The Doomed - Let's kitbash....

- Hello everyone and welcome back to the channel and my new current kitbashing obsession.....The Doomed by Osprey Games! I wasn't really plannin on getting into any new game systems for the rest of the year as I really have enough to keep my occupied. But The Doomed has certainly captured my imagination and I have been busy creating and kitbashing since the rulebook was delivered.
Essentially, The Doomed is a monster hunting skirmish set in an apocolytpic world where horror and mayhem seem to lurk around every corner. The rules themselves are very rules lite which makes for a quick paced game without the need for constantly looking at rules, adding tokens and keeping track of things. The game is miniature agnostic and the author, Chris McDowall, encouarages players to kitbash their hunting parties and warbands as this certainly feeds into the setting that he has created.
As people may know, I absolutely love kitbashing and can happily spend hours and hours creating unqiue and individual figures and that is certainly what I've done here. In the video, I'll show you what I've created so far and my plans for even more kitbashing creativity.

Looking good. I am enjoying the freedom of only having my imagination (and bits box!) to limit what I can put together for this game.
Definitely this! I really like that the background to the various factions are quite vague as this encourages people to let their imaginations run wild in building their own interpretation of the warbands 😃👍
Great work! The first models really fit the Inheritor Court theme.. You’re right, the game really gets the imagination going.. I chose the Court Warband for my first battle video as well😊👍

Great stuff. Fingers crossed this does become a series of videos on Doomed. I thought your very first fig was my fave. But they are all well-weird and look a lot of fun. You’ve clearly got a great memory when it comes to bitz too.
Thank you! I'm definitely planning on making more videos about The Doomed moving forward as I've really enjoyed what I've completed so far. I have a few more ideas about using the 30k marines in a few more projects. I always try and remember what bits and pieces I've used in case I'm asked what they are 😃
Hello, first one of your videos I've watched - it was fantastic! I'm currently working on squads, war bands and opponents for Zona Alpha, Last War and A War Transformed - looks like The Damned will fit right in. I have heaps of Wargames Atlantic and Frostgrave spare bits. I already made a Chaos Cult by adding spare GW Chaos Warrior and Warlord German Grenadier bits (a freebie with a magazine two years back!) into the mix. Anyway, this fits right in with what I'm up to this year. Great stuff. Thanks!
That's awesome, thanks Edward, very kind of you! I am planning a follow up video to this once I get around to putting some paint on some recent kitbashes. One thing I always enjoy about creating warbands for the Doomed is the sheer amount of different kits and pieces that can be used. As you have mentioned, Wargames Atlantic and Frostgrave kits work really well. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment 😃👍

Thanks Ray, much appreciated! They were really a lot of fun to build. I had no real idea what I wanted them to look like at the end but just sat down with a bunch of kits and bits boxes and they were the result. Very happy with them 😃👍

Thank you, much appreciated! You're absolutely right about that. While I have purchased a few different kits, the majority of the bits and pieces used on these are from my different bits boxes. It's always interesting to see an old miniature or random piece being repurposed into something new 😃👍

Thank you! That figure is probably my favourite so far. It took a little while to work out what bits and pieces to use but it went together pretty easily 😃👍

Lovely work! I have enjoyed watching your progress on the Facebook Group for The Doomed. The last group your working on will certainly make a great Reborn Coven Warped warband. The first model is certainly an Offspring as it comes with 2 savage claws, the next could be a Kindred, the dual gun one an Engineer, the next could be an Exemplar (Leader) and the last one cold be an informer. Keep up the excellent work!
Thank you, much appreciated! I was thinking the same thing about the figure with the claws, I was really happy with how this one turned out as the power claws fit exceptionally well. I have a few ideas on the go for the rest of them. I've made a start on a third warband and chuffed with how they are progressing 😃👍

I think a really good option, and one that I will be doing, is to start a solo campaign before introducing other players to the game. This will allow you to kitbash some warbands and fully understand the rules before running a campaign with others 😃👍

Nice video and minis. I am already lamenting GW monopose update to cadians. The old kits have been the basis of so many bashes for me and they are already getting very hard to find.
Thanks Mark, much appreciated! You're definitely not the first person to say that about the Cadians I can imagine. I've had quite a few in various bits boxes since about 2013 and they are really very versatile for a whole manner of kitbashing projects and rule systems. It'll be a sad day when I run out 😃👍
