I love how Mikey can barely manage to find shinies, but he can manage to call sheer cold through metronome and manage to make it land 😂
Maybe the shiny gods and battle gods are different groups and the battle gods took some pity on him after the shiny gods abandoned him?

This had EVERYTHING! The callback to the Pokémon Height ties, the irl art based contest, the 4-2 comeback, flashbacks of previous episodes, and the finish. What cinema!

The Pokédex entries part of this competition made me laugh, because I remembered Mikey covered it in his Scarlet and Violet dex entries video, since all the deerling forms got different entries. I knew right away it was deerling, but I didn't remember which form it was, and found it to be hilarious when Mikey remembered that the different forms got different entries.
The foreshadowing of John going, "Gogo... go... go..." just as the wheel lands on Pokémon Weight.
This was a truly hilarious finale! The inevitable tie in the heights, the sheer cold reaction, the interrupting Gogoat, and especially the frosting-stealing scream had me laughing out loud and replaying the moments.
The number of times I was wheezing with laughter in this video... the comedic chemistry is even better in person
Also I strongly relate to Mikey because I, too, eat semisweet chocolate chips directly out of the bag

The three different deerling's was a genius move, for Mikey's seconds round I thought he would have gone with the three stages of a pokemon. Either way, congrats John.
I don't know how but they always, somehow make these competitions so close. Even if one of them gets an early lead they other usually finds a way to come back and make the ending nerve wracking. Congrats to John. Please tell me there is a season 3 of the JMC. I regularly come back and rewatch the JMC videos at work if I have nothing else to watch on my breaks
I think part of it is just that PM7 will throw for humor (ex, bringing Feesh to the "catch a team to beat the champion" fights) if he's not under pressure. So Mikey will typically pick up an early lead, and then John gets serious, so things get tighter?

Btw, i'm very surprised at the fact that I vividly remember Autumn form Deerling's dex entry because i watched Mikey's video on S&V dex entries while Mikey himself didn't remember. I thought he would immediately get it 🤣🤣
