  • The frame is the back of an old pick up truck, the wheels from a mobile home.
    The boom is 2 by 4 heavy tubing with 1 inch hard pins. The swing bearing comes off wood machine. The grapple is 3/8 plate with one cylinder to open & close
    its got about 9 ft 6in reach. Will lift about 600 pounds with boom extended.The trailer holds about one cord of 8 ft.wood.

    That is so cool! I am going to make one of these. You did an awesome job. From the looks it seems like you can pick up some pretty heavy logs. maybe up to 800lbs. I would guess.

    • @Euc9
      @Euc9  Před 8 lety

      +Robert Macaulay I used a big bearing off a forwarder back wheel lucky to find one
      but you can use 2 - 4 bolt flange bearing would do the same thing 2 or 2 1/2 shaft
      hope this help have fun on your log loader project.

      Thanks Euclid. I have already built my machine. I used 2 tapered roller bearings on a 2" shaft about 2 feet apart. I have a bit of play in my set up that I'm trying to figure out. I live in nova scotia are you close. I would like to have a look at your machine sometime.
