Varmint rifle for Rabbit's, Possum, Badger, Skunk, Beaver, and Racoon, Small game for Squirrel, Chipmunk, Rat's, Bird's and Snakes.
The compendium tells you exactly what kind of weapon and ammo you need to use for clean pelts. For Rabbits it's the varmint rifle, never fails. The small game arrows have their uses! I got 100% compendium completion and the info on the compendium never fails!
Honestly, I don't think people appreciate or understand the compendium enough. Please spread more love about the animal compendium!! 🐇🐇🙏🙏

@ 25:55 "To the know it alls...", I do the same thing when hunting with multiple horses. Why? Relieving the horse of burdens gains you bond xp. And...small game arrows; get the varmint rifle instead ( for free) by saving the bear trap dude, since you already did the snake bite dude. Find him Mt Shan, West Elizabeth, then go to Strawberry to get the varmint rifle at the gunsmith.
Small game arrows cost me hours trying, only to damage everything I shot at then watching them get up and run off. The way i got the challenge to kill 8 consecutive animals with small game arrows was fish and frogs.
Fox are made of kevlar, can hardly get them without tearing them all to sh t. My favorite weapon for predators (bear, big cats, legendary animals) is the poisonous arrows...bar none. They'll stop the cougar and griz in their tracks.
The amount of times a pelt has mysteriously fallen off my horse never to be seen again…
Varmint rifle for rabbits. Small game arrows for mice, small birds, snakes, chipmunks, squirrels, etc.
Ok, I rarely desire 3star pelts from most of the animals you named. But when I do, I’ll give the small game arrows a change to redeem themselves lol.
Small game only snakes ( can be ineffective also ) small birds, rats, chipmunks and squirrels, I get the varmint rifle at same as Springfield, at the beginning of the bear hunt, Hosea will say look rabbits, they are all perfect

I got the Dutch warmblood after this mission but I couldn’t never bond with it so I got rid of it.
I use small game arrows on snakes, that's about it

Are you referring to the way I style my Arthur lol? Typically I only put on the clothes Arthur already has, I just switch them up, and I wear clothes made by the trapper. It seems fitting to me, Arthur doesn’t strike me as the type of outlaw to shop at the general store for high fashion lol.

Just restarted my game for a “Menace Arthur” playthrough… I’m currently rocking mostly clothes he already has. It’s a pair of his lighter colored jeans, the black casual shirt w/ rolled up sleeves unbuttoned collar, and then went to get the sheepskin cloak. My boy Arthur dripped out currently w minimal effort 💧😂
