Hi Mario, if close I invariably like to position a birds eye approximately on an intersection of a vertical and the top horizontal line in the rule of thirds, with the body to the left or right towards an edge but if something special about the birds body this roughly ends up in the centre spot. We are getting into spring so many males are in breeding plumage and migratory birds down the coast as they head south. An exciting several months ahead.
Thanks again for an interesting video. Tony

Hi Tony !!!!!!!!! Undoubtedly, the eye at the point of interest is optimal, and something like that suggests the rule, unless the essential is elsewhere. But at the end, the best of the rules is when they are broken (in Photography 😁) , that's where the maximum creativity appears.
Spring, I love it! Here in Germany, autumn is beginning. after a summer with almost nothing of sun....greetings a big hug.

Very well presented and illustrated, Mario. Personally, i hate all of these 'rules' - i just try to find a sense of harmony or an appropriate balance in my images - and then i get them on screen and see that i've accidentally succumbed to some 'rule' or other. Drives me nuts - i want to break free!! I think i had a little success a couple of weeks ago with a portrait shot of half a quizzical looking cow that's turned out very well - still looking for the rule in that one! All the very best to you and thanks for your work. Cheers.

😊😊😊 But Luzr... you are already on a next level !!, These rules are more focused on the beginning of the photography journey. Once you master them, almost all the photos you take, these rules are intrinsic to them, and the creativity begins. these rules are the initial steps before starting to race. 😊
