POV: you looked this up knowing you donât have the resources or knowledge to actually repair your headphones but wished to give yourself one last bit of hope before throwing them out.
Bruhh these headphones cost me 70
My POV: ok I think I have every thing I need him saying then expose the wires carefully me trying to figuring out how for 2 hours strait figuring it out then looking I cut all the witres in the process
Na cause I feel like I'ma mess up for just cutting my headphones
My Pov:I just freaking bought these headphones and the jack wont freakin work so i searched it up on how to fix it, For the love of god my jack started working again idk how but it just freakin happens

I found those replacement headphone jacks to be a pain. I was getting the wires twisted inside and even if I was lucky to get it soldered. What I did was get one of those 3.5mm to 3.5mm extenders and cut it in half. Then solder the two cables together. Less frustration messing with the actual jack.
i dont hear sounds cause my headphones is broken...
SeptaGintaQuinGent ok
@SeptaGintaQuinGent how do I fix a earphone jack?

I chuckled when the first one turned out to be garbage.

Imagine cutting the cord every time like if youâre sharpening a pencil. Then you still end up using it when itâs a little nub.
Why not just resold the cable on the jack tip?
Yo man this was great, I just did what you said and it worked and my speakers are much louder than they was thanks
Don't get why people would take their time to dislike videos such as these where they're trying to help!! If you don't like em, DON'T watch em SIMPLE!

"You can get one for $1" but you also need all this equipment that no one normally has.
if you don't have solder you shouldn't be attempting to fix anything with wires
you are a loser
This is the headphone plug, the jack is where you put the plug in.
Lmao broke my brothers headphone jack in half and one side of the headphone doesnt workthat cost literally 20 usd so i will buy a new one
Hybrid - Minecraft bruhhh me too but they cost 80
i've gotta tell ya man, these things break too easy. as in, i can get a new cord, but it wont be the same.
If i buy adapter will it work fine?
Thanks for the Knowledge brush up
My left ear loved this video. Although, I did get a little carried away and ordered an almost identical replacement jack only to later hear that it was crap. Nice.

Well... It's a really nice video with great tips, IF you have a soldering iron and the skill to use it.
The multimeter is a nice-to-have instrument, too.
Luckily, I happen to have both the soldering iron and the skill to use it. But I know it's not the case for many.
So, guys, I suggest you to learn how to use a soldering iron, not only for this video but for other purposes in electronic as well. If you can afford a multimeter (even a cheap one), it's a good thing to have, too.
my teacher let me use the soldering iron in my school lmao
You'll save a lot of money by knowing how to fix things..
@@Jiglias that's great!
@@bigchainring1977 indeed
what to do with the multimeter I bought and don't know what to do now my headphones are working but the sound is so low they were very loud when they were new.
In my case both jacks are broken.
Can I use electric tape instead of soldering
what if we dont solder it, and just bind it together ???????
Thanks!
Where (UK) can I buy a kit complete with glue/heatshrink wrap etc?
can you do the project using electrical tape to connect wires as I don't have a soldering iron
Great Lesson
Thank you
I had an issue with those cheap headphone jacks. I took one of my headphones for repair and the person who did it replaced the nice Philips jack with one of those. Now there's a weird phase cancellation effect in them. Will get the jack replaced soon. Make sure to shell out just a little bit more money on the parts you use! lol
Sounds like faulty ground. You're right, don't buy cheap replacements like I did.
@@LeftyMaker Hey, man. I'm not dealing with a broken pin or wires from the plug that connects to my security camera system but the plastic of the plug itself that secures the connection of the metal is bent on one side, making the fit onto the motherboard's port too narrow.
How do I fix this?
If I bend the plastic to not be narrow it could damage the metal inside making the proper connection. Also if I attempt to shove it on there that could mess up the port from the motherboard.
I hope you can help me solve this, and thanks for reading
Lol just found out that my headphone jack tip was a bit out of place, moved it a bit and it worked
Gonna say quickly this comment saved me some time. Saw it right as I opened the video, and tried moving my actual jack instead of the soft stuff at the end and it worked.
my jack always bend because my siblings always misplug it and it always broke(already 4 broken headphone jack), if it is out of place and u moved it , the wire inside might disconnect to either one of the side and u will hear it one 1 side only
I think my problem is even more basic than this: after a few months, every plug-in jack (Apple, old headphone or speaker jacks...) get sketchy, so I have to hold it in one position, or I get no sound. I try scraping the connection with a paper clip in case it's dirty, but that doesn't do much good. It happens with chargers also, in the sense that they get very slow, then stop charging after a few months.
It's got to be something I'm doing wrong, but I can't figure out what or how to fix it. Any reasonable suggestions welcome.
Do you know how to fix low sound from rear speakers in surround sound that would be connected via headphone jack 3.5 mm to an older tv? Sound is coming out of some 5.1 logittech PC speakers but they work fine. They work okay except the rear speakers are very low sound. There is no receiver involved so I'm not sure how to increase the gain on the rear speakers.
i have the same speakers i found them and they are old

