i have a totally different standard. i just want them to be in the race til football season starts. entertain me over the summer, anything on top of that is just gravy
I’m thinking we’re going to get a Yankees vs. Phillies or a Guardians vs. Dodgers World Series this year. But if I had it my way I would want to see a Mariners vs. Brewers or a Cardinals vs. Guardians World Series. But who knows what’s going to happen, I mean nobody predicted the World Series was going to be Rangers vs. Diamondbacks last year, so let’s see what the future holds for us

This feels like a repeat of the 2021 season for the braves. They're gonna trade for eflin, arozarena, soler, and rosario and go on to win the division and world series
The braves don’t have the farm system to pull that off this year, I don’t really think they have a real shot at the W.S

@@calls7989 that’s not even close to correct. In 21 the Braves had the #15 system with some real prospects such as Shea Langaleirs to use as bait. This year their system is 26th and they don’t have any real prospect capital. The Rays are going to sell high and the Braves don’t have what it takes to get the guys they need. Especially not with teams like the Brewers, Padres, Pirates, Cubs, and Twins all in contention and having deep farm systems and a desire to buy
Cy Young picks were reasonable guesses but didnt work out.
I don't know a whole lot about the Brewers, but they seem to be able to fix broken pitchers and develop unheralded players into big league contributors. Someone on the instructional level in that organization knows what they're doing.
Give the brewers time. Their magic is slowly fading. Someone is going to leap frog them

My picks were similar to yours at the beginning. The Dodgers aren’t quite there just yet. Too many injuries. I have the Phillies in the World Series though. Over the O’s.
Dodgers starting pitching has a helluva staff on the IL. Also without Betts and Muncy that lineup gets really short really fast
@@homerunproductions162 people didn’t realize how important Muncy was to that lineup til he wasn’t in the thing. Three more weeks of play give or take without Mookie. And yeah that’s the greatest rotation in baseball on the IL for sure with Yamamoto out. I see the Dodgers being much improved next year though if Kershaw returns healthy and Shohei in the rotation.
Kershaw (maybe), Buehler healthy, Gonsolin, May, Yamamoto, Glasnow, Miller, Stone, and of course Ohtani - it could be spectacular if everything works out as planned

They're on pace for it. Let's see if their pitching holds up in the 2nd half. they're doing this with the 2nd worst offense and 6th best pitching in the NL. Their pythagorean W/L has them 8 games under .500 and they're actually 4 games over. Are they sneaky good or is this all about to fall apart

even though the Reds got murdered by injuries I don't think they would have won the central, this is coming from a reds fan, maybe next year with our #2 pick in the draft

I remember last year I had high hopes for them and on my midseason prediction check I was laughing at myself for having them in the playoffs. Lo and behold, barring a last-week collapse they would have been in
White Sox World Series run starts now, and by World Series run I mean the run for like I don't know, the 2030 World Series, i don't know anymore, I have no hope in anything this team does anymore...
they had a pretty good rebuild leading into 2020/2021, shame it didn't last. 2022 was so unbelievably disappointing. on paper, i thought they could win the pennant

So I thought this division would have a bunch of mediocre teams and the Reds REALLY improved their pitching over the offseason which was their achilles heel. those who didnt pick the Reds picked the cubs and they both look horrid right now
In all fairness, you did get most of the east and west divisions right. Both centrals are crap shoots if we are being honest so I think the predictions have been good so far. Now the Cy Young and MVPs on the other hand....
Every year it seems like the central divisions shock me. I do try to go out on a limb sometimes to mix it up but when it comes to the central i just have no idea

True, BUT a lot of these trends are going to hold up. There will be some good teams that fold and disappointing teams that make a run. The cubs were a joke at the deadline last year and they should have made the playoffs

well last year they had a mid tier offense and the best pitching. they lost corbin burnes, the best offseason move was getting Hoskins, and then they lost Counsell for what that's worth - I felt like every other team in the central was getting better except for the brewers

Yeah when it comes to the Royals you were obviously way off but I don’t blame you. If you aren’t Royals focused, and you aren’t you cover the whole league, it was easy to miss that they were much better in the 2nd half after they got rid of dead weight like Franmil Reyes, Hunter Dozier, JBJ jr., etc…, Bobby Witt turned into a legit Superstar, Ragans is a legit Cy Young contender, Vinnie Pasquantino was out over 100 games, and even more reasons. I think people just see Royals, think “bad and always gonna be bad”, and move on. The team at the end of the year wasn’t a 106 loss team and they spent legit money especially for Lugo and Wacha. Combine that with maybe the best 2 month stretch of Salvy’s career and boom a much better team. When the Guardians inevitably have their dip (they’ve played the least amount of games of anyone, their entire bullpen has been excellent all year and they are gonna blow some games eventually, their Rotation is pretty bad outside of Bibee, and their offense has been shooting way over their heads) and the Royals improve their Bullpen I believe this will end up being a 3 team race if Minn can stay healthy (oh wait check notes… Lewis just got hurt again and they are still relying on the health of Buxton and Correa and if you believe they can stay healthy I’ve got some nice Oceanfront Property in Arizona to sell you lol) and a 2 team race if they can’t. Wouldn’t shock me to see the Royals actually win the Central…
I did know the Royals were improving but when you're as bad as they were, how often to you jump from 106 losses to 88 wins. Kind of shades of Baltimore in 2022. I figured the rebuild would start paying off at some point but you talk about flipping a switch with no transition period, unless you consider their 14-13 finish last year as a sign of good things to come.
@@homerunproductions162 yeah that’s part of what being focused on just the Royals was about lol. We saw all these things and thought “huh they are gonna be better next year especially if they can fix the SP” and we were right. Most Royals fans were thinking 75-78 wins though not Division contenders lol. That has only come about due to their incredibly good start

Usually people trash prediction videos as horrible because of the insane picks, not the sensible picks. Most teams dont have wild swings from one year to the next unless they make major organizational changes. My worst picks were the ones I went out on a limb for - Reds, Tigers
