- Test riding BMWs new R12nineT while the GS was in for a service.
What an excellent little/naked bike this is, fantastic looking, great build quality, smooth and fast to ride, perhaps too fast!! Such an easy bike to ride, handles like a dream, difficult to find any fault apart from the lack of wind protection you get on this type of bike, it's really good.... would I buy one, well you'll need to watch the video to find out!
Thanks to Motorrad Central Edinburgh for arranging and allowing me to test ride their demo bike. - Auta a dopravní prostředky
great engine, great frame, great look ... no gigantic TFT ( or TFT at all ) , no wind shield ... a true motorcycle ...
Couldn't agree more!
Beautiful video ❤. I own a scrambler Ducati 800 right now. Bought it in my 20’s, now I’m in my 30's i think this bike better suits me now cause I’m getting old. LOL. And can’t deny that horsepower and torque upgrade either. Cool video mate!
Nice Video, thank you. Although, I not sure the different modes effect the suspension characteristics. This bike hasn’t got semi-active suspension.
Thanks - you're spot on, my mistake thinking that's why there is a delay changing modes, finally realised it only changes modes when you fully close the throttle 👍
That’s a great engine I’ve got it on one of my early GS’s. I have several BMW’s and you can on all of them put them into dynamic then change the suspension into road, likewise in road or rain you can change to dynamic. That is of course if this bike has auto suspension not sure not seen that on any I’ve looked at.
couldn't agree more, it was fab! I'm not sure what suspension adjustments you can do on that model on the fly, the TFT was quite small and basic, and as standard it comes with clocks so perhaps not....?
2:56: "....a lovely little bike..." i suppose 1200ccc is quite lively for a little bike........... RRR
8:45: " the front wheel's nae liftin at all..." with just over 100 bhp and all that weight....... ok
No bad but too bloody expensive for a back road toy to take out for an hour after work. Like you I've got a GS as my go to bike and a guzzi v7 to satisfy back road naked bike needs but honestly hardly use it. More often than not, even for a quick ride before tea it's the gs I pull out.
I have a 1250rs and i do over 7k a year on it, absolutely love it. In march this year on a whim i bought a 2016 nine t as a weekend toy, really wasn’t sure at first but now i absolutely love it, it’s an absolute riot.
@julianstiff4685 I have absolutely no doubt but sadly my finances (read wife) won't allow me to have 2 high value bikes. Nice to know someone else that makes decent use of a gs though.
