- Today I fix the front bumper on this Limited Edition beautiful truck. Things happen in production, at home or in a backpack that may warp plastic. This method can be used to fix many types of plastics. Always start out slow and steady. Apply the heat slowly and don't go crazy torqueing on the plastic. Take your time. It's easier to bend and heat a little at a time as opposed to having to unbend or fix melted plastic because you went ballistic.
I just picked up #759, my buddy got his same shipment same lhs not only do we have curved bumpers we have a crack in the bodies on the passenger side where the cab and step meet. Neither of us are thrilled with the body damages.
Oh no! That's lame new about the body. I was lucky that my body had no damage but the inner white box cover was smooshed down a bit. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Horizon has a fix for this issue. (maybe new bodies send out to those who got damaged ones. RC Driver who got number 10 also had issues with the body also. I'm sure by now they know it's not an isolated issue. In the meanwhile without seeing the damage I do have an idea on a fix. Depending on where the crack is you can use a piece of lexan to support the crack from behind and use CA glue to keep in in place and fill the crack. Then you can cover the crack with some Yeah Racing sticky Diamond Plate and cut little pieces out to put on the steps of the Step Side bed.

@@sunriserc1033 I saw your box delivery, you definitely got lucky with that. Luckily my lhs is awesome with helping out in things like this, horizon is aware of multiple body damaged trucks as well as almost every front bumper being warped so it sounds like they are working on a solution. Definitely a bit of a bummer but over all still very happy with the anniversary edition and a truck I will enjoy keeping in my collection.
Same thing with mine
@@travislawson919 go watch my how to fix video. Before you fix it get a few before picture. They are replacing the front bumper if you email them about it. This way you’ll have the repaired bumper plus a backup. Don’t tell Horizon I gave you the idea. Hahaha.
Thanks for the tip.
I'm glad I could help. Thanks for watching.
Thanks
Glad you found the video useful. Take some before pictures if you attempt to straighten the bumper. They are sending out replacement bumpers. But they’ll need a picture of the bent bumper. If you feel inclined, grab yourself a replacement bumper also and fix this one. That way you’ll have 2. ✌🏽
Mine same way right out the box
Thanks for watching Travis. Where you able to use the info here to get your bumper fixed up?
The heat won’t make the chrome wrinkle? Nice fix! I like the truck, but can’t see paying $600 for that nothing special. Thanks
I dont see it damaging the chrome unless possibly you get it really really hot. At the temp I got it, it's just enough to soften the plastic just enough for it to take the new shape once cool.
Thanks for watching.

How did you learn how to do that?
I've been using heat to manipulate plastics for a while. Not sure exactly when it was but it was a situation very similar to this. I just went for it and it worked out. Everything is trial and error and with a hobby like this you have to think outside the box a lot.
