Very interesting. Hoping to install such a system in my home renovation in a few years. But I'm not getting rid of my log burner in my lounge!

Sounds like good advice. I was wondering that if converting from a gas to an eletric combi boiler was advantagous?

At 56p per Kwh, very expensive to run an electric combi boiler.

@@christopherhulse8385 That's only one price vs another energy provider who might be cheaper. Also, if you have just electirc, there would be no gas standing charge, and bieenial checks.

It is demonstrably NOT more EFFICIENT to keep your heating on all the time, unless the physical laws of thermodynamics do not apply to oyu. The warmer you keep your house when you are not there, the more energy it will lose. It IS less efficient. It’s not as nice to come home to a cooler house, granted.
