    As a flames fan, I would love the flames to draft him if they don't win the lottery (honestly, as much as I love Iggy and his whole family, I'd rather have Celebrini). But it does worry me what kind of pressure seeing your Dad's name hanging from the rafters every day would put on him. It honestly may be better for him to go somewhere else and make his own name.

      If the flames have the opportunity to draft him, which scenario would be worse? The flames skip on him and he becomes a star somewhere else, or they draft him and he doesn’t meet expectations. Curious what people would think

    Iginla is one of the youngest players in this draft I believe he’s a month away from qualifying for
    The 2025 draft so the goals and point production from Iginla this season are actually pretty good for his age along with not playing with elite level talent… I really hope the Habs draft Iginla he’s exactly what we need and in my opinion I believe personally his upside is higher than 50-60 points… The Habs development team is showing they can get the most out of their players, 90% of the Habs fan base believed Slafkovsky was going to be a bust, But now Habs fans are talking about him possibly being a 80+ point player In a couple years… If the Habs took Iginla I believe he could be a 30-40 goal 65-75 point power forward… Brayden point was a player that didn’t produce that great in the WHL and he became an amazing player at the NHL level, I see the same with Iginla, Suzuki and Hutson along with Slaf Feeding Iginla on the power play would be electric… Suzuki, Iginla, Slafkovsky, Hutson, Caufield would be a great first pp unit… Dach, Roy, Newhook, Mailloux and Mesar would be a great second unit… Or maybe we still trade for another forward.

    • @jbunit2
      @jbunit2 Před 2 měsíci +1

      1. 90% is pushing it. 50% would be closer to it.
      2. Mesar on the 2nd line in the NHL really? He hasn't proved anything at the AHL level yet and got sent back to juniors at the age of 20. He's finally showing some good signs in the playoffs but he needs to establish himself on a top6 in the AHL before he can even dream of smelling 2nd line minutes in the NHL.
      3. I do hope the Habs draft Iginla, even if it's at 5th overall. Unless Lindstrom is still available. But then again, I might be a bit more sold of Iginla's future than Lindstrom's with his recent injuries. Don't need another Dach scenario.

    I think that there is an x-factor to this draft that not many talk about. Eiserman. Team don't fall in love with a player just before the draft. They follow and sometimes fall in love with a player long before that. That being said, if a team liked Eiserman so much at the beginning of the year that only Celebrini could make them look away, the reality is that not much as changed since then in his game and it's possible that Eiserman could go anywhere after #1? I could see Anaheim or Columbus liking Eiserman.

    • @jbunit2
      @jbunit2 Před 2 měsíci

      Eiserman is falling out of the top 10. There's no way he turns into the player scouts initially hyped up unless he ends up on a team like Jersey, Colorado, Boston, Tampa, Pittsburgh...Some team with centers that control the play but more than that, teams where the culture and leaders will be able to mold this kid properly cuz the way he's been playing this past season, he's gonna become the next Mike Hoffman. At best, he's the next Laine. Which is not good. His potential is elite. But he currently only has a shot and if you can't even create your own scoring chances at that level, how can you expect to be anything more than just a powerplay specialist in the NHL?
      But don't take my word for it. Look up shift by shift videos of Eiserman. If you haven't pulled all of your hair out by the end of that, look up the most recent scouting reports on the guy.Then get back to me if you still think he's worth a top 10 pick, let alone top 5.

    Not to downplay his performance too much, but a caveat on him being tied for 2nd on points in the WHL playoffs is his series went 6 games. 4 of the other 7 series were sweeps, the other 3 were 5-game series. He's doing great but having 50% more games played than more than half of the other teams helps his point total.

    Stats wise it doesn’t scream Top 5 (especially compared to Catton’s offensive production although he is a complete liability on defense) and his play seems decent but he seems more like that mid-late first still but his stock is being inflated by the name and the fact that this class is weak offensively. Seems like a high floor low ceiling pick where you expect him to play but not be the potential 1st rd star in the redraft 5-10 years from now. Definitely won’t fall farther than Calgary but anything before 10 is bold

    I could see the Devils trading their lottery pick for Markstrom, they need a goalie. Flames could pick up Tij plus a d man. Thats just VERY hopeful thinking, love Marky but could be better use to a more playoff ready team. I think the devils just had an unfortunate season and they’d gain more confidence with Marky’s experience in net.

      No way NJ’s trading a top 10 pick for Markstrom. Maybe if Askarov is available but not for a 34 yo with 2 yrs left on his deal.

      Tij won't be available to the flames. Would be interesting but my guess is hel be a hab if Lindstrom, celebrini, demidov are off the board.

      They're not trading that pick now. Maybe at the deadline, but they do have enough players/prospects and picks to get the deal done

    CHICAGO blackhawks i hear, from an insider , are taking him #2. If you want Iggy's son , they want your first and a current roster player. I hear Kadri and Calgary's first rounder.

    Also with catton he did nothing in the playoffs.. the reason why playoffs make a difference is because it shows they have a higher chance translating to the NHL if they do really good against better talent and against playoff teams that means a higher chance itl translate. Catton has skill but the way he scores his points worries some teams according to some scout's.. alot of the things he does wont work at the nhl level. But could be wrong too

      I haven't been completely impressed with Catton's playoffs either, at this point I'd be surprised if Catton went ahead of Iginla

      @@GravitehHockey I listened too about 3 scouts too and they said they think iginla will outscore eiserman too. Has a shot not as good but still good but also knows how to score many more ways which may make him a better goal scorer which if that happens thatl be impressive considering scouts think eiserman may still score 40+ I want iginla so damn bad lol

    watch out getting too excited for WHL players as Iginla 47 goals in WHL is NOT the same as 47 goals in the OHL
    WHL is known to be an easy league so we have to be careful about getting excited too much! Iginla is good bit never a Top 5 pick… mauve between 10-16 at best

      Nope, he will get better and better with age. Iginla before Demidov and Lindstrom, Imvho.
      Lindstrom is a bet because of injuries.
      Demidov has proved nothing in the North American hockey level
