  • Cubaris (or Nesodillo) sp. ‘Red Tiger’ isopods have amazing colors, but their shyness may prevent them from being the best pet isopod. I have enjoyed my red tiger isopods, despite the fact that they tend to run and hide quite quickly when disturbed. Their variable colors and patterns are beautiful.

I never kept Red Tigers but they're just amazing!
I also love that intro, and I keep Cubaris sp. Platin and in my opinion they look quite similar. I also keep little seas. I currently only keep platins, little sea, and an unidentified species.

Thank you for the care guide. Mine also return to the same spot. I don't know if it is at a "morph" level, but in late 2020, Hellfire Exotics made a post where they said “high pattern/color line” and I don't know how that went for them. Good luck with those mostly orange ones.

I haven’t been keeping them long, but they seem to be doing well. Once I have a nice thriving colony and feel confident I can advise others on their care, I will try to make one!

I got my Red Tigers at the same time as my Rubber Duckies, both being my first "rare" isopods. This was back in November. Despite setting them up identically, my Tigers have thrived while the Duckies have slowly dwindled, and may have died out entirely at this point.
I'm not sure what happened, but anecdotally they're easier than Duckies!

Hey Rus, I am planning on breeding garter snakes, I want to make a bio active enclosure with three garter snakes, is a 4x2x2 foot enclosure good? I have been trying to find wooden vivariums as the glass ones are quite pricey, I went to a local pet shop and they were telling me about this wood vivarium which is supposedly waterproof; however, when I searched up the brand online it doesn’t mention anything about it being waterproof, it does come readily built and says it’s sealed though. I’m a beginner and am not sure whether I should trust them, does sealed mean waterproof, I wouldn’t want to spend money on a vivarium for it to get ruined. Also do you think dairy cow Isopods would go well with the garter snakes, I just ordered some and am going to breed those aswell and was planning on putting them in once I had the bioactive vivarium set up. What are your thoughts?