I have 3 aux cables and all they dont work but i tried this i cant do it bro well.i will buy new aux cable the day after tomorrow it is something like 2 3 dollars here I will let you know if it gonna work if the aux cable was the problem or something else see you in 2 days
Everybody is talking about jack repair but my problem is not jack, it's headphone slot. When I plug a jack into a slot I won't have the sound until I stretch the jack into particular direction. Holding it like that and the sound is on but when I release it the sound goes off. It looks like physical damage within the slot. I have no idea what to do. Any help?
Well idiota here who say buy a nee one...these video is not for garbage quality headphones...when u have a very good costly pair of headphones and after heavy usage of those for several months ,u will break the 3.5 mm jack with may be harsh force..u will not again buy a costly headphones just for a pinproblem...insted u can repair it cheaper and use those headphones still further...
People are always using jack and plug interchangeably. What you have replaced here is the plug. I imagine a jack/port is a much more difficult thing to replace if that's the source of the problem.
I bought my new headphones 3 days ago... and they are broken already...
my dad bought me these headphones and i dont want him to know they broke.
This content is what I'm searching for.
So if you break the thing with the sleeve ring and tip, can you fix that or no?
So.... I can assume that someone is watching this without any sounds
Quick fix just smush the end with plyers so that the its keeping pressure on the back conection , either way if your cutting it off worth a try before. Mines works good enough to have some tunes in the garden LOL
Thank you so much
Frm where did we ger another jack indiqn price?
I thought the jack was the port it plugs into, not the plug itself? Anyway, good video, but not what I was looking for
Can I use a headphone jack for my stereo speakers?

thank you massively for the help.
I got this Usupso headset as a new years gift but unfortunately as you can tell it's only been a week and the headphone jack is already very sensitive and it doesn't turn work unless I tweak the jack
Can you do this with any type of headphone?

Boom my headphone got fix while watching this video. I just twisted the cable and it worked đ€Łđ€Łđ€Ł
sounds too easy..
I can't hear
Take the headphones off then
Mostly off topic but still gonna ask this question: I have got a 3.5 mm jack to 6.3 mm jack reduction which is a bith loose and when I use it with my headphones the sound is either silent completely or the balance is not the best, I know I could fix that by using ducttapeing it around to make it more attached to each other and believe me I have tried that 2 times already! What would be the best way to connect them properly so that I can have the best sound-check?
That is likely a bad electrical collection. The best thing would be to do this:
You need to determine which one of the headphone jacks is the bad one. To do it, you need to cut the cable in half (doesn't matter where exactly), you need to get access to the wires to check the connections.
Then, once you have two pieces of cable (I promise it is simple), you just check the conductivity of the channels with the multimeter. Right channel, you check all three wires to find it on the other side, found it, multimeter beeps. Same with left channel and ground.
If one side works completely, check the other one. If that is bad, get a replacement jack and replace the headphone jack on that side.
oh boy i sure love watching this video with no sound
Can you just solder the wires together or do you have to do all of that?
My left channel wire wasnt working on my jbl tune 100
What are in the thumbnail?
Just change the aux cable
thank you very much
Thanks
My wires are red, green and blue. What do I do?
Does this work with a headset?

Im super confused and I need help.. I can hear audio but not enough and my google audio is all the way up and Ive tried everything!
@Imaan Zahra The problem with you too is that your headphones are connected but not enough. Not enough data or whatever travels through

How do I hear this if my jack is broken?
I started the video then said "f*ck it" and broke it more. Now it works again.
Ive got a green, copper looking, red, and blue ish on one. And my other one is just blue, copper, and red

Bro can anyone help my headphones inserting pin is tilt that's why not able to listen audio
Can someone help me? My headphones are kinda a problem...so there is a string on the cord that helps me hear in my headphones and the headphone jack is loose and I need to hold the string to hear and the audio is so low now... help
NickRichardson he or she still needs help tho I have the same thing
@NickRichardson shut up
@NickRichardson you.
Littlerly everyone on yt is saying mean things to be be quiet I been through enough and don't correct me
@NickRichardson what??- I didn't watch it I just commented so someone can help
if in your case you get the super small cables just melt it off with a lighter its much simpler that's how i did it
i did this but the mic doesnt work and i dont know why
But why do these audio jacks fail? Whats the problem with them?
The copper wires inside them are extremely thin. If you bend them a bit too hard, they will snap and stop conducting.
@@LeftyMaker so my suspicion was correct, these things are designed to fail aren't they?
