I finished the Aran Gallant by Caidree in a pink shade of Drops Air in January. I loved working with it and it blocked in like a day. I definitely will work with it again. I’m in the states and ordered from Wool Warehouse. Shipping was so quick. I will order more colors on the next sale
That sounds lovely! I'm a huge fan of the variety of pink shades in Drops Air. The next cast-on will be the Eurus sweater by Aegyo knit in the magenta-y shade that I showed here!

So glad I found your channel. BTW I just ordered a few skeins of Air, and I chose 37 too ! It looks beautiful, I will be so happy knitting a scarf. It looks comfy and easy to knit. Can't wait.... but I have to wait for my package till monday. I love Drops, especially Fabel, baby merino, Nepal, safran and muskat, and Alpaca too. Colours are beautiful, quality is fine and it is not too expensive. I order my yarn from Kalidou on line, I live in France and shipping is ok. I ordered some Nord and some Flora too... Thank you for your video.

as a newer knitter ive done a ton of research on yarn and so many people have complained about drops being pill-y. I had no clue you could just hold w/ mohair and add lanolin into the wash to make it easy to care for and so hardwearing!!! im definitely going to go ahead and buy sweater quantities of yarn here, and save al my fancy boutique yarn for when im a little more experienced!
It's still not the most hardwearing yarn, but my drops air + kid silk sweaters have definitely stood the test of time better :) I think its biggest benefit is that it feels good for the cost (it's the most budget-friendly blow yarn I've worked with, and all blow yarns are a bit pilly anyway no matter how expensive they are) :)

Did you have to go up a size needle or does it change your gauge when you added the mohair? I have heard it really doesn’t. Thanks so much for the review.
I personally went up a few needle sizes (I used 7mm needles for my Tuscan sweater with Drops Air + kid silk). I just like that it gives the yarn more space to bloom after blocking. But it shouldn't affect your gauge too much if you don't change needle sizes
Hi Samantha: I just made most of a sweater with Drops Air. One sleeve done, the other waiting. I tried it on and it is a little snug. It is probably my fault, I dropped down a needle size from 9 to 8 because my eights are metallic and I didn't think it would make a difference. How does Drops Air block? Should I finish and block or frog and start over with the correct needle size? I would appreciate your opinion, thank you. My pattern is Drops Frozen Lake, 215-29
Hi! Drops Air does grow a bit with blocking (more than a sturdy yarn like Peer Gynt) so if it’s only a little snug I think you should be ok. The only exception to that is when I knit colorwork in drops air, and then it doesn’t expand while blocking
Viking Alpaca Bris! Itś a lot more expensive, but right now itś on sale at Yarnmania. Almost exactly the same as Drops Air. 98 SEK but on sale 48 SEK.
I’ve been wanting to try that! Also DSA Pus which can be a good substitute for double-stranded Air. Garnius has good deals once in a while so maybe when I’ve cleared out a bit more of my stash ☺️

The blown just means the alpaca and wool fibers are actually blown into a polyamide tube.
Do you always hold drops air double in your projects? I'm trying to figure out the thickness it produces, because I live in Greece and we usually don't have very heavy winters so I don't want something too thick and warm. Also have you ever used drops sky? How does it compare to air?
Hi! I almost never hold Drops Air double. I did it for the Bolgegenser by Anett Opheim and the Puppy Dog sweater by Hollie Soave since the patterns called for it, but I mostly use it either alone or with a strand of kid silk/mohair. Drops Sky is a bit lighter than air, but I feel like it doesn't hold its shape as well and I'm also not too fond of the new Drops Sky (I believe Drops changed something about the manufacturing process in the last few years and it now feels less soft)
Does DROPS Air felt?
I haven't personally tried felting it, but I think Alaska or Lima might be better options for felting
