- Playing an older Squier J. Mascis Jazzmaster with tons of upgrades, including Fender Pure Vintage 65 pickups through an EHX Grand Canyon, using only the looper function. Loop is with the JM's rhythm circuit, both knobs turned up. Playing over the top is (as you can see) with the neck, then bridge, then neck (with tone rolled off).
Amp is an early-mid 60s Ampeg Gemini I with a 15" (likely from a Gemini II). Plugged into "low" input of channel one. Settings are as follows: Volume at 3.5, Treble at 4, Bass at 10, Reverb at 5.
Recorded straight onto iPhone. What do you think? Is the audio good enough, or should I be using a microphone and interface?
As always, let me know what you think, and ask any questions you might have! I'd love to meet other Gemini lovers. I've been playing them for over 20 years now.
nice one, thanx
Thanks a ton! Stoked that you enjoyed. 😊
My man
CK! I miss you! When will you post a video of your beautiful JM and fantastic playing?
Outstanding playing and sounds! I love my stock JMJM, but I’m always on the hunt for mods and new approaches; thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words, @Prousto! I loved the JMJM as it was, but like it even better now. :) I hope that an offset telecaster is in the cards in the next year. :)
PS - Stay tuned for more JMJM videos!
