    If you do this, be aware that it will also set all the BIOS settings to the default settings. So if you ever changed anything you will have to remember what you changed and change it back after the reset. I learned that the hard way. I had made some changes when I upgraded my hard drive and my PC wouldn't boot after resetting the BIOS.

      How many CLR CMOS does your M800 have? I only have 1 and the pins were in 2 and 3 initially instead of 1 and 2. How about yours? This method did not work for me. Any tips?

    After attempting to reset the CMOS multiple times on my Lenovo Thinkcentre S500Z AIO PC. Also on other systems in the past including laptops. I can tell you for sure that resetting the CMOS is more of a 50/50 chance, so it only works about 50% of the time. Also as a test I replaced the CMOS battery, and also even went into the bios without the CMOS battery in it. It did apsolutely nothing at all.

    Did a couple of times. After you reset via the jumpers. Switch it on and reset all settings to default and then F7 save. On the next boot your bios will be good as new

  • @williamchromebookpeterson

    Would this work on a Lenovo P348? I've got a power on password on it that more than likely a student installed. The person installing the desktop did not setup a BIOS password therefore...here I am lol

    Can you make a tutorial for removing a BIOS password from laptops, as clearing CMOS typically doesn't work since bios passwords are stored in eeprom.

    • @jonathongraves2976
      @jonathongraves2976 Před rokem

      @@Tech875O Like yeah that may work. but the problem is that you still need to get into Windows. But if it's an actual boot up password that comes even before the bios. than that would not work because boot up passwords basically locks you out of booting anything like the primary OS on you local C drive, and even anything flashed on external devices like flash drives, SD cards, and even CD, or DVD media.

    It was bullshit. It gets you into the BIOS but you can't change any values in the bios you can just look at it. Same as before clearing the bios. You need a password plain and simple
